We always stay at the Travelodge! It's very central, has a car park right behind it, has family rooms, is very clean and is very reasonable!

I wouldn't say she was on it for life, but she takes the supplements regularly and has done the clean 9 and other programmes. When she started out with Forever she tried out most of the products herself because she didn't want to promote and encourage others to use it if she couldn't say from personal experience that it worked. I have several of the beauty products aswell, ie. the moisturiser, body scrub, facial wash etc. and they are lovely natural products to use. The Clean 9 is a good kick start, I would just say to be careful to pick a convenient time to start it so that you are able to stick to it for the 9 days so that you get the best results. Good Luck!

Hi, I used Clean 9 last year as my Sister-In-Law is an agent for Forever and raves about it! I did lose about 3 kilos, I didn't struggle too much with the amount of food and the supplements were ok. The worst part was the aloe gel that you have to drink, it is absolutely disgusting and made me feel quite sick, I had to force it down! I also felt quite tired and irritable even though I know a few people who have done it who say it made them feel great! Think it really depends on the person, I personally wouldn't do it again. Have you found someone here that can supply the products?

We stayed at Atlantis the year before last and it was lovely and very festive. They had a lovely choir singing at different times and we had a traditional Christmas dinner in one of the restaurants (sorry, can't remember what it was called).

We usually park in Souk Al Bahar and watch from that side, find it a bit less crowded than trying to fight your way through the mall.

Boots do a range specifically to protect against chlorine. I've got the shampoo to use after swimming, there were 3 or 4 different products in the range but I can't remember what the others were.

Come off Airport Road by the Union Co-Op Mall, head towards Mirdif, get straight over into the far left hand lane so that at the traffic lights you can turn left into 71st Street. Golden Gate is up on the right hand side.

I went to have a look at Kidville in Uptown a couple of weeks ago and their cheapest party package was Dhs 2750 which I think is way too excessive for a 4 year old! I have booked Aquaplay at Mirdif City Centre so will let you know how it goes.

Hi Ladies I am trying to plan a birthday party for my DD who will be turning 4. When I was in the UK and was holding parties for my DS I would hire a village hall and have some party games, music and maybe a bouncy castle and provide the food myself. Is there anywhere in Dubai that you can just hire a room or a hall and arrange the party yourself? I am in Mirdif so this side of town would be preferable. TIA edited by DizzyDuck on 05/06/2011

Hi, we were there in February and it is lovely! There are 3 pools, one has a slide for kids and there is a kids club. They bring you lovely iced water and dishes of watermelon when you're sat by the pools and a few times a day they give out ice lollies. There are several nice restaurants and bars and they have a beautiful traditional sunset ceremony. There is also Turtle Village a short walk away if you want to get out of the resort with a few shops, coffee shop, ice cream parlour and a pub which does great food and is a bit cheaper than the resort restaurants. We would highly recommend it!

The BabyDan playpen is brilliant cos you can also open it out and use it as a kind of fence to section off an area of a room so there is more room to play. And ToysRus have 25% off everything until Saturday!

We lived in an apartment there 2 1/2 years ago and got it through Better Homes. As far as I was aware the biggest apartment has only 2 bedrooms and there are no maids rooms. Towards the end of last year someone I know renewed their rental on a 2 bedroom apartment for 90,000 but the prices should have come down from that by now. There are sometimes adverts posted on the Spinneys notice board for rentals there. If you go up 47 Street to the side of Uptown Mirdif there is a service road and the UP Management Office is there, they may know if there are any available. edited by DizzyDuck on 09/05/2011

It is really awful! Half of the rides didn't even work when we went and it was so deserted there was no atmosphere at all, it was like a ghost town. We were quite nervous when our kids went on any rides as they look so old and in dis-repair we weren't sure they would work properly! Definitely would not go again!

Al Mansour Dhow belongs to the Radisson Blu and goes from behind the Dubai Chamber of Commerce building and has vouchers in the Entertainer! We've been on it a couple of times and it's never been too busy, the food was excellent and there was a singer.

I don't have any experience with Star, but my son is in his 3rd year at Royal Dubai and we have been very pleased with the teaching, the staff and his progress. My daughter will be starting in FS2 this September. Our only complaint has been with the Senior Management but the current Principal is leaving to go back to the UK at the end of this school year and we will be getting a new male Principal who I believe is Irish and has prior experience in Middle East schools, so hopefully that side of things will improve.

It won't necessarily be a struggle to get her into FS2, I've got a place secured for my DD with no trouble at all! Don't let the worry of that sway your decision, especially if like you say she is shy, a year at a more relaxed nursery might do her the world of good.

In the British system the 'cut-off' for the year groups is September 1st so if your DD turns 4 in November then yes she should be starting FS1 in September and will one of the older ones. FS1 is basically pre-school so is very much 'learning through play'. My DD turns 4 in July so will be starting FS2 in September and will be one of the youngest in her year. She hasn't been in FS1 but has been in a pre-school class at nursery for 3 mornings per week and they basically do the same 'lessons' and activities that they would do in FS1 but it is in a nursery environment rather than a big school. I don't think you need to panic, do what you feel suits your DD best. Either choose a nursery which isn't full time to ease her in gently for a few mornings a week or if you think she's ready get her into FS1 which will be 5 days/mornings. I'm sure whatever you decide, she will be fine and will love it!

It depends on the airline. I was in the same situation the year before last, with Emirates I would have had to buy a child fare, but with Virgin I only paid for an infant fare but they gave my daughter her own seat on the return flight. You need to speak to the airline you want to travel with before booking.
