Where in the supermarket did you find it? Which supermarket did you use? Do you know if there is a difference between Pakistani and Indian safi? Is it safe for teenagers? TIA and sorry for so many questions! I think both are more or less the same, I usually prefer the Indian one but use the Pakistani safi if the Indian one is not available. I would say it is a MUST for teenagers as they are the ones who suffer the most with all the hormonal changes.

Thanks. I took it last night but had the worst sleep for a long time. Can it affect sleep? Should I take it in the mornings? The instructions said either morning or night. Sorry for the inane questions. Hey, I always take it at night and I don't know anyone whose sleep gets affected by taking safi. But yes, if it suits you better, try taking it in the morning. Start with just 1 spoonful a day instead of the 2 suggested everywhere just so you get used to it. Hoping to hear about your clear skin soon!! :)

How about you both meeting her together? She'll be able to accept this fact better this way and you stand a chance to know more about how and why they broke up and her reasons for running after your boyfriend for so long. Your boyfriend can also block her number from his mobile and block her emails etc.

I have seen vanilla in all chocolate cake recipes that I came across although I am quite new to baking. I always add it but don't feel any vanilla flavour in the end product.

Thanks ecochic, but in my case, the salary raises were also done via memos and so was the reducing of the salary. They are saying that since I did not raise a question to the memo when I first received it, they took it as my acceptance. Their point - if u accepted a raise with a memo, why not the reduction or the split. The contract is of a much lesser amount and my salary increased a lot during the 5 years I worked for the company. The amount though was updated at the Media City - this is what I was told anyway. How should I proceed? Shall I first go to the MoL/ DMC and see what contract they have for me?

Ok, so I spoke to the company and they do not want to do anything about it. They are ok if I go and complain at the DMC. According to them, if I did not reply to that memo saying something is wrong, this means that I have agreed to what the memo said. What should I do? Also, if I get my visa cancelled with them and the case is still on, can I get a visa for another company for a new employment? TIA

Desi girl> Do you mind telling me where I can purchase Safi? Thanks. I get it from India but it is available at Al Adil stores, hyper panda and sometimes lulu. The Pakistani version os safi is also available at major Indian/ Pakistani stores. It is the most effective thing that I came across for clear skin. It can also help one for losing weight btw.

Ok, 2 options that will work for sure. Either try having a tablespoon full of Safi, an Indian ayurvedic blood purifier every night with warm water and you'll have clear skin with no marks or discoloration long term. Or apply turmeric on the pimple and it'll go.

Hi Desi Girl, yes we are neighbors - at the bottom of the building is Roots Salon and Medina Supermarket. Little_Zuzu I am sure you will like Barsha 1. I just wish we had a pool and a gym. Yeah it's the same building then!! haha, we are neighbours, it's a small world after all!! :)

1800 sq ft seems really huge , for 70 k a year, that sounds good. It's a bonus that its so close the Barsha park. How far is it from MOE? around 3-4 mins drive from MOE.

Unfortunately here if you don't like M&S and are above a size 12 work clothes are hard to find! Debenhams is probably your best bet. Evans is worse than M&S with really poor quality clothes IMHO. Checked Evans at Debenhams but as you said - it was worse than M&S. But found suits under Collections at Debenhams.

Ok, so I went to Debenhams, MOE and bought two amazing suits from Collections. There was a wide variety to chose from skirts/ dresses/ pants with a jacket. And a full range of sizes, sizes went up to 22/24.

Have you tried Sacoor Brothers? I love their suits, amazing fit and a tailor in store to alter what needs altering. I'm not sure about their sizes though. My husband buys his suits from Sacoor and they are good although not much variety for women and to find the sizes is a pain too!!

Hi, You'll surely need a DED license. You'll need to find a local sponsor(you'll end up paying him 10 - 12K annually). You can get sole proprietorship. You will then have to make an annual contract for the shop. Register the name of the business online or at Tasheel. Once you get the name and the initial approval for the business, you will have to apply at DED along with the initial approval and the annual shop contract. This should cost you around 10k . The rent for the shop is separate. For most of the businesses, they do not need a cash deposit or guarantee of 200k or 300k anymore. Good luck! edited by Desi girl on 24/11/2012

Thank you so much for the response DG. If you don't mind, can you tell me how big is your apartment (how many rooms) and what annual rent are you paying? Hi, The apartment is 1800 sqft (at least that's what the agent told me) for a big 2 bedroom apartment with a big kitchen and a laundry room. I think Mahr lives in the same building. It's the one opposite Al Shaya building that has Lifco supermarket. No pool or gym but it is very close to the Barsha Park and we go there for a walk/ jog everyday. Everyone who visits our home is surprised at the size and yeah there are 2 balconies too facing Burj Al Arab and we get to see all the fireworks at Atlantis :) Oh and we pay 70k per annum. Just renewed my contract this month. And yeah there are some apartments available right now. edited by Desi girl on 24/11/2012

Hi, We live in Al Barsha 1 right now and I think it is the most convenient place to live in right now. With MOE being so close and plenty of restaurants, groceries, supermarkets, nothing is difficult here. Please check that your apartment and building are nice coz not a lot of apartments are spacious. We were lucky to find a huge apartment for ourselves which is a 5 minute drive from MOE and is yet isolated, so not really crowded roads and stuff!! Good luck!

I am size 16- don't waste your time at Banana Republic or Massimo Dutti- great stuff but won't fit you. I agree with M&S and Debenhams is the best for proper fitting well tailored work clothes for girls over size 12- guess I must be out of style too lol I can never find stuff at Massimo that fits well, just makes me feel sad and VERY fat, so certainly not going there. From size 6 to size 16 in 2 years coz of hypothyroid still hurts and not finding my size anywhere does not help!!

I have a big breast size with a smaller waist size so to fit properly, I usually have to buy a size bigger that would fit the top well. Also, my tummy's not exactly flat right now, anything that can help make it look flatter? :)

I have a cream leather sofa and it was also colour stained with a red cloth. I got it clean using Johnsons Baby Wipes! A friend once told me they remove almost anything from anythng - and they do! edited by mrsg on 21/11/2012 Can it really be that simple? After the professional cleaners could not clean it. Must try ASAP. Thanks a lot!

Speed cameras will get you above 140kms I think. I drive within 160 i.e. at 159 and never got fined. Since the limit is 140 and the grace is 20, we can stay within 160 without getting fined. :)

Was thinking of maybe teaching a class for beginners...let me know what you think! http://pastryschooldiaries.blogspot.com/ thanks :) Such a nice blog, I am looking forward to trying things. :)

I have an appointment in Sharjah, near Mega Mall at 9.30 am (not today!). I live in Al Barsha. Does anyone have an idea how bad the traffic is and how long the drive will take? Until now every time I go to or come from Sharjah I end up stuck in traffic for 1,5 hrs. I am not sure which road would be best. SZR is probably the worst. Maybe Emirates Rd is the best? Hi Lina, Just go towards motor city and take the Emirates Road from there going towards Sharjah. That is definitely your best bet as the road is not actually crowded till you enter Sharjah and you can drive at the speed of 160. If you are going to central Sharjah, take the Al Khan exit, a little before the national paints bridge which will take you directly to the City Centre.

Hi Everyone I just checked the DNRD website and didn't find what I was looking for. What is are differences between a work permit and a residence visa. Can someone on a work permit still rent a property? get a contract car? etc..... Work permit and residence visa are the same if you work somewhere.....at least the use is the same. If you are on a work permit, you can rent a property, buy or rent a car etc.

Hi Ladies, Please recommend a reputable endocrinologist in Dubai. I need to get my vitamin D levels and hormone levels checked. Please advise. TIA After trying all kinds on docs in Dubai I have now started going to the Imperial College London Diabetes Center in Abu Dhabi for my hypothyroid and diabetes. I think the doctors are well updated and give you personal attention. I see Dr. Mouga there and she's always very attentive and pays attention. My vitamin D was also very low and now I am taking supplements. http://www.icldc.ae/

Sorry but I don't think Desi girl's directions are correct. Follow Umm Suqueim Rd in from the Ranches. At the last traffic lights, where you would normally turn left to go to MOE, make a U turn and then almost immediately keep right into the new slip road. Follow this slip road parallel to Umm Suqueim Rd and Creative minds is on your right. I am sorry, I thought she's looking for MOE, was not sure if creative minds is in MOE.

Follow umm suqeim road from arabian ranches. keep coming straight till you see emirates NBD bank to your right. go straight from the emirates nbd signal and turn left at the next signal. You will be able to see mall of the emirates towards your right on the same road. I hope that's what you're looking for. Not seen any fabric stores in MOE. What kind of fabrics are u looking for?
