You obviiously are taking issue to this piece of news published yesterday, if you dont find it relevant then eat as many Egyptian strawberries as you like. I found it useful and will be avoiding their produce because Egypt is as the reports states a country "endemic with Hepatitis A" Everyone can decide for themselves how to react to the knowledge. edited by chezmoi on 03/02/2015 The article was tweeted by Food Quality News but when you read in more detail it clearly states strawberries and mangoes then goes on to list other factors... I don't intend holidaying in Egypt any time soon so i'm not really concerned...If it is a problem for you then maybe you should carry out this kind of research on the source of everything else you eat.. Actually, I have found it quite interesting, thanks for sharing !!

The article in Food Quality Review is dated 2nd February 2015. The other report I quoted from Eurosurveillance is dated 29th January 2015. The studies these reports are based upon of course draw data from the previous year. Natuarally it takes time to amass data upon which to publish a finding. The conclusions being published now are a result of a pattern of infections over specific periods of time in people who ate Egyptian strawberries. edited by chezmoi on 03/02/2015 No, people who ate strawberries IN EGYPT - in the Red Sea area to be more precise... Citation style for this article: Sane J, MacDonald E, Vold L, Gossner C, Severi E, on behalf of the International Outbreak Investigation Team. Multistate foodborne hepatitis A outbreak among European tourists returning from Egypt– need for reinforced vaccination recommendations, November 2012 to April 2013. Euro Surveill. 2015;20(4):pii=21018. Available online: http://www.eurosurveillance.org/ViewArticle.aspx?ArticleId=21018 [b'> Date of submission: 07 February 2014[/b'> Thats what I said, the date of the report data is from previous years, the publication of the article I quoted is recent! I said nothing about where the strawberries were eaten, I referred to the harvesting being a cause of the problem as stated by the article. But no one has stated that strawberries grown for export are harvested any differently. Can you confirm they are? It said strawberries and mangoes (plus other berries - all frozen), consumed in all-inclusive luxury hotels..In an area where Hepatitis A is a known disease.. I just think you are taking this out of context and the title of the thread is scare-mongering.. Read the whole report !!

No-one knows what goes on behind closed doors and I daresay men who have affairs fill the woman's head with all sorts of horror stories about their terrible existence and how horrible their wife is...agreed that they are both to blame but he is still your husband's best friend and presumably still your friend... What he's done is between him and his wife, not really any concern of yours however much you want to judge him and that's just human nature..I'm sure i'd find it difficult to think of him in the same way after knowing all this.. You have to support your husband, if you don't it will only make a difficult situation even worse..agreed with the other posters - you can be the better person and tolerate her for the sake of your husband's friendship but no-one will expect you to be her best friend. It will be interesting to see how your husband reacts when it's time for him to do the same for the wife !!

This article is a year old and refers to an "outbreak" in 2012..The point of this is to add Egypt to the list of destinations requiring Hepatitis A vaccinations - none of the 43 cases had been vaccinated.. [i'>hepatitis A remains one of the most common travel-related diseases among European travellers [4,5'>. An effective and safe vaccine against HAV infection is available on the market since the early 1990s [2,6'>. [/i'> ETA further on in the report it says that most of the countries that the victims came from DO recommend vaccination... edited by Doubting Thomas on 03/02/2015

Personally I wouldn't do it - antibiotics are prescribed as a course of treatment and work best if the course is completed, which wouldn't be the case if you were sharing them with someone else.. The doctor should have told you to complete the course even if your child appears to be better..

Thank you[b'> I didn't post about this before though...? [/b'>I have had plenty of practice, including 50 lessons and driving with a licence ( now expired) in the US for over 8 years. It's just the test situation that I struggle with and I was very well prepared today when I failed for undue hesitation. I will probably not have time for another test here so any advice on getting your licence in Dubai would be helpful! Thanks again! Massive angry debate about this on British mums facebook group - people clearly split down the middle !! The only thing they all agree on is the weirdo taking the photo shouldn't have done it or passed it to the media... I can remember years ago in the UK seeing mums put potties in the bottom of their buggies and if I had given it any thought (which I didn't) I'd have probably assumed it was for use in more private areas, not the middle of a shopping mall (if we'd had such things) in full view of passing shoppers !! Having said that, I was once mortified when my child emptied himself on the floor in the ELC and the staff very kindly instantly produced a mop and bucket !! Accidents happen..Giving a stranger an opportunity to publish our partially naked child using a potty is not an accident.. "Myriad" is now my word of the day and I shall be using it at every available opportunity, thank you :)

It's funny, I was just thinking the other day how much nicer it is on here now compared to a few months ago. Whilst I am never a fan of out and out nastiness and picking on people, the debates on here are what keeps things interesting and keeps people logging in and posting. I know I wouldn't bother looking in just to answer people's questions on where to find hot sauce and the best place to shop. Daza, yes I do understand that people debate about things on here and my post is just to draw attention to those who log on just so they can say something nasty or pick on others just for the fun of it. Daza hit the nail on the head - that's why people log on. That's what keeps it lively. To be fair pixxydixxy - you don't know why people log on. I don't think you would find many people here who really do just log in to be a b*tch. There have been times when people have had a go at something I've said - most times I've been able to say to myself "fair point - I didn't think about it like that". Other times, I know I just have a genuine difference of opinion with another poster - that's life.. [b'>I don't I know why people log on[/b'>, and I do feel that this is a great forum, taking what you said it does happen and people take things out of context sometimes but on other occasions people do say hurtful things . Yes you do - they log on [i'> just so they can say something nasty or pick on others just for the fun of it [/i'>

Like Cheeky Monkey, I've been here a number of years and newbies like yourself regularly come on to tell us off for not playing nice.. Well, I find that accusation unfair and simply not true...To be honest, I think a passive aggressive thread like this is no better than the comments you complain of !! As with real life, if there are people or opinions you don't like, simply ignore them..much better for the blood pressure !! lol

It depends on the nature of the post. If you're asking for directions, then you probably won't get much in the way of 'debate'. However, if you post about a relationship, or are asking for advice, then - [b'>you know the nature of this forum[/b'>, if you don't want to hear what people have to say - don't post! If you genuinely want the advice of women who have a vast array of experience then this is the place to come. If you want a pat on the back or a counselling session - you can call a friend, or pay for the professional advice by the hour. Clearly the OP doesn't and that's the problem !! Sorry if you feel some posters are too blunt, unfortunately that's the way of forums, especially this one..I don't believe anyone is rude or unkind here just honest and sometimes maybe that's not what an OP wants to hear..

I think some of the posters on here could be a bit more respectful of the fact that French mums are clearly concerned..being told that the Police know what's going on is small comfort when you are being singled out because of your nationality... I hope they see fit to make their findings public soon so that the worrying French people can feel re-assured..But it does seem an odd thing to happen...

What about the visa on arrival, there is currently no fee for that, has that been changed too or is this new rule only about the visas for citizens who do not get VOA where you have to apply for in advance? If visa on arrival citizens can not longer extend visit visa by another 30 days as before then that would do away with making visa runs across to Oman as well as renewing at the dept on Immigration. That would be very life changing for a lot of people especially job seekers. edited by chezmoi on 21/01/2015 I don't know what impact the changes will have on those going to Oman, and whether it affects everyone including those who get visa on arrival. Maybe they will have to get a 3 month VOA instead??? I wonder if this 3 month visa can be extended? edited by Alismum on 21/01/2015 How do you get a 3 month VOA? I don't know Polly, perhaps they will give the option on arrival. Maybe someone who is coming in the next week or two on a tourist visa can tell us? It's only in the news today [i'>(XPRESS could not get an immediate confirmation on the new development)[/i'> so no doubt there will be clarification in the days ahead (one would hope :) ) http://gulfnews.com/news/gulf/uae/government/tourist-visa-cost-goes-up-no-extension-allowed-1.1437853 edited by Alismum on 21/01/2015 It was in the paper just after the new rule came in on January 1st...nobody understood it then either !! lol

At least we get the option for both up and down thumbs - on facebook there is only a like and a dislike option has been debated for ever but still hasn't happened.... and I agree that admin are usually quick to respond to feedback, they are also quick with their rubber too which, to be honest, is even more disheartening than the red thumbs...nothing worse than putting a lot of time and effort into a post only to have it unceremoniously disposed of... Other forums do have rating systems but I don't know enough to know if they get the same abuse as the thumbs here - the only one I know started off with a "kudos" arrangement where each member's rating increased with kudos points given by the others...it was removed as most people felt it was unnecessarily judgemental...And that's the point - why DO posts need to be judged ? who cares if it's a popular post or not, does it change the quality of the content ? No. All it does is put people who don't have a thick enough skin off posting again in the future... But, if they weren't here the forum would be even slower than it is !! lol

No - read my post, I want to see more women in the work place to change and influence government and the betterment of mankind. Unfortunately, this will only happen through the lobbying of governments by commercial enterprises and if there were more women in the senior management you'd see more lobbying of 'emotionally' intelligent change. Pressure for a better world longterm not a short term buck. I guess this is very idealised but look around you who is leading this world and look what is happening - sorry but it isn't the SAHM Personally I feel fortunate that I have been able to be the main figure throughout both my children's lives..Trying to make SAHM feel bad for not making what you feel is a valuable contribution sets women back 50 years !! And actually, now that we are all welded to our computers you may be surprised to learn how many women manage successful careers from home...
