I put an album on FB last night and set the privacy to 'friends only'. Now this morning I can see friends of friends have been able to comment on the photos. How?! If I've tagged people in the photos, does that mean their friends can see the photos too and if so, how does that work when I've said only my friends can see them?

Ta. Just as I thought! I was convinved Mum's recent flights here were Saver on the way over and Flex on the way back and she's deleted the email, and EK have given her Saver miles for both sectors (850 quid ticket). Grrrr! Thanks anyway :).

With Ahlan you get to sit in the lounge while the staff go and get your passport stamped. No idea how they do this without you being there, but they do! And they're with you from when you get off the plane until you meet your picker-uppers :D. You can also ask for a porter. I'm pretty sure I've seen a limo service with one of these companies, but I can't remember which.

Not so much accent and pronunciation but DH says things like 'I seen' and 'we done' and 'off of' and it drives me up the wall. How is DS going to learn to speak properly?! I do try and correct him but at his age he's not interested ;). I have a nondescript English accent (grew up abroad) and DH has a strong Scottish accent. DS spends all day with me, five days a week. Little blighter's got a Scottish accent.

If you call Jim Will Fix It they'll either be able to come and fix your washing machine or let you know the agency repair people so you can call them. I've seen a few gas trucks around here but never got the number, although I think the security guys have a couple of numbers you can try. Let me know if you're stuck at home and I'll ask them on my way past after nap-time.

I'd use Ahlan. We used Marhaba for Mum when she came over at Christmas and it was rubbish - all their standard service provides is someone to walk you through passport control. Nobody meets you as you leave the aircraft, you have to find your own way to the Marhaba stand, and when Mum got there, they were too busy so she had to wait for 20 minutes for someone to take a group of them through. And we booked their Diamond service for Dad as I wanted a buggy for him (he struggles to walk distances but hates having to have a wheelchair) and they promised me they'd arrange a buggy and gave him a wheelchair.

I'm sure I've mentioned this before and I'm even more sure it makes our family sound nuts but we all use words the kids have invented in everyday conversation! I've even caught myself asking DH if he wants some stawbilies, or asking my sister if her youngest has ponked. That's strawberries and vomited, FYI :D. Oh, and we recently celebrated Pristmas. Did you?!

DS had lots of ear infections when he was a bit younger, along with glue ear, and his paed said if the glue ear continued it may affect his speech but thankfully it's cleared up now. So it may be worth investigating that angle if you're concerned, LuLee. He's 19 months now and talks all day, but probably only two or three words actually sound like the word he's trying to say! Bless him. It's more sounds with intention, if that makes sense! Kah for car, ower for shower, that kind of thing... I guess I know what he means because I spend all day with him but to anyone else it probably sounds like total gibberish. I really wouldn't stress about it, because it sounds like he's communicating just fine. My nephew is four in April and his speech has only really come on since he went to pre-school. He got so used to his big sister translating for him he stopped bothering to try :D.

I'm insured with Axa and I called them to check after my C-section in October. They said they don't have any minimum time limits for you to drive.

I once had a couple of passengers getting amorous in the last row of economy on a night flight. I saw from a few rows down what they were up to and when I reached their seats, I said loudly, "Hey you two, that's what the bathrooms are for!" So they got up and legged it to the loo.

If you need an ear to bend about the challenges of bf then I'm sure AussiePup would be more than happy to oblige - she went through h3ll feeding her DS to start with and I remain in awe :D. I know DH hates being away from the children and would love to spend more time with them at home. I also know being at home with them - 19 months and 2 months - is as much of a full-time job as his role, but without the breaks or time-outs he gets. Try taking time out for a coffee quietly by yourself with a toddler and a newborn... uh, no. He can do that in his office but I can't do that in mine. I'm not bitter about it, just realistic. If the children were in nursery or school and I didn't work, sure - I'd feel bad not doing stuff around the house. But when I'm looking after them all day and breastfeeding at night, it's simply not fair to expect me to do all the housework as well. Nor is it fair to expect DH to do it all when he works ludicrously long hours in the office or out on site if there's an alternative, so we use part-time cleaners at the moment and will look for a full-time live-in soon. You need to work out what works for you and your DH in your home. Who cares what anyone else does? Some people do think being a SAHM includes doing all the housework and if that works for them, that's just fine. It just doesn't work for me. ETA: I agree with H.A.K. When you're both home, you're both on duty. Unless you agree otherwise for extenuating circumstances :D. <em>edited by DubaiCat on 09/01/2012</em>

I'm looking at going home in February and - as seems to be the norm with me at the moment - have forgotten one rather important detail. DD doesn't have a passport yet. I'm going to do the forms tonight and get her photos done tomorrow but I don't want to book the flights and then not get her passport in time! Any recent experiences? TIA :).

Oh, it's just got a lot more complicated.... DH now says he might come with me for a few days. If he does, both of them can travel as infants on the way over but DS'd have to be booked as a child on the way back. Methinks a trip to an airline office might be a necessity. I'll need a gin just to get the d@mn trip sorted!

I just called Emirates and DS will have to travel as a child and they'll provide a restraint for him to sit in his own seat. Hmmm... never once did I hear about this restraint thing and I flew with EK for six years!

I had very negative experiences with Medcare when I was having fertility tests so from my experience, City. But you'll get good and bad reviews of both, so it might be an idea to visit both and see which you're more comfortable with.

I was literally desperate when I saw her for sleep issues and she literally saved my sanity. I don't always agree with her advice on feeding - although I hear much of it second-hand, so I can't say for sure it's what she's actually said - but her sleep tips were a Godsend for me. I'll be seeing her soon to make sure we're on track with DD, as there's no way in h3ll I want to end up in the same situation with her as we did with DS.

Reporting to the health section :(. I am utterly hacked off. I'm in limbo! I saw the obstetrician and got the all-clear. I then saw the neurosurgeon (scoliosis, two previous disc surgeries resulting in one very unstable disc and a few flare-ups in pregnancy) and he said not until I'd had my hernia fixed and started physio to strengthen my core and prevent the flare-ups. So I saw the hernia surgeon. He says I have such a huge hernia I need a full abdominoplasty - tummy tuck - and mesh to repair the hernia and tighten all my tummy muscles and I have to wait until April to do it. Any thoughts?

Thanks. It'd be interesting to talk to him as the doctor I saw already says there's no way the hernia can be fixed laparoscopically - I wonder if he'd think differently. ShellFC, can I ask what surgery your DH had?
