Both seminars towards the end of Feb. More details, let me know.

Against mosquitos, try 20 drops of lemongrass essential oil, mixed with 10 drops of cinnamon essential oil; dilute with 20 ml of base oil; apply to skin. Instead of the base oil, use water to dilute in spray bottle, or burn tealights/other candles with several drops of lemongrass oil.

Hi, do check with the Sh Mohd Foundation for Cultural Understanding in the Bastakiya. As all their dinners served during Ramadhan are proudly cooked in private homes, and they are trying to bring people together, it is quite likely they could arrange for you to learn in a Muslim home.

yoyo70, that refusal to allow professional home inspectors as well as the time limit appears very unreasonable. How about approaching RERA for advise on that issue without mentioning the N-word?

Morning Teabag, can email you the Dubai Municipality form. As these forms are fairly old translations, they often don't quite make sense - do you use an addendum with it?

Hi SydGal, if you are buying new property that has just being completed, a professional home inspector is absolutely essential - I wouldn't do without him. Any issues would then have to be remedied by the developer within 11 months. Even if you purchase property from a previous owner (i.e. that has been completed more than 11 months and the warranty period has lapsed), a professional inspection is advisable; it should ideally be part of the agreement that repair of any serious problems should be to the account of the seller. There are a number of very good home inspectors available, if you require any reference, please let me know.

Hi JoBen, Emirates Road for sure. To Ajman from Dubai, not after 3 pm, and even throughout the day, there might be somewhat slow traffic in Sharjah past the National Paints r/a. From Ajman to Dubai, after 10 am anytime, although I would avoid the llunch/school closing hours

Hallo Ladies of Leisure, Who of you is up for a little adventure tomorrow? Having just had a car breakdown before the weekend when I had booked a table at the RAK craft fair at the Al Hamra Golf Course – always a lovely occasion organized on the open terrace overlooking the greens and the lagoon, with lots of socializing going on on the side – I am looking for a lady who would kindly drive with me up there tomorrow morning and spend a carefree day in leisurely RAK. I had planned to take my crystals, jewelry and tattoos – strange combination, I know – and always could use a hand… Anyone up to it? Contact please at crystalsindubai at yahoo dot com.

Flower Girl... that situation smells! Visa can't be cancelled without your signature confirming that you have received your final settlement - question arises: who has signed your document? I would not let so much time lapse as you only have 30 days to leave the country...

Hi, I am a type B and try to adhere to the "diet" as much as practical, although it really is not a diet as it goes across the entire gamut of foodstuff. The effects are quite subtle. It does not say, for instance, that you cannot eat whatever is negative for your blood type, but if you do carefully watch (and listen to) your body and how you feel, you might notice that when often/regularly eating your "negative" foods [b'>you will not feel as good as you could[/b'>[i'>[/i'>. As mentioned in one of the earlier comments, there also is a marked improvement in ones energy level. Works for me... I sure do feel the difference.

One can actually contest the fine officially, in which case the photograph has to be presented by the police as proof. If they are right, you pay the fine + "court fees", but if you know you can't be the "sinner" you also have a good chance. Takes time, effort and lots of nerve...

Best way would be to head down SZR / Zabeel Road to the creek opposite the Sheraton & Dubai National Bank. Park there (for free at Al Sabka Station) and use the water bus to the Gold/Spice Souq station (Dh 4 return). These buses run every 15 minutes, last one around 10.30 pm. From this station its about 5 minutes to walk thru the spice souq to the gold souq, and saves you a lot of hassles trying to park on Deira side. Besides, its a lovely ride on the creek! Enjoy, happy to hear someone makes an effort to explore "old Dubai"...
