http://www.littleswimmers.co.uk/our-swim-products/our-swim-pant.aspx as another poster said - normal nappies absorb too much water to be comfortable or safe...I wouldn't re-use, you have no way of knowing whether they'd been wee'd in !! eta I used to re-use the night time pull-up ones if they weren't used... shoot me now... edited by Doubting Thomas on 09/12/2013

with so many different people here you're never going to get anyone who thinks exactly like you do so what one person raves about could be a load of rubbish for someone else !! Like Izzy says, just download it and make up your own mind... (sorry, have never heard of either programme)

Ladies thank you for your support. Just to let you know. My daughters have been pulled out of this school and now we are on the hunt for a new school. WOrse comes to worse they will be home schooled until the new year. I would love that but both my husband and I work so it may be a little too difficult as they are too young to take on the responsibility alone. Any suggestions would be very welcome :) Sorry to hear that, but pleased your husband has found another job so soon...and there's less than 2 weeks left anyway !!

Yes the forum is the target audience, the ads speak for themselves, however not much luck for the banners if no one is reading them. Pretty soon they'll be heading to Azerbaijan for more hits! they're ok if you're an obese alcoholic with young kids...

Was thinking: what's the deal here. But referring to it as a website instead of a forum makes them attract both advertisers as well as possible clients. If you look at the whole set-up and changes they made over the last 2 years, they're getting ready for that and all our nitty gritty will become a mere sideline. Have you seen how slow this forum crawls? The posters have been sidelining themselves out of action for a while now, while the straggling few left are debating on shampoo vs detergent for the hair!! That, and rehoming their husbands. ? But EW is still quit powerful. If you do a google search on any topic, 9 out of 10 times an EW threads pops up. And look at all the advertisements on the left and in the subject forums. It's ridiculous! yes, but have you seen how old all those google results are ?? they're only still top because nowhere else actually asks the question...

Thanks Redrec, I don't have to fret about a Christmas gift for the maid any longer, she'll be thrilled with that as she does worry about her rings. Hope she pop the gold bangles on there too! I would get her one for her bathroom as well, then you can put in some lovely tea tree and mint fairy liquid 'shampoo' and 'shower gel' like the one Mushypeas maid uses :) edited by Alismum on 08/12/2013 As it's Christmas , why not? Brilliant idea. And don't forget to get her the see through bottle, push the boat out a bit ;) I think the silver bottle looks more classy....

Exactly, which is why they need the traffic

We've been twice now and to be honest, it's not great. Service is very slow and a lot of items on the menu aren't actually available That's because it's a soft opening. It will be properly open sometime in the next few weeks. Having said that, I didn't love the menu. Longest soft opening ever - it's been weeks...

I would NOT order from Mumzworld! I did last year and when I ordered my elf in the shelf it said it came with the DVD, when it came there was no DVD! I called them and they said oh no it's not included! I directed them too their page where it clearly said it was! They agreed, said they would send me the missing DVD and change their page ?! After many calls over a few weeks from me to them, I never got the DVD and would never use them again! The DVD is listed separately - I thought it was just the book and the toy...

Souk Madinat. You can get an abra tour along the water or walk around..there is a photographer on a little footbridge taking tourists' photos posing in front of the Burj just a bit along from where this one was taken... or you can have coffee sitting outside with a similar view..

EW run coffee mornings at different locations every day - a good way to get to meet other women - http://www.expatwoman.com/dubai/monthly_events_whats_on.aspx or you could search Facebook for groups belonging to your community or nearby or you could just google other Dubai women's forums like you found this one..maybe others run coffee mornings or events too..and if you have children the school run is a good way to meet other mums... edited by Doubting Thomas on 07/12/2013

Have been yesterday and it was fab. What did you hear? masses of complaints on Facebook groups... not Christmassy, Lots of Santas visible so having to explain to bewildered children who thought they were going to see the REAL one, lol, expensive refreshments, just a glorified marketing opportunity (which, being Dubai, of course it is...) Based on what I've read so far i'd be thinking twice about going later.. was hoping for some more positive reviews !!

How about we all let the decision makers in Dubai decide what Dubai needs to fix? Well, they're not infallible or omnipotent or all-knowing. They're only human, and they don't necessarily know what needs fixing. [b'>They need people like us making loud noises about the problems to direct their attention[/b'>. I agree, I think EW is like a mini think-tank. In fact a lot of what is written here may make it to Emirates 24/7 and who knows where it will go from there :) Plenty of it already does... but not in a good way.. lol

To be honest, I would miss flooded streets, crazy drivers and loads more of the stuff that you guys want to fix.this is a Dubai. Closing schools for rain is a fun thing. I hear of schools in other lands closing for snow. Me too !! And in the UK the schools close for snow because they don't get enough of it to warrant dealing with it - the same as it doesn't rain here often enough... something to do with being in the desert I believe... lol And if you had seen the snow you would know why the schools shut. I couldnt even get out of my house in my Range Rover the snow was so deep. I don't think either of us were arguing about the schools closing....by enough I meant frequency..

Drainage...! Could you imagine the chaos when it rains with the additional traffic on the roads. no point - it will just get blocked with sand. Not sure about that. A friend of mine designed road systems in Saudi, he was shocked there were no drains here as he installed drains there. so why did so many people die when it rained there last month ?
