she was asking if our company is hiring at the moment, and, if so, for which positions. so i asked why she would move from teaching into corporate and that's when she divulged the information. i was surprised and asked if the school knew and she said yes.

that's the thing AnonDubai, she's single and on the school's sponsorship. wasnt there something about KHDA implementing a rule that all schools have 3 ( or whatever?) years to ensure that all teachers are properly qualified? or am i dreaming?

This is actually very common, though unfortunate. Is it a primary school or secondary? primary

i'm also getting reviews/quotes for having this procedure done. dr mani quoted me dhs.35,000. dr viel quoted less. dr khan is very popular so he is next on my list. sarahlou123, do you mind me asking a question? you are very happy with the results but in one thread you said in hindsight you wish you had gone a little bigger. may i ask what CC implants you got? thanks

great ideas ladies, but we both work and i can honestly not see dh getting home at 7pm, glued to an ipad. i sometimes take the laptop and surf youtube for hours ... dh gets bored and goes outside LOL all of the things mentioned you can do on a laptop, except put it in your handbag. is it buying one just for the sake of it? (i mean, for us ... not you) fairycakemum, but i thought you couldnt sync your ipod with your ipad?

been to life pharmacy on al wasl once but my doctor is at city, so i get my 60mg directly from there now. after my scans, i pop in at the pharmacy ... so much easier. was at welcare hospital on sunday & thought i'd get my next batch whilst there only to be told by the pharmacist that 60mg is not available in the uae market! i told her that i've been getting 60mg at city hospital for the past 5 months and i think it's very unprofessional and risky for her to tell people that. she gave me 80mgs, 40mg and 20mg and told me to inject to the little indication on the injection!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks suznz :D

i'm with dr sant, not sure if she's covered by your insurance. been with her for many years, and am totally happy with her. i'm in the same boat, no friends who are pregnant. i have a couple of colleagues though and we've started swopping stories & going to exercise classes together - it makes the world of difference. it's also a struggle being so far from family. i'm not complaining, just an observation. thank goodness for technology (skype etc) because i'm bombarding my mum with all sorts of things. i hope you come right with dr elsa. i've read really good things about her on this forum. x

we had roll out grass done, in this heat. in the beginning DH watered at 5am and 8pm. then one weekend he put "lawn food" on - you can buy it at ace - and the grass has been growing like crazy. my DH now only waters at night and our grass is thick, has spread and looks lovely - even though its summer. good luck & have fun doing the garden up!

Even strangely has prompted someone (I guess who is connected with or started this thread) to call in the Dubai 92 Radio this morning and get the announcers to say that for the rest of us (non-EK employees), don't be 'jealous' of our discounts!!! edited by Pomegranate on 28/06/2011 edited by Pomegranate on 28/06/2011 did someone really do this? i'm gobsmacked

knock knock knock we've never had to claim. the sprinkler system in our brand new villa went off 2 weeks ago (the alarm beeped and our neighbours contacted us). we rushed home but - thank **** for dubai's shoddy building work, the sprinkler system was not connected to the water mains as there was no fire and all our furniture would have been ruined for nothing. my dh has never been on the phone so fast to all and sundry. the fire department was there and *shock horror* could not believe their eyes (yeah right). needless to say, we are now completely connected to the water mains and hope and pray that the sprinklers dont go off again, unless in the event of a real emergency.
