it's a very low number, but then you're in very early days. no one can give you any authoritative guarantees / reassurances except for your doctor. every pregnancy is different, and a low hcg count - although not optimum - is not always necessarily a bad thing. the best way to test a viable pregnancy is to have bloodtests done every 48 to 72 hrs, if your hcg count doubles, it's a good sign. have a look at this http://www.americanpregnancy.org/duringpregnancy/hcglevels.html please speak to your doctor. good luck x

I gave up flying with EK years ago. Cramped economy seats, surly bored crew and bumpy bumpy flights to Europe all the time. Last year by a fluke went BA and now a total convert, in spite of the strike threat. Comfy flight, cabin crew were not glam but at least you got the impression they were competent, and a smooth turbulence free flight. I don't just look at cost, value for money is more important. couldnt agree more. at our company (mostly) all business travel is done with EK but when they have to pay for their personal travel, they choose air india, gobo-gobo air or anything that's less than a buck ... go figure

the question is why on earth would he want to leave nz? :D i used mobile hairdressers before. it's comfortable and easy and much cheaper than salons. my only problem with it was washing my hair hanging over the bath. it's uncomfortable and quite a sight! good luck to your brother in law!

just wanted to add 1) i was not gassy at all 2) mine was not a big op - they inserted through my mouth, then filled it up with saline solution with some blue colouring and 6 months later it was removed the same way - device down my throat, emptied the balloon and extracted the balloon. i didnt even have a sore throat. dr tarek advised that in case of leakage - which is highly unlikely, but possible in certain instances - my urine will be blue LOL and i'd know that way to come in & see him. fortunately, that never happened to me. ;)

i had the gastric balloon done about 7yrs ago. i didnt do it through cosmesurge, but with dr tarek saleh. the insertion was quick & painless (i was under general anesthetic). the first week was h3ll, i could literally only sip liquids through a straw and was cramping like crazy. i persevered and got through that first week. 6 months later it was removed and i had lost 15kgs. it changed my life and i cannot praise dr saleh enough. i was expected to work closely with dr tarek, a nutritionist & dietician and followed a maintenance diet for 3 months after the balloon was removed. thereafter, it was up to me to stick to seeing the n&d. i didnt but i changed my habits, and have kept off the weight. the balloon kick started my weight loss journey and really did give me a new lease on life. http://www.doctor-dubai.com/dr_info_display.asp?dr_id=1320

no johjoh, she didnt get fined/charged at all. it was an emirati lady at passport control (abu dhabi airport), and we stood close by in case of anything - money in hand to pay! - but she stamped and waved my mum through. absolutely no hassles.

i went in with my 2 gfs whom never been inside the boutique ever, so i took them in. but i never own any 1 piece of their products, anyhow, the 1st sales person was just so-so but the 2nd one was abit snotty... so i asked her to her face "are you unhappy today?"she got the message. i tend to ask these sales person straight to their face when they behave in such manner. if it is packed with other customers the better! i do this too. i have no qualms asking (loudly) "having a bad day love?"

I don't think sisters are necessarily closer than brothers. I'm not close to either of my two sisters or my brother, even when we're all living in the same country. We have a perfectly polite, but distant, relationship, and sometimes don't see one another for a year or more at a time, which suits me fine - we're just very different people with completely different lives and priorities. The fact that we have the same parents and shared a childhood doesn't automatically make us close as adults. I love them, because they are my siblings, but I don't feel the compulsion to be friends with them, or to be automatically interested in their doings. I'm sorry that you're obviously upset about it, but am not sure why you feel your brothers should necessarily be interested in your life, when they show no signs of it, and why so angry? Why force something that isn't there? Blood just isn't always thicker than water, and you wouldn't keep running round after friends and berating them for not keeping in touch, would you? i cannot believe how you have just described my life, my siblings, my feelings. i've been looking for words when trying to explain my situation to my friends ... i've now found them. eta: another poster said the thought of her children growing up not having anything to say to each other scares her - - i hear the pain in my mum's voice when she speaks about us and how we dont get along / have anything in common / are fine with not having active relationships. but not even that is motivation enough for us to try. it is sad but it's just how things turned out for us. <em>edited by dikane on 28/04/2011</em>

thanks ladies! so as i understand it (through google): - People who do not eat beef, pork, poultry, fish, shellfish or animal flesh of any kind, but do eat eggs and dairy products are lacto-ovo vegetarians. - Lacto-vegetarian is a vegetarian who does not eat eggs, but does eat dairy products. - Ovo-vegetarian refers to people who do not eat meat or dairy products but do eat eggs. - A vegan does not eat meat, eggs, dairy products and all other animal-derived ingredients. I think i'll start with cutting out red meat, then pork (we dont eat it a lot to be honest), and then so on and so on until i'm no longer an animal-eater. but i have to set a deadline otherwise it'll just be ongoing. i just need to educate myself about it as i dont want to be lacking in proteins etc. i'll be in borders tonight to stock up on recipe books. thanks again ladies, and coffeebuz, i'll definitely push your button on this again.

not mortgage related, but a friend did this with his car payments. he lost his job here and couldnt afford to pay the instalments. after a couple of months he got a job in the uk, spoke to the bank and said he'll be leaving & paying from there. they didnt want to hear about it. in the end, he just left without giving notice, paid off his car from there, got another job in dubai, moved back and the bank was none the wiser. they were too happy he was paying.
