They replied from that email address when I complained about Mum and Dad's flight recently. I don't know why they bothered, though. Their response was pathetic.

I just confirmed with BA, Virgin and Emirates that if you're travelling alone with two infants, one must be booked as a child and have their own seat. Emirates said something about a restraint for the seat and Virgin will apparently give you an infant seat for one to sit in.

For those who've made this, was it easy? Let's just say my last attempt at baking ended up in the lake behind the house and even the fish didn't want it.

Do you mean you need something to raise the seat so you can get in it? The seats suitable for limited mobility passengers in economy have a moveable outer armrest so you can lift it up to get into your seat, if that helps. My dad had a less-than-perfect experience with them recently. We hadn't pre-booked a wheelchair as he was OK in the days leading up to their flight but he found himself struggling on the day, so we asked at check-in. Getting one then was easy as pie but then Mum asked on the flight for one to be arranged on arrival. The crew never got back to her and when she went to query it with the supervisor, she was asked if they were in business and when Mum said no the girl said, "Oh, the crew must have forgotten." And that was the end of that, so Dad had to walk through the airport and just stop every few yards.

I got my P&T Vibe online in the UK and had my Dad bring it over. It was GBP488 - not sure how much it is here if it's available. To have it Shop & Shipped was about 800dhs if I remember rightly. A friend is using a courier company to bring over an iCandy Peach Blossom and I think it's costing her GBP150.

The car only has Isofix on the outside seats :(. I haven't had her weighed in a while and she's due her jabs (or rather, overdue!) so I'll get her checked for reflux at the same time. Thanks for all the suggestions, I really appreciate it :).

DS probably would hold her hand if he could reach (and probably try and pull her socks off, too) but he's on the other side so too far away :(. I saw a carseat on the Britax site that allows them to lie flat but I'm hesitant to shell out for another seat when I'm not sure what's causing the yelling. And she's flat in the pram and still screams in there so I'm not sure it'd help anyway. She's happy to be flat when she's in my arms! I guess I just have a little diva on my hands. She must get that from her father's side of the family :D. Where can I get a white noise CD from and any recommendations?

I think the teacher needs to learn some manners :). My sister does the same with her kids and her middle one - bless him - gets a bit confused. If he ever says 'I want' or 'can I have' with no please, she reminds him and he then tacks 'please may' onto the end of the sentence! edited by DubaiCat on 24/01/2012

Maybe it is motion sickness, as it seems we can add buggy nightmares to the title :(. I bought a double and I think I just wasted my money! I've tried giving her a dummy but she's not too good at keeping it in - if I manage to get it in, get her sucking on it and zoom off sometimes we're OK, but it's an art! DD hates the car. I posted the other day about learning to manage the two of them and said if I'm lucky she nods off in the car. Well, since then, she's given up nodding off in the car and usually screams the whole way. If a miracle happens and she's quiet, she screams as soon as we stop at lights. Aside from the noise giving me a headache, it's becoming dangerous because it's distracting me and I end up having to turn the music up to try and drown her out so I can concentrate on the road. Loud music + screaming baby + Dubai drivers = not a good idea. Not to mention it can't be fun for her :(. Do babies get carsick? Or is it likely to be that she's uncomfortable in the car seat? She's in a Cabriofix with the newborn insert still in there. I just can't see any other reason why she'd scream the whole time we're driving anywhere. And I'm getting to the point where I dread going anywhere. The air turns blue when lights go red! Any ideas?

February 2006. It rained two days straight. Meadows drive was so flooded with all cars which were not 4x4 stuck with water halfway up in the roundabouts. School closed and houses flooded. Never saw anything like it since. I remember this. DH tried to rescue a lady in a VW Polo stuck in the road behind our house and a big, black Range Rover flew past at normal speed and practically drowned him!

Get one of those little pee protector hat things to put on the offending item! :D Seriously, you are NOT an idiot! I repeat, you are NOT an idiot! Did DS pop out with a manual attached to his bum? Does he parp instructions at you at every stage of his day? No, of course he doesn't. I'm guessing you didn't do Baby 101 at school any more than I did, so of course it's totally natural to be utterly, utterly lost. And I honestly believe one of the biggest problems new mums have is books. Those bl00dy books made me feel like the most incompetent mother EVER when DS was four weeks old. I literally thought everything I was doing was wrong. I wasn't putting him down awake, he wasn't feeding 30 minutes at each breast, he wasn't burped for ten minutes, he didn't have three-hourly feeds. I was a failure. But I wasn't a failure, I was just finding my way, with my son. Not following a generic routine/schedule for a generic baby. When DD was born I was neurotic - absolutely neurotic - about putting her back in her crib as soon as I'd fed her, for fear she'd develop a feed-sleep association and I'd end up with another one who woke every 45 minutes at night. I almost threw her away from me one night because I was so determined she wouldn't be allowed to suck for comfort if she wasn't feeding, in case she always wanted to use me as a human dummy. Granted, a lot of this was in the haze of PND , but I was utterly obsessive about not letting her fall asleep on me or learn any other 'bad habits'. I missed out on a good few weeks of brand-new baby snuggles because of this :(. Don't let this happen to you - trust your instincts and go with it. Just try and follow your baby's cues for now. I think, as H.A.K. says, it''s never too early to start doing things in the same order so baby learns what happens when (I find DD is more settled in the evening, maybe because we do the same thing in the same order every night before bed?) but don't get hung up on having a strict schedule. And one last thing before I shut up. You are doing a FANTASTIC job. Have a bit of confidence. I know it's so, so hard to disagree with people who want to try and help, especially when it's your mum, but just remember although you don't have the years of experience, you do have that unique connection with YOUR baby. I don't think I've ever used so many capitals in a post.... ETA: And one more last thing. Perfect baby? Pah. There's no such thing. Who knows what goes on at night when you're not there? Don't ever compare yourself to another mum or your baby to another baby. All mums are different as much as all babies are different. And besides, hers might turn out to be a complete ratbag toddler while yours will be an angel :D. edited by DubaiCat on 21/01/2012

He'll sometimes watch a bit of a DVD but he thinks books are for cutting teeth on :D. We had a weird day yesterday. She slept literally all day. I've been trying to introduce a dream feed as she's gone from sleeping 7-4 to 7-1, and then waking at least once more before morning. So I've started feeding her before I go to bed (staying up late so I can feed her as late as possible) and she's been going through until 4ish again. Yesterday she fed at 4.45 then 7.45, and after her feed at 7.45 went straight back to sleep. That wasn't too unusual, but then when she woke at 9.30 she fed and went straight back to sleep until 1.30. Then fed, stayed up for 20 minutes and went back to sleep until 4.30! :\: I was a bit concerned but she didn't have any other symptoms, so I didn't take her to see anyone. Now today she's been restless this morning but is asleep now. I'm off to pick up jag's book later so I shall update when I've had a read!

She's how many kilos at two months?! Jeez-oh, that's a great weight! Seriously, give yourself a break. You practically killed yourself doing everything you could. You're still feeding her, nourishing her, nurturing her. You're doing what she needs. You sound like you're doing an amazing job so go easy on yourself! If it makes you feel any better, I felt judged many times when I was breastfeeding DS so no matter how you feed your child, you'll aways find someone who'll pick faults with what you're doing. I was sitting in a friend's garden in the UK feeding DS when her step-sister popped by. She said to me, "Uggh, why are you breastfeeding? You're doing it all wrong. Get him on a bottle then your husband can do most of the work. Uggh, that's the most unnatural thing ever."

DD had horrendous nappy rash from a week of formula in NICU and the only thing that helped when we got her home was Metanium. I don't think you can get it here but I have half a tube if you're desperate. Metanium is like tar and forms a great barrier over the rash but I also like the Seba Med one for healing.

kiwi, that's what I've been trying to do for the past few days (DS has been so bored hanging around the house!) but it's difficult when I can't spend as much time as I want to trying to get her either into that sleepy but not overtired state or actually getting her to bed. She usually feeds a little before she goes down and I want this time to be calm and quiet, but DS doesn't really 'do' calm and quiet! :D I'll definitely try to incorporate a time-for-a-nap routine, though. I really do think that will make a difference and I so appreciate all your help :).

Oh, that's awful news :(. I'm so sorry (and probably tired and hormonal, sitting here with a few tears). But you are so, SO not an idiot. Why wouldn't you think everything would be OK when you've done it brilliantly so many times before? I met a friend last night who told me she's just found out she's four weeks pregnant and she's terrified of telling anyone in case the worst happens. I told her tell who you think will support you if the worst does happen. So it's lovely that you have so many people you know will support you! Including everyone on here, especially since you're so giving to whoever is in need. I also told my friend that she needs to remember whatever happens, there isn't a thing she can do to change anything. You couldn't have done anything differently for a different outcome, not that that helps :(. I know there's nothing to be thankful for in such a sad situation but I am glad you've been so open about it, in a way. You may be dreading telling everyone the sad news but you may just - yet again - help someone out. I think miscarriage, along with many other aspects of fertility (or lack of), is something people sometimes don't talk about and are scared or embarrassed to talk about. Seeing someone talk openly about it may be just what someone else needs. Take care of you xx

Pump between feeds? I can see it now. "DS, get OFF the tubes. Put that bottle down! Leave the switch alone!" I'm trying to work out a routine, as in a sequence of events, but so far the only stable sequence of events we have is bedtime. Which, coincidentally, is the only time I can say for (reasonably) sure she'll go down no bother. Probably a link in there somewhere!

and omg at the poster who actually corrects her[i'> husband[/i'>...blimey, would like to be a fly on the wall in[i'> that[/i'> house lolol Referring to me, by any chance? When he's talking to DS and says 'we done' or 'I seen' then yes, I'll point out it's incorrect. I don't want DS growing up saying 'we done' or 'I seen' because it's incorrect. It's not slang, it's not regional, it's incorrect. If I say something incorrectly, I'd like someone to point it out to me so I don't make the same mistake again. I once told a friend what was wrong with my car - the chief gasket was blown - and he never tires of reminding me of that one! Come on round any time and watch the fireworks :D.

Thanks, kiwi, that's great advice :). I was looking at her today, though, and thinking she looks so much like a brand new baby still and not an 11-week-old. She still has a strong startle reflex, still flails her arms around uncontrollably, doesn't seem to have met many of the milestones in the What To Expect book... should I consider her a 7- or 8-week-old because she was early? I didn't think I should as she was only four weeks early but then a friend told me I should because she's technically premature as she was born before 37 weeks :\:. She just seems so unhappy so much of the time, and I hate seeing her unhappy. I so want to help but I'm torn with trying to make sure DS is happy too. I wish I could clone myself!

I am just about to post on the Maids forum... I think full-time help may be the way to go! I started out not wanting a strict GF-style routine for DS, but when his sleep issues surfaced I definitely changed my tune. While I wasn't military about timing by the clock, I did make sure he got his three (then two, and now one) naps a day. My sister even called me neurotic at one point! If anyone has any GF success stories for breastfed babies, I'd love to hear them but I just can't see how her feeding/sleeping routines will work when DD's still BF. Obviously I don't know how much she's getting - although I so wish these boobs had gauges! - and she seems to like to snack at some times and then take a full feed at others :(. I do want her to have more of a routine, but how without switching her to bottles? I'm neurotically (!) trying to make sure she doesn't stay awake for more than 1 to 1.5 hours and neurotically trying to get her into her crib when she's in that elusive happy but sleepy stage but I just keep getting it wrong :(.

If you eat them quick enough they don't get a chance to make your fingers smell. My ex-housemate and I once ate 16 packets each while recovering from a hangover in front of CSI, and we only stopped because neither of us could be bothered to cycle to Choithrams to get some more.

When DD's two? HUH?! I like your explanation, Green-ish. I've had one day so far when I've felt slightly less like the situation is spiralling rapidly out of control than most days, and I think that's good going for 11 weeks :D. It's just so hard when DD is screaming her head off, and she seems to spend an awful lot of time doing that :(. The two times I did get her down for a nap today she only slept for 30-40 minutes, and I know that's not enough. So aside from her two micro-naps, she spent most of today screaming at me and her big brother spent most of the day thinking up new ways to misbehave while I was busy trying to get his sister to stop screaming. Then DH walked in and asked if I'd mind if he played in a football tournament all day on Saturday.

My nappy bag doubles as my handbag, whereas when he's out with them by himself all he wants to carry is the essentials, so he has a canvas over-the-body bag and I'm on my third nappy bag :D. I've got bras from a 32C to a 36D upstairs, and everything in between! I found my boobs didn't really change until birth, were all over the place when I first started feeding and then settled down to not far off what I was pre-pregnancy after a few weeks. BabyShop do them for about 50dhs so you can get a few sizes then get more when you work out what your size will be.
