i cant stand dorter. if you dont use DD and insists on typing the word, what's the big friggin' difference between typing "dorter" and "daughter"? 2 letters ... saved much time? Because Dorter means dormitory and does not mean daughter....... Unless you have a really really bad opinion of your daughter that is. i agree with you izzy99 ... i meant to say "if you're trying to save time by typing "dorter", you didnt really, did you because it's only 2 letters shorter than "daughter"" ... i agree with you ;)

definitely! i second mum2girls post. i met my DH here and i think another poster ... plumie (if i'm not mistaken) met hers here too. there are others on the forum too but for some reason her name stands out. if you're not a complete t@rt, anything is possible. well come to think of it, if you are a complete t@rt, you probably have even more possibilities! :D we love dubai and i wish i could persuade a friend of mine to move over here. it has been and still is a fabulous experience.

thanks again. the info is for a friend. another 2 questions, if you dont mind: 1. once in an IB school, how easy would it be for a child to integrate back into a US/UK/whatever curriculum school? if they moved home (s.a.), would the kids assimilate well to that country's school curriculum? 2. are kids challenged in an IB school? sorry, i'm not a parent, my friend is & she is clueless LOL about these things but desperate as her daughter will have to change schools in september. i'll tell her to get an EW id so she can correspond directly too. thanks, in the meantime, for your help.

Paranormal activity I Didnt really scare [i'>while [/i'>I was watching it, but two nights later...nope, cant watch it again. My reaction exactly - stayed with me for a looooong time. No way will I watch it again. There are two endings though - I think I saw the one with the scarier ending but I have no intention of checking that out by watching the alternative one! it was on showtime 2 nights ago - scary scary scary!

we've been there 3 yrs and love it. it grew from a construction site to a community with a carrefour express, park & shop, numerous beauty salons, there's even a little playground for children now. the beautification project is in full swing and more grass, trees & walkways are visible throughout. the one lake has obviously been used as the guinnea *** because it was full, empty, full and empty again but they've (i think) sorted it out now because it is being filled and looks lovely. you have 2 metro stations that are super convenient and another spinneys market opening soon. virtually every building has a little market, also extremely convenient. there's an ongoing thread on here, search for it "facilities in jlt" or something like that, it is very useful too. HTH ;) eta: you are right, for now bonningtons is the only licensed hotel there, but the movenpick & grand mercure is due to open in the future too (inshallah). as for restaurants, there are plenty. take a slow drive around both round-abouts and make a mental note if you're driving, or an actual note as passenger, there's a good few choices. i am about to phone nandos to encourage them to open a restaurant in jlt :D edited by dikane on 25/01/2011 edited by dikane on 25/01/2011

i dont have PCOS, no infections, no hormonal problems ... but will ask dr about autoimmune and chromosomal issues. we've had all the blood tests under the sun and last week i asked her if there's anything more we can do & all she said was when i'm ready to try again, we should start with the aspirin / injections PRIOR to falling pregnant. she's also referred me to someone i can talk to because although i'm usually a strong person, these miscarriages have knocked me for a six. i really do need coping mechanisms before i try again. thank you ladies, you have been so helpful. i'll keep you posted.

a teaspoon over cereal, or a drop in my tea as sweetener or if i'm in a hurry, just swallow a spoonful as is - for the nutritional value thereof. for baking, i add a little bit to baked beans - it gives it a really nice, deep taste. oh and you can add it to whatever you baste your chicken with!

thing is, i dont seem to have a fertility problem. it's keeping the babies that's my problem. and that's what is so frustrating because no one can tell me why. :( hence my question, should i go "over my gynae's head" to a fertility specialist to try and get to the root of the problem? miscarriages come from your body's ability not they quality of your eggs/sperm, right?

like zannie, i too have bought a couple of bags from karama that have lasted (still lasts) and are fantastic quality. i have one shop i go to and although he doesnt exchange, he is confident (and with good reason) about his products. although i obviously support child labour (as per some ladies on this thread) i cannot get myself to buy a fake LV bag. that is one bag i really, really want but i wont even buy the real thing here. it is hilarious when you walk in MOE to see "the sorts" with their "LV bags" the karama watches are, however, another story :D

After the morning school run I go to the gym, get my nails done, food shopping etc. Grab some lunch. Pick younger kids up by 1pm - they have their afternoon naps I chill out for a couple of hrs...facebook, watching t.v, EW etc. 3pm school run pick up then straight into dropping kids to any activities they might have. I don't get back home until 5pm. Day done! You should consider getting a driver so that you have more "me" time. **like**

So how do you spend your days? Not judging but would like to know. My mom took us to the local pool 2x a week, played cards/bridge once a week - in the summer, we went to the beach 2 or 3x per week in winter, my dad (and sometimes my mom if my dad wasn't giving her a break) took us fishing, swimming, skating, tobogganing or just for a Sunday drive or a walk in the woods. BTW my dad travelled at least a week out of every month - again, not judging, but what do you do with your free time? After the morning school run I go to the gym, get my nails done, food shopping etc. Grab some lunch. it is disgusting, isnt it? my dh & i were debating the other night whether to start a petition to ban dogs in dubai completely because their owners do not take proper care of them. whether its sh!t on your doorstep or some kind of cruelty, i've never seen anything like it in any other country that we've lived in. shame on all the "dog owners"

I have no problem downloading content to my Kindle. My account is with Amazon.com (as opposed to .co.uk) and my location is set to the UK as the content varies between the UK and the US and the UK has more of what I want. ETA Mine was bought from Amazon.com. They are selling them for US$139 which is AED 510. I'd be surprised if you could buy them cheaper than that here. edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 10/01/2011 sanddy_dogg, how long did it take for your kindle to arrive in uae? btw, i saw a kindle a sharaf dg in ibn battuta ... dhs.1,500!
