@Zeynab. I had two miscarriages then two healthy pregancies. In my healthy pregnancies, I saw the heartbeat in the sac at 6.4 weeks with an internal scan. However, your doctor might have miscalculated the dates. You might be only 4 or 4.5 weeks and there is only a sac at that stage so stay strong, it might be OK. HUGS

Zeynab. I'm praying for you. This happened to me twice as well at 7/8 weeks. Sac but no heartbeat. I now have 2 healthy, lovely children. You will go on to have a healthly pregnancy at some stage but you need to be strong. xox

Just to play devil's advocate here, why should you have access to beach, gym etc if the owner hasn't paid his service charge. Because the owner would neved fess up to the tenant before renting it out. It's cheating pure and simple.

I am becoming increasingly concerned about tenants rights here. My job involves helping people move into Dubai and I get the feeling that before any one of us signs for an apartment/villa we should check the credit worthiness of the future landlord. I intend to contact RERA and see if there is a method of doing this easily and cheaply, the onus is on the tenant to pay everything up front for a year but there is no protection it seems from the landlord reneging on their responsibilties. But why do tenants continue to play into the hands of greedy landlords. If everyone just refused to pay 1 year up front, then things would change. It's a renter's market but landlords still seem to be on top.

I had those books 1) J'attend un enfant and 2) J'eleve mon enfant... but I GAVE them away when I moved here. I am so sorry but I think you can find them at any big bookstore here. I seem to remember seeing them at MacGrudy's in the French section

That's strange. Can you think back to the last time you saw your "friend" and what might have been said/ done for her to react this way and distance herself from you. It is really very odd behaviour and maybe someone has said something about you behind you back. Otherwise, I would just forget. If she is acting this way, then she is not really your friend.

A driving instructor in the Meadows came to a screaching holt to turn into one of the residences without indicating etc etc and nearly caused a pile up. That's the standard that is being taught!

Does it matter what they say about us? My DH was an only child and brought up in a very differnt manner to the way in which I was brought up with my brothers. So obviously my MIL thinks that she knows everything there is to know about bringing up children and always sticks her nose in and critisises the way I do things... which is an insult to my parents. My DH and I now tell her NOTHING about what's going on with the kids ( grommets for DS, nebuliser for DD) as she thinks she knows better than the doctors, lawyers, judges, accountants and everyone else out there. Then she gets upset when she finds out 6 months later and it's not longer hot news.

:/: sad to involve children like this... I think it is better to keep children away from anyone who disrespects their mother. I couldn't agree more. yet you allow you MIL to shout at you "in front of the kids" and make peace with her afterwards....... She has been seriously warned by both myself and DH.

Eleven years to our marriage and we are now on the fifth phase of mother in law not talking to us. She gets upset, says she won't talk to us ever and then restarts after a few months. However this time, the situation seems worse and as much as we are trying for a reconciliation she is refusing to respond. Its very hard as it takes on a toll on the marriage but the saving grace is father in law is ok and coming to visit soon. I have tried to still respect them and be polite whenever we meet. Living in different parts of the world is a big help as the saying goes, distance makes the heart grow fonder. ;) My MIL is the same. Last time we visited, she told us we were never welcome again and shouted at us in front of the kids. I am always the one that has to call to patch things up between DH and her. She drives me nuts and to be honest, if she wasn't family, I would never even consider befriending her but family is family.

Princess_I, I am shocked that you would blame obesity on BB's and iPads, how wrong you are. NO - the child spends all his time on them and does very little else........ that's what i meant..... She's not that wrong! Obviously not everyone who owns and Ipad, BB etc is fat :) But technology in the past 100 years has done nothing to help the situation. Many kids come home from school, throw their bags down and go straight to playing games, computer instead of being outside playing like we were. It is not the only contributing factor of course but it sure hasn't helped. edited by derien on 04/12/2011

I was visiting a friend in Meadows 6 last Sunday and saw 2 police cars at the gate. I wonder if it had anything to do with this incident. There appeared to be a policeman talking to a Mother and her daughther along with the security guard from Meadows. That is very scary

Well hands up - I'm a mum who doesn't agree with cakes or treats at school. Not for any allergy reason, which is serious reason enough but simply - why? Why do parents feel the need to send in cakes to celebrate their LO's birthday? When did this all start? I certainly never had it at school. I'd far rather my DD's ate their lunch I have packed for them rather than be fussed about a sugary cake/lollipop/whatever that the teacher has to then dish out to everyone when they could be doing something else like LEARNING. Well I'm one of the Mums that does send in a cake for my child's birthday so she can celebrate with all her friends rather than have to spend a fortune on a party for 40 kids of which 3/4 lack the decency to turn up. What the is wrong with sending in some cupcakes from time to time. It's not like it's everyday and at our school, it is given after lunch!

A friend and I were having this discussion a few days ago. I am all for providing sweets and cakes and treats on occasions of celebration. Friend on the other hand has 2 celiac children. Every time there is a birthday or some sort of celebration in class her very young children have to be told they cannot have any treats / cakes etc. IF she has been informed by a mum that something will be brought to class she can then send something homemade with her child that day. Unfortunately this does not happen all the time. Imagine your young child sitting in class and being the only child who cannot have a treat? [b'>Yes, it's called life. Enough with the PC stuff. Kids need to learn lessons early. Every kid has to be the odd one out at some point in their lives.[/b'> edited by derien on 28/11/2011

Yeah, normal Mommy reaction to that would have been screaming and cursing & then [b'>a few red bottoms ![/b'>edited by derien on 22/11/2011 really ??? Maybe not the red bottoms or the cursing but I sure wouldn't have picked up a camera. The kids would have been off to their rooms pronto! Then again, those kids are too young to be left on their own anyway

If a person saying 'thank you' is then miffed that they don't get a response back, then whats the point of saying thank you in the first place? Surely you just say 'thank you' to someone because you're appreciative of what they've done and its the way you are, to acknowledge this. You've done your bit, who cares if the person it was directed at doesn't respond! Do you really have to hear 'your're welcome maaaaaaaam' to be satisfied that your 'thank you' was acknowledged?! Its like people who do good deeds and then brag about it, again, whats the point? :) edited by Pomegranate on 22/11/2011 ** LIKE**
