Seriously. I have been waiting for thunderstorms since forever this year. Are we getting them or not?! I am just off to Spinneys and need to know if I should buy hot chocolate and marshmallows. I already got new slippers last week :D.

Good to see you're all still going strong! How many days till you can get back to it, CT? We had a scan yesterday and saw a strong heartbeat, so touch wood all is OK for now. I'm hoping to start Shredding again at level 1 on Sunday but the dreaded morning (sorry, all day) sickness has kicked in and I feel like roadkill. I haven't moved from the sofa or bed all day:(.

Which Springs are you in? Our boys were just barking outside but we had a poo situation to clear up inside so we had to shut them out for a little while. Hope it wasn't them disturbing you! :\:

Well, this one must just be totally different :). We had a scan yesterday and saw a strong heartbeat and all is OK. And I have started feeling sick, which I guess should be reassuring but is actually just a real pain in the butt. I am still, however, utterly convinced I will be utterly incapable of caring for two babies! :D

When I was crew we only ever had a couple of varieties and usually brands like Hero, where pretty much the second ingredient was sugar :(. I had a bagful of Ella's Kitchen leaving DXB last week and didn't even get stopped going through security. Ex-UK, though, they make you open them so it might be an idea to take one of those insulated cool-bag things just in case.

We had my sister and her three children to visit recently so we had two rear-facing infant seats, one forward-facing toddler seat and one forward-facing child seat in our Explorer. We had the two infant seats and the toddler seat in the middle and then the child seat in the last row of seats, and it worked just fine. In the middle row we had the toddler seat on the left with one infant seat in the middle and one on the right.

Mine got a row for not calling or texting all night when he was 'working' in London before Christmas. When I say 'working', I mean 'out on the London office Christmas night out'. Row entirely justified! He's normally good at keeping in touch and gets kicked into touch if he isn't. ETA: I think it's important for him to be contactable in case something's wrong with the wee man. I know he's busy but a quick call or text won't kill him - it's not about insecurity but wanting to know he's OK, and vice versa. <em>edited by DubaiCat on 31/03/2011</em>

It was in its travel bag and needs to be put together once it's out of the bag, so I didn't check it at the airport. I think I might be confusing people when I say 'stroller' - I mean a proper buggy/travel system thing, not an umbrella-type stroller. I guess it could have been broken anywhere along its journey but ultimately BA are responsible for it, are they not? I've left it for DH to deal with. Apparently even if I claim on the travel insurance, they will then claim from BA so I'm not sure why they want me to claim from them first :\:.

Anyone know offhand where I can buy the Shred DVD in the UK? I forgot to bring the laptop and I'm having withdrawal symptoms. http://www.asda-entertainment.co.uk/dvd/jillian-michaels-30-day-shred/10065607.html HTH :) Fabulous - thanks! I had to take DS to the doctor this morning and while I was waiting I worked out on a wall chart how heavy I am now in stones. I nearly fell over.

It was checked in as baggage and in its travel case, which looks just like any other piece of luggage but I did put a fragile sticker on it. I got an email from them first thing this morning. It says they always advise passengers to claim from their travel insurance company first to speed up the process and avoid having to deal with two companies at once! Uh, you broke our stroller... why shouldn't you be the company to pay for it?! Then it says if the travel insurance won't pay, I have to get a letter from them to say they won't pay and send it to BA who will consider paying the cost of repair. So in the meantime, I'm stuck with a broken stroller! I've emailed DH to ask him to check with the travel insurance.

Thanks all :). seriously?! Lol! OMG! "Well done" of sorts (I'm sure it was fun!)... wow! lol (sorry - in shock too!) Gnargh, I want another one! So, is that going to be 2 under 2? And yes, I felt like that for DS... complete surprise, starting off by not being sure that I actually wanted to go through with it and coming to terms with the fact that my neatly planned family plan had been blown out of the water with my raging hormones! After my first pg, which ended at 8 weeks, I never get my hopes up until I'm past the 12 week mark. Just take care of yourself and the rest will take care of itself! edited by Hello.Again.Kitty on 27/03/2011 Thank heavens somebody else felt like that too. Poor DH didn't know what to do when I showed him the test and burst into tears! Poor guy is over the moon and I just couldn't be when I first found out. I know that sounds weird when we tried so hard to have DS, but I just didn't want to have another one so soon when His Little Lordship was so challenging for a while and I felt so crappy. I do feel better about it now, though, and can't wait to find out if everything's OK. I had an early scan last week the day after I found out and the doctor said I was 5 weeks, which would work with my last period. I'll be having another one when I get home probably the second week of April (unless anyone knows if I can have a private scan here in the UK?!), so fingers crossed until then. And yes, 2 under 2..... EEEEEK! :)

Just bought the Pearl from the UK and paid 700aed, it retails for 1250aed over here. If you have the luggage allowance bring it with you. Our weighed 6.5kg's and checked it in with the luggage. Where did you get the Pearl from? DH checked online the other day and found it for GBP160!

DH asked the lady at work who deals with insurance and she's checked with NAS/QIC. Apparently it's all to do with some code you have printed on your card - I guess there are different levels of cover and different codes? But anyway he says ours still covers City, with a limitation of $7,500. If that's right, it's lower than it was last year when I delivered there. I'm not sure which agent ours is but I can ask DH if that will help? Hope you manage to get it sorted. I need to get DH to clarify this limit thing, because $7,500 isn't an awful lot if you consider C-sections and any possible complications. Re the 80% thing, I had surgery at American a few years ago on the understanding that I'd get 80% of the cost back as it was outside the network for my insurance company at the time. What they actually meant was that I'd get back 80% of their 'benchmark' figures for the procedure, so I ended up getting back around Dh23,000 out of the Dh45,000 I paid out.

No potted plants as my cats view potted plants as a deli :D. It was a flea for sure - the one I later caught made that satisfying pop/click noise as I squashed it between my fingernails! My niece and nephew were with us last week and were covered in bites. I thought they were mosquito bites but I guess they could have been flea bites? And the cats and dogs are all scratching :(. The cats in particular have some deep scratches around their neck and shoulder areas. I'd thought it was from the odd fisticuffs but maybe they're doing it themselves?

A flea ran past me on the sofa the other day and I saw one lurking on one of the dogs soon after. Now, call me daft and laugh if you like, but I'm sure I've been told we don't get fleas here so I have no clue what to do. Can I get Frontline here, or another flea-icidal treatment? And last stupid question of the day - do cats and dogs get the same fleas and if so, should I de-flea all four of the sods? And the rug and the sofa and all that jazz?

Congratulations on the news DC. The bleeding was probably implantation, so don't fret too much. If you are already exercising then it is safe to do so during pregnancy, what I always adivise my clients to do is not to start a new type of exercise especially if it's strenuous, but to continue what they are currently doing, bt let your body guide you as to how much effort to put in, you may need to step down slightly. Constant pounding exercise like road running is more harmful than short bursts of aerobics like shredding. Remember that being fit helps for an easier labour. x Thanks, jillp :). I'm just waiting for a call back from my ob/gyn then I'll start doing level 1 low-intensity again. I really, really don't want to let myself go like I did last time - I want to stay as fit and healthy as possible (but I'm afraid it'll most likely be an elective C-section as I just can't face a repeat of the horrendous experience I had last time). Do you think I'm likely to still tone up a bit or will it just be more on the maintenance side now? I was finally getting somewhere with my legs, hips and bum!

Thanks. I really want to continue with the low-intensity Anita version, but I had some bleeding last week (that I thought was the start of my period) so I'm not sure if it's a good idea. I'll talk to my ob/gyn tomorrow. I just really don't want to waste all the effort I've made, and the thought of being an enormous great big heffalump again is really not appealing. I put on almost 30kgs last time and looked horrendous the whole time :(. I hated being pregnant - can you tell?!

Well, my Shredding plans have been well and truly scuppered. I found out last night I'm about five weeks pregnant. Totally overwhelmed, not sure at all how I feel about it and - being selfish and vain - disappointed I won't be continuing with the progress I've been seeing over the past month. I think I need to let it sink in. It isn't common knowledge yet so if you know me off the board please don't say anything :).

If it's the same place as where the municipality vet is, it's at Khawaneej. From SZR go to the airport and keep driving past terminal 1 and 3. You'll go past the new Emirates HQ as well. Keep in the lane for Khawaneej and go past the Arabian Centre mall on the left. I think there is a roundabout (or two) but keep going until you're past the mall and then look out for signs for the municipality vet section on the right. There's a little service road you take and you have to turn in and more or less double back on yourself, then the vet is a little way up on the left. Do you need a lift in the morning? My directions are pretty rubbish but I'm sure I can find it.

Job done. I got there at 2.10pm and was out by 2.35pm. The directions below are spot on! You come past the racing club and go up to the lights where you can see the new Saudi German Hospital on the other side of the new flyover, and bear right. There's no U-turn so you need to go up to the flyover bit where you can loop round on yourself (not the first turnoff to Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi, the one for Al Sufouh and Palm Jumeirah instead). Then keep in the right hand lane and it's the building literally just before the petrol station. DH said the Karama office told him a two-month wait when he went this afternoon but I forgot to ask at Barsha.
