Casual and comfortable, considering you'll be in the same clothes all afternoon for the race and then the concerts in the evening, and like fefi75 don't even consider heels!

I can understand what they are trying to do, there's a certain kind of people that don't go to the beach to enjoy the beach, but rather enjoy the 'sights'. What they should do is to make the beach for families, couples, and anyone else dressed in beach attire, that way its only the culprits that will be banned or taken off the beach.

Hi Ladies I thought I would just share... We watched the interactive faulty towers show last night, and I'm still laughing my a** off!! It was hilarious, they played the characters so so well. If like me you grew up watching the repeats of this 70s show, and loved it, then don't miss it! Its on again tonight and tomorrow night.

Thank you ladies, yes indeed its moth larvae! I'm going to throw away the damaged clothes sob sob, wash everything else and then leave out in the sun, clean my wardrobes with soapy water and then use clorax, hopefully this will do the trick for now. I dont want to use chemicals (have a toddler) and the pest control companies say we need to leave the house for 24 hours! Only time will tell if washing clothes and my vigorus cleaning of wardrobes pays off! Fingers crossed. I'm so annoyed!

In the last month or so I have noticed small holes appearing in my clothes, I just thought it was wear and tear ( old t-shirts etc) BUT all of a sudden in the last few days I have noticed big chunks missing out of a couple of brand new tops!! :( I emptied out my wardrobe, but can't find anything, no insects, nothing, just ruined clothes! Has anyone else experienced this? Did you find out what it was? I'm calling pest control first thing tomorrow! What on earth is eating my clothes?!

DubaiKB, its one of those cute little cradles that swing, usage from new born upto 6 months. I didnt want to sell the items, I was hoping someone knew of a family who could'nt afford to buy baby items, but if i can't find anyone in need then willing to sell stuff and then give that money to charity. If still interested in cradle please give me your email address. Thanks

Anybody know anyone who might need this stuff? Or anyone collecting for an overseas orphanage? Or last resort might just sell it on dubizzle and give the money to charity, but would rather prefer to give the stuff to someone.

I wanted witch hazel last year and searched for it in every pharmacy and health shop I came across and never found it, and I really did search almost everywhere because I was desperate. I only came across witch hazel cleansers but never in the pure form which I needed. Best to try and get it online or get someone to post it out to you.

I have sensitive eyes and wear waterproof mascara, and have tried every single remover from the expensive to the cheap and the best one I found and have used for years now is The Body Shop's Camomile eye makeup remover. Its soooooo gentle but removes every little trace of eye makeup

Has anyone heard of the 'Cook off' charity event that's taking place on Saturday 27th? Its for ladies to get together and cook for the labourers and cab drivers in Dubai. I received an email from 'mother, baby and child magazine' some weeks ago and registered myself, however since then have not heard anything. There's an email address for the lady that runs the charity called 'charity angels' but no reply from her either. Have I missed something? Does anyone have any info for this event? Thanks!

My mum suggested cloves, so for the last several months I have'nt had any problems with them! Just scatter cloves in all your kitchen cupboards and draws and replace the cloves with fresh ones every couple of months.

I've used mobile hairdressers many times, especially when I was pregnant and too tired to get dressed and go out to a salon. And in the last few months used them again, I have a 14 month old and its not always easy to take him to a salon, having my hair done at home works out better for me and my son. I'm using one tomorrow too as I'm going away for the summer on thursday and have too much to do and it saves time if they come to me rather then me taking extra time out for travelling to the salon and back. I think mobile hairdressing is great for lots of reasons.

My mother in law had dialysis at the American hospital last year. I called so many hospitals and American hospital was the most informative which put me at ease so hence chose them, and it was an added bonus that they were also cheaper per treatment then the other hospitals here in Dubai. The staff at American hospital are fantastic, they are polite, efficient and helpful, they made her feel really comfortable. She was very apprehensive at first (coming from the UK she thought she would'nt get the same standard of treatment/ care) but her experience here was very positive and the care and attention she recieved was second to none she said. Bear in mind its very costly - one session is 900aed and mother in law needed 3 treatments a week, as do most dialysis patients I believe. The patient can bring some of their own medication (anything additional they may need) with them and the hospital will use that, thus saving you money - mother in law had one vaccination with her from the UK which they were happy to use here as part of her treatment. Your father in law will need to fax over his medical history, dialysis documents and some blood test results a few weeks before he arrives in Dubai and you will also need to book the sessions weeks before the treatment begins as the best time slots get taken very quickly here. Good luck - make sure you call them asap to get all the info, so you'll know what is needed and by when. The person you should speak to at the American hospital is Raef - just ask for the dialysis co-ordinator when you call. He was fantastic, he deals with international patients and will give you all the information you require.

We have the Chicco Liteway, we purchased it a few weeks ago for our vacation as we have the Mothercare Spin which is too heavy and bulky for travel. Anyway we all love it! It has so many great features: Its very lightweight, easy to fold and SO comfortable, the padding on the seat is the best I have seen on a stroller. The recline is excellent and DS falls asleep so easily in it, and one of the best things about it, the hood can come all the way down and works as a shade against the sun. and its very easy and comfortable to maneuver. LOL can you tell I love it? edited by desertrose on 25/04/2011

My mother in law had Dialysis at American hospital last year, she was on vacation here from London for a month, and her experience with them was a good one. Excellent facilities, very professional, kind and helpful. I called every hospital in dubai for her and then went along to visit the department in each of the hospitals I shortlisted. American hospital were the MOST helpful and it was a bonus that they also turned out to be less expensive then the others.

Hi Ladies, We currently live in Dubai and my DH has just recieved a job offer from Qatar. Just after some info on housing and general lifestyle... Can you recommend some good agents please with websites, what are the prices like for a 2/3 bed Villa? We've heard that accomadation is more expensive then Dubai and that Qatar is boring....Yikes! Has anyone moved from Dubai to Qatar? If so what were the main differences and is life better or worse for you. I'm just so used to a busy lifestyle here and think of Qatar as Dubai 10 years ago....I also keep thinking I'm going to get really bored :( I realise its going to be a different life in Qatar, but please tell be its not all doom and gloom! Thanks in advance edited by desertrose on 14/04/2011 edited by desertrose on 14/04/2011

OMG I've been suffering with joint pain for the past one year just after I had my son and have been putting it down to post-birth aches and pains. Sometimes the stiffness is so bad in my elbows that I can't bear to pick my son up because of the pain.

Your body is made to go through childbirth and it will cope! I had my 1st last year and was terrified, and my labour was long 30 hours and I tore badly, but like other posters have said, the pain from my stitches was far worse then the actual labour. Once you have your baby in your arms you REALLY do forget the pain, how else would women keep wanting more children, if it was really that bad we would all only have 1 child each! Good luck with it all, and don't worry about PND either...enjoy your pregnancy and enjoy your baby when it arrives.

Thank you so much everyone for all the great info! We booked Intercontinental in Amman for 4 nights and The Movenpick for 2 nights in Petra...really looking forward to it!! I heard about the strollers being a bad idea in Petra, we are going to use our babybjorn carrier, I think it'll be ok...hopefully! For those of you that travelled there in March, what was the weather like? When we booked the hotels they said to us it was 25c during the day in Amman and Petra was around 18c but on the weather websites it says max 15c- min 8c....so don't know what to expect. We will of course take warm clothing with us, and are not too bothered about it being a bit cold/warm rather then hot...we are from the UK so used to the cold and will be a welcome change!! lol :)

I called Emirates, Belhasa and Al Ahli drving schools, because I too haven't driven since moving from the UK and so scared of driving here so want to take some lessons to get used to the roads and drivers here. Lots of people told me not to waste my money and just drive with my husband but to be honest I know I will feel better driving with a professional who has insurance for drving students - God forbid if anything should happen at least I wont be crashing my hubby's car!! Al Ahli are cheaper then the other two schools and a friend of mine has taken lessons with them and said they were great. You have to book minimum 8 lessons, you can take them all in 1 day or split them up, they are 30mins each so 4 hours of driving time. I'm booking mine for next week. Just google them to get website address. Good luck :)
