Very annoying this being awake in the wee hours of the day, tossing and turning, trying to go back to sleep! However, since giving up on the trying, I am looking at it as "me" time whatever time of the night it may be. Started doing this after reading a book by Lesley Kenton "Passage to Power" which she wrote during the night times she could not sleep when going thru menopause... these hours became the most productive of her life, she says. Not that it has done the same for me - but hey, lots of conversations with the universe have occurred!

Hi Nimonemo, the small market (approximately 35 tables) is an effort by the freezone authorities and a FZ company to add to the community. It's been taking place a few times, and just lately has also been sponsored by Park n Shop. Do visit Friday from 11 am to 6 pm - and hope it's not too hot...

Kikidubai, my apologies, I seem to have misunderstood your question. My answer only applies if you wish to keep your maid but want to change it into a company's visa.

If I am informed correctly, each establishment requires its own post office box; sharing is definitely discouraged, if not disallowed as it is part of the corporate set-up (at least with locally establishments as opposed to FZ companies).

Has she been thru an iris scan previously as she entered on a "domestic" visa"? And what about her qualifications, wh? All will be considered when new application for company visa is submitted. Best find out about visa requirements for "clerks" or such from Immigration as they do have minimum qualification requirements for all company positions.

What a pity that their food and service at the Marina is not comparable to theirs near Lamcy Plaza... only had the best of experiences in terms of taste, quality of food and service. In comparison, their bbq buffet prices were AED 45 with AED 65 at the Marina.

You will be lucky if you can change a "domestic' visa to a "company" visa in Dubai. Usually, that change is not appraoved. Also to consider is that, as an employee, your maid is entitled to indemnity to be paid at the end of employement (on basic salary) whilst as a "domestic" this is at your discretion.

Never forget the full moon night spent at Al Maha... about 3.30 am knock-knock-knock... Fench windows open... now who's walking on our terrace? So, veeery carefully I looked out - and saw two gazelles locking horns on our "green"! What an amazing sight right in front of our eyes, we watched them for good part of the hour until they drifted away....

Hi Ansie, I would say go to Cosmos Lane. From the Bur Dubai abra station walk up to Al Fahidi Street, turn left at the traffic light for approx 3-400 m then you'll have Cosmos Lane on your right. Lots and lots of beautiful materials to be had there at great prices... Have fun!

Have you ever looked into the food combination diet? It actually isn't a diet, it is meant to make you eat in the correct combinations... you'd be surprised how much better you feel by not combining starches with proteins... and how much weight you can lose. Best of all, you can eat everything, well almost!

The pink [i'>Jumeirah Plaza [/i'>will be on your left right after the [i'>Jumeirah Center[/i'> and the Emarat petrol station, and right opposite the Jumeirah Village. Art Stop is on the first floor on your right as you come up the escalator.

There also is a wholesale craft souq on Deira side. Easiest access: as you enter the Gold Souq from the parking end/bus station side, walk towards the T-junction where the Gold Souq continues to the right. Turn left there, walk about 5 minutes along and over a traffic junction/roundabout, then you'll have plenty craft shops on your left. Happy browsing at wholesale prices...!

Eveing MPenny, so glad you found what you were looking for at E&F. Very sad they're closing. Just a pointer as I don't know just how much paper material you need: I used to make lots of cards in the past and found pre-cut card material too expensive. As need required, I purchased beautiful paper sheets and began cutting them myself. Dto for the making of fitting envelopes. For any assistance needed, write to me. Have fun creating!

Then there is a pyramide scheme, there is MLM and there is Network Marketing - both last ones are legal marketing entities over the last 50 years. Whilst NuSkin had their (well-deserved) share of troubles, they are still running because they are NOT a Pyramide. To my knowledge, they are multi-level marketers, and network marketing is being taught at universities all over the US as THE GREATEST BUSINESS OF THE 21st Century. Some of their products are super and suit my skin, others are not. And no, I am not a member of the NuSkin business.

Yes Sandy, JLT market is finally up and running again from this Fri onwards, 11am - 6 pm, DM and Police approval having now been given to do so. However, trade licence needs to be provided to rent a table. I understand it will take place every Fri until end April.

Homeopathy is most definitely one of the best holistic treatments one can have. What you experience is usually called a "healing crisis" and is a positive sign that your body responds to treatment. No quackery, that!

Hi Mollydxb, the one I meant is actually in the Bastakiya next to the mosque. The restaurant you most likely refer to is Beit Al Wakeel - it boasts a terrace over the water and is in the middle of the souq. Lovely location, unfortunately the air is quite polluted when you sit on the terrace...
