Leaving it till the last minute as usual :D. My sister and her tribe arrive on Boxing Day, by which time all the beds in the house will be full bar the bed reserved for her and her DH. So I'll need two single mattresses for my niece and nephew. Any suggestions? I really don't want to fork out a lot as they'll only be in use for a couple of weeks.

I read our DP contract and it says a renewal fee of 1,000dhs. We didn't know about the rule when DH signed it, but our tenancy has been transferred to a new owner anyway so who knows if we'll have to pay anything next year :\:.

nothing to do with the playhouse , DC but we are trying to get a house in Layan/Al waha and the ones DP has are backing on the road..Do you know of any other house available in al waha? Sorry, nothing I know of at the moment :(. Our neighbours are moving but they said the landlord is moving in. I see three or four empty ones when I'm out walking the dogs but no signs on them. How many bedrooms are you after?

I read a lot and fumble my way along, is all! :D OK, so did you confirm ovulation via the thermal shift as well as the monitor? And when you say your luteal phase is 12/13/14 days long, can you pinpoint it? A woman's luteal phase normally stays the same, only varying by a day at the most, so maybe your temperatures have been misleading? So 36.81 is the highest it's ever been in your luteal phase, right? I'd take it again tomorrow - at your normal time - and if it's still as high, maybe do one of the early-detection HPTs. When I got my BFP with DS my highest temp in my luteal phase had been 36.79 and on the day I tested it shot up to 36.99.

My DS was 7 months when we worked on his sleep. He'd learnt that he needed me and a pair of boobs in order to get himself to sleep - or get himself back to sleep - and so that's what he had to have. I was a walking zombie, with him waking up anywhere from 4 to 15 times a night and only napping erratically in the day. We saw Cecile and got him sorted with 12 hours' sleep a night and three good naps a day. It took us three days, or thereabouts. Basically all we did was put him in the cot at night after his evening feed, and sit with him patting him and singing to him until he dropped off. Cecile said we could do anything to help him get to sleep except pick him up or feed him. Of course, he protested to start with and we did have some frustrated crying (1h20mins on and off the first night, 20mins the second and none the third) but there were no real tears. When he then woke in the night for a feed, he fed and went straight back to sleep. He had a dream-feed at 11ish then only woke once in the night for the first few nights, then not at all. As soon as we got his night-time sleep sorted we did the same with his day naps, and all it took for this was one nap with 15 minutes or so of grizzling (not crying). Now he goes in his cot wide awake and happy, and gets himself off to sleep no problem. He's done this ever since 7 months.

Eeeeek - expert?! I'm not so sure about that but thanks for the compliment :D. A few questions for you; 1. What cycle day are you on? 2. How long is your luteal phase? 3. What's your normal temperature in your follicular phase and your luteal phase? 4. Did you confirm ovulation and if so, on what day? 5. What was your temp yesterday when you took it at normal time? As far as I'm aware your temperature is meant to be slightly lower overnight, with the lowest point being just before you wake up. So it would make sense that it'd be slightly lower if you woke up earlier than normal. The problem with the second temp is the waking up in between, as you don't know how much of an impact that waking up would have had on the temp. I'd say not much, given that you just rolled over and picked up the thermometer and we all move about in sleep anyway (well, apart from my DH after the rugby!) so I doubt it'd have had much more of an effect than normal sleep movements would. Let me know the answers to the questions and we'll go from there.

Weirdly (and I know it's weird), I have heaps of those type of reading glasses in various magnifications. If you let me know which magnification he needs, I'd be happy to give him a couple of pairs. I think you have my email address but if not use simonegroups at gmail dot com Should I ask why? :D He has - quite miraculously, given that he needs reading specs - managed to find both the screw and the bolt to put this pair back together! You only confirm ovulation has actually occurred after the fact, yes, but if you learn to read your body's physical signs of ovulation you can time using your OPKs for when you see the physical signs and both together will ensure you're 'trying' at the right time. Then you won't spend so much money :D. You'll also learn to interpret your own temperature so you'll easily be able to discard any temperatures you know have been affected by factors such as lack of sleep, alcohol and medication.

It's very easy to miss the surge that gives you the smiley face. From what I understand, the surge doesn't last that long so if you get it at 2am and don't wee on the stick until lunchtime, chances are you won't see a positive even though you're ovulating. A more reliable way to tell you're definitely ovulating is to chart temperatures. It does tell you you've ovulated after the fact, so combining charting and monitoring physical signs of ovulation might be better. Also, if you're monitoring physical signs, you should hopefully need to use less OPKs.

Spinneys have a great Kenwood one for AED199. Lakeland have their own make, plus the Remoska, which has the cooking element in the lid. Apparently one of their best sellers in the UK. Slow cookers are the way forward!! I bought the Kenwood one about two months ago and I love it. Spinneys at Motor City had a bunch of them.

I found a recommendation for one on here and I think her name was Claire. If I remember rightly, she charged 1,600dhs for an hour's consultation but this was a while ago so it might have changed. Let me look through my emails and see if I can find the one she sent me.

Never mind the extra hands, just the adult company has been brilliant! I sent him over your way today and he's all done and dusted. Didn't need a visa as he just went into the transit area :D. One to two was a huge shock to start with, but I think I've just about adjusted now and I have to say one to two was easier than none to one. However, there will most definitely NOT be a three!

Not me, Dad. He came over to give us a hand after we had DD and it totally didn't occur to me he's here for longer than the 30 days you get on a visit visa! Too much hassle to drive him over the border so we're putting him on a plane and then he can swing past duty free on the way home :D. It's an expensive piece of kit to spend on if your DD decides she doesn't like it! I have the Baby Bjorn Synergy if you want to try it out? Then you can use my Shop & Ship if you want to order one from the UK (if you don't have an account). Having moaned about my MIL on here endlessly over the past few years, I actually grew close to her on her last visit. To say I was gobsmacked and amazed at myself would be an understatement. And there's something I just love about my FIL. The fact that he's thousands of miles away and I rarely have to see the disgusting waste of oxygen that he is.

Good to hear she's recommended! A friend also recommended her and said she made a huge difference to her LO's behaviour, so here's hoping :). I think consistency is definitely key, and that's probably what's been lacking especially recently. I've often been stuck on the sofa feeding DD so when he plays up, I've been pretty ineffective. I don't think he has any friends who may have shown him such aggressive behaviour, so I'm even more mystified as to where he's got it from :\:. I can't think of anyone at all I'd prefer he didn't see, unless I've missed something. Ignoring him definitely seems to upset him. I do try and take away whatever he's thrown, and he then doesn't get to play with it. But again, I probably haven't been consistent enough with it. Dad said the other night he thinks I'm over-compensating for DD being around, and I think he may have a point. I've been feeling sorry for him having to share me now, and almost grieving the time we used to have together with just us, so I think I've probably been letting him get away with too much and Dad thinks he's taking advantage. I'm sure he's right but I can't help but feel he's losing out on my time, even though he'll just have to get used to it and he's not alone in having to share attention!

With Shop & Ship you order the item to be sent to my S&S address in the States and Aramex deliver it here. Minimum delivery charge is 40dhs (I think) for around half a kilo then goes up according to weight, so if you let me know how heavy it is I can let you know how much it'd be. You can get something called an AirWrap here, which is the mesh thing mentioned below. It's a safer alternative to a bumper as it's breathable in case baby's face gets squashed up against it. I'll see if I can find where you can buy it :).
