The owner of the "late" bead palace has relocated to Canada with all her goods. I think one of you ladies addressed me in another thread re juwelry making classes. I am happy to do a beginners class for a minimum of 4 persons, max 6. Saturdays would be ideal. Let me know if you would like to discus.

I occasionally suffer from this uncomfortable condition and when I do, I use a cream named IceDancer by NuSkin for immediate relief. But, really, any cream with cooling properties should do for a massage that especially includes the soles of the feet. edited by crystalsindubai on 14/10/2011

Qnet is a network marketing company - not a pyramide scheme (which is illegal worldwide). Some of their products are very interesting, especially the holidays. Network marketing is taught in a variety of business school/universities. Read about it in "The Business of the 21st Century". Network marketing is hard work and takes time to bring you the promised income. Invest in that time, and you will succeed - no effort, no success, no money! edited by crystalsindubai on 14/10/2011

I have this really nervous sense that something bad is going to happen..... not really sure why........ Law of Attraction in full force! What do you mean by that? Hi Princess, as another poster earlier wrote, you attract what you think, fear, put energy into. If and when I do wake up unsettled after a unrestful night, I physically shake myself out of my negative thoughts, take some deep breaths, count my blessings and put a smile on my face. With that I invite (attract) and accept all the good things that can come my way. Works for me....

Thanks, Maracas, for sharing your info! An alternative routing (for people from the Abu Dhabi direction) would be changing from the red to the green line at Khalid Bin Al Waleed (Bur Juman) station, leave at the Palm Deira (exit 1) to the pedestrian bridge from the vegetable souq to the gold souk side and onto the New Gold Souk Bldg - about 7 min walk. Will try out which option is faster, next visit... Yes, these touters are sure a pain in the b..., I find a glaring, angry look usually does the trick. edited by crystalsindubai on 03/10/2011 edited by crystalsindubai on 03/10/2011

A few places come to mind: - the Italian restaurant at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel (can't recall its name right now) - great food and spectacular view of the Burj Al Arab; sit outside on the terrace. - La Pachanga, also the Jumeirah Beach Hotel (Argentinian food) on the 25th floor; latin food, again direct view of the Burj Al Arab - Asado (Argentinian restaurant) at The Palace Hotel in Burj Downdown with the most spectacular view of the Burj Khalifa/some fountain view as well; great food. If you go on a Sunday, you will see A. Tango dancing from about 9 pm onwards. - for romance: the EauZone restaurant at the Arabian Court of the One & Only Royal Mirage; sitting in beautiful garden setting around the pool and at the sea; some view of the Palm - great east/west fusion cooking. - another Italian: Il Secreto at the Madinat Jumeirah: beautiful garden/canal setting, super elegant and delicious food Wherever you go, wishing you a wonderful evening - and congratulations on your anniversary! edited by crystalsindubai on 02/10/2011

Yes crystalsindubai, that does sound very interesting. Do you have contact info pls. Easiest to google Dubai Natural History Group newsletters. Lots of info there, contacts in the most recent newsletter. I personally participated in some of their tours quite a few years ago and the were always organized and conducted very professionally.

Separating some facts from fiction/predictions: this report is based on NASA research which has been following Elenin's path around our solar system. Facts are that at times of E's recent closest encounters and alignments massive earthquakes have happened. Considering that there will be three close encounters within the next three months, the likelihood of "something" happening is not to be ignored. Furthermore, Nasa has issued internal memos to its own employees advising to take necessary precautions. Food for thought? Me thinks so. - Panic? No... edited by crystalsindubai on 24/09/2011

I love the museum and all our visitors have too. Yes, only 3dhs for adults. The person at the ticket booth is in the wrong job though - he doesn't say please or thank you, in fact appears to have no manners at all! The other day when I visited with visitors, the ticket booth was "manned" by three local ladies... had quite some giggles with them! The closest metro station is, indeed Al Fahidi on the Green Line; during day, I would however consider the distance to walk too long and would use a taxi to the location. The nearest cafe is the Basta Cafe next to Majlis Gallery in the Bastakiya. An alternative would be to walk through the Bastakiya to the building at the very other end from Basta Cafe... meet some locals, chat with them, share a cup or two of Arabic coffee. They even offer the opportunity to dress up in local clothes and take photos... charming experience! edited by crystalsindubai on 16/09/2011

Sadly, some men just don't do committment no matter how long they have to decide. Some just want the fun side and none of the responsibilities of a growing relationship and will run if they feel that the woman is getting too "serious" My DH and I were engaged within 8 weeks of our first meeting, we knew from the first that we were for each other. We have been married almost 35 years and still very happy. If I were the OP I would just get on with my life and not waste time on a man who is pussyfooting about. I think that people should have a good idea of whether someone is right or wrong for them after 8 months. Men do mature later than woman but at 36 he should be far more sure of what he wants from life. Just enjoy yourself and see what happens but don't mope about waiting for someone who may or may not decide that you are the one. You are worth more than that. :) x I couldn't agree more!

if your employer writes a letter saying residency in process and salary etc they should accept this - well they did 3 years ago - this is dubai and things may have changed! That is my understanding (and experience) as well. The same goes for Dewa/utility providers.

There are people who claim that its so safe, they dont lock their homes at night or some leave their car running when they go inside a store. Such people will probably be stung because while violent crime is very rare, petty theft is quite common . There are even gangs who break into locked cars and tow them away, and are caught from time to time... These were the good old days when it was safe - no longer so, unfortunately!

I would just tell them to get off my mat, especially as they are being so nosey. Tell them every single time you see them then they might get so fed up of having to move that they won't bother in the end. Oh, and......cooler weather is just a few weeks away ;) I can't wait for cooler weather!! on my balcony, i can't hear the friday morning/afternoon screams :)))) I have wanted to say something to the maids, but always felt kind of bad....i mean its their job to take these kids out to the corridors for hours on end...their employers tell them so...i guess when they get tired of bike wheels being rammed into their shins, they have no choice but to sit in the corridors as they can't leave the kids alone...i am more partial to blaming the parents tbh In my previous location, I inissted that they would play - and sit - in front of their own doors. Banging balls and bicycles into your door is simply not acceptable!

Sima, I have two questions: 1. do you love/enjoy your job; Is teaching what you like to do? We all know that doing what you really like/love to do should make you buoyant, not draining your life out of you (the local climate notwithstanding, howver..). 2. what kind of food do you generally eat for lunch? As much as possible/practical, I am a follower of food combining. From my own experience, I can avoid the afternoon slump by eating greens, salads, etc.; I will not allow myself the classical "drainer" of mixing starch and proteins which are difficult for the body to cope with. Make a huge difference in my life.
