I think that this is unacceptable unless you have told her that she can take whatever she wants from the house. [b'>I wouldn't consider this stealing, though[/b'>. I think it's more a case of her thinking she can get away with it. Why don't you just tell her openly that she is not allowed to take stuff from the house? Tell her that if she needs extra food or toiletries, she needs to ask you. And whose clothes is she taking? How is it not stealing ? and incidentally, I also regard nicking stationery from work that you don't need a form of theft

Cleaning shells Here come the unpleasant part (well, at least from my point of view). But you must not get discouraged, performing this step is the only way to have a nice looking collection. And more important, it is sometime necessary for the identification phase. Removing the body You know that mollusks are animal. When seashells are collected alive, the animal is still inside its shell. Even collected beached, some shells can still have the body or part of it inside. So, the first thing to do is to remove the body from its shell, and there are quite a few ways to do it: - Leaving the body to rot: if you can leave the shell in a temperate and wet place, the body will start to rot and to self-digest. After a few days it will become really stinky but rinsing it under a strong water current (a gardening hose will do perfectly) aimed at the shell aperture or valves, it will flush the decaying flesh out of the shell. - Boiling the shells: Just like if you wanted to cook the shells, put them in boiling water and after a certain duration (according to the animal size) you will be able to remove the body. It work especially well with bivalves. For gastropods, use a hooked device to extract the animal. Sometime parts of the body stay inside the shell after extraction, in these case, use an other way to finish clear the shell. - Freezing the shells: I have heard of this technique but I have never been successful in performing it. It is said that after a few sequences of freezing - unfreezing, the body can be easily extracted just like after boiling. - Use of chemicals: Alcohol and formol can be used, it is better with small shells. After 5-6 days of drowning (it is faster with formol), remove the shell from the solution and leave it outside in an open place. The body will dry inside the shell without leaving any discomfortable odour. - Bleaching: Bleach can also be used to remove parts of body locked inside a gastropod spire. Pour bleach in the shell in a way that enable the liquid to reach the bottom of the spire. Leave it for a few hours, during that time the bleach dissolves flesh remains. Then rinse the shell. 5 years is a long time to wait for a baby who may never materialise. Especially when all your friends will be getting pregnant. Torture IMO. There are plenty of women who have to remain childless through no fault of their own.....

If you don't mind second hand you could try joining your community's facebook page (especially the ones for "mums" or "women") - the ones I belong to are inundated with members flogging off all their old baby stuff and clothing....not always second hand either - amongst the dross there are some half-decent bargains to be had !! lol

I tried for a few minutes to find out what this thread was about. Then I was pleased that I couldn't see it. (the headlines on british media had obviously moved on. Not that the people involved in this aren't having horrible time.... ...but if the news isn't enriching your life or fulfilling some need that you have.....please don't dwell on it...you can get old very quickly on dwelling on the dark things that folks do to each other....even if they are far from you .. when I looked I got misled into a story of a toddler being murdered... no shortage of cases like this... enriching and fulfilling seem odd words to use - I don't expect the news to do either of those things...I expect it to inform, that's all

One thing that adds to queues is attendants who are busy washing the windscreen and rear window while other cars are done and waiting to pay and leave; that is a voluntary service and think it should be banned if there is a queueNo attendant in the past 6 months has offered to wash my car's windscreen and rear window, regardless of queues or the relative dustiness of car exterior. Is that service still provided? don't know - I haven't had it offered for yonks...

I must admit that I ahven't really thought about it too hard but I always just assumed that clubbing attire was pretty normal for the school run in a lot of schools. This thread suggests otherwise, anyone got any idea why it's so popular at my children's school? Difficult to answer without knowing which school we're talking about !! lol

Are you looking at any areas in particular DJ? You could get a townhouse in Alma or Al Reem in Arabian Ranches but the fourth bedroom is small. For four full sized bedrooms in the Ranches you'd need an independent villa and 220k wouldn't cover it. we had 4 bedrooms in Al Reem but one of them was supposed to be a "study" (no fitted wardrobe)and easily big enough for a single bed and wardrobe - I believe similar are going for less than 200k

yes, why bite your tounge (sic) ? lol It's true - of course the fact that they have been chill-freighted (or whatever they call it) more than 3,000 miles will make them dearer than local... I find local new potatoes from Saudi have a really nice flavour and aren't expensive..But if I want the privilege of buying products from home I am prepared to pay for it...

As mentioned previously on this thread the regulation part is difficult to enforce, take a walk anywhere where there are expats and you will see many who would maybe not be approved by some as regards what they are wearing. Are ladies who wear gym wear really that offensive or is it rather those who critic are just jealous of their fab bodies? [b'>How often do you see size challenged ladies wearing skin tight Lycra[/b'>? lol Is wearing a sleeveless but classy business dress really that offensive? well, sarahlou, I wonder where in the UK you can escape the low slung jeans exposing the thong top ewwww and tattoo, muffin tops, overflowing necklines etc....walking down our high street is like being an extra on Jeremy Kyle !! lol And I've noticed that exposed flesh is in direct proportion to the amount ie those with the most seem to bare the most !! lol sorry to wander OT.. I was home in Chester two weeks ago and no leggings, uggs or hot pants to be seen! Now if I ventured slightly further afield, through a tunnel then no doubt I would of seen what you saw haha ugh UGGS...now there IS an abomination....just what the..... ewwwww lol

There is quite a debate going on in the UK at the moment about the niqab (face veil) with some pressure to ban it completely or just in public buildings (I think some would like to ban the hijab too). I have been very vocal on Twitter about the state having no role in defining what women should wear and that includes the niqab. Using the same logic I don't think schools should be doing so either. Obviously if I had my way I would totally mandate age / size appropriate clothing at all times. Come to our school, one afternoon, coffee on me and you will completely change your mind. You will see things you have yet to see! Shortest daisy dukes with the highest heels. Yoga tights with tops showing the midriff. Tube tops with breasts about to fall out. Blouses with V backs all the way down to the waist with the bra in full view. I could go on!! [b'>And you should see what the women wear !! lol[/b'> If they don't regulate it, there is no telling how some parents will dress for school. It doesn't matter if it is an Islamic country or not, it is a school and such attire is just not appropriate. Lost! ? edited by Irooni on 25/09/2013 just a joke :-D

Yes, I think they're entitled to ask parents to dress respectfully when on school premises. We should be doing that anyway but tiny skirts and plunging necklines aren't really acceptable here, in my opinion.

Just to add, none of my children crawled until 10 - 11 months or walked until 14 - 15 months and they are all perfect (ish ;) ). and both mine were walking on their first birthdays - which just goes to show the folly in expecting your baby to develop "by the book" ....
