I reckon they'll fit on you once you stop BF. I had a great pair while I was BF and now... let's just say I'm convinced one of these days DH is going to come home and think we've adopted a spaniel. I squeezed back into my pre-pregnancy jeans 8 weeks post-birth (and when I say squeezed, it was literally a jump-off-the-wardrobe-into-them affair) and until I started Shredding, I barely changed. All my tops now have to have an elasticated waistband so the billowing material hides the serious muffin top.

At least he sleeps well at night and it sounds like he's bang on for his age. But not having time to yourself in the daytime, and not being able to rely on a routine, is horrible. Do you stay home most of the day or are you in and out so he has to nap in the car/in the pram etc? We used to be out and about all the time but I've found DS sleeps so much better now he has almost every daytime nap in his cot. For us, his morning nap - about an hour after he wakes up - is key and if he doesn't get this, or it's not a good enough/long enough sleep, the day is off to a rocky start. We can usually rely on the car as a last resort if we're not home in time for his pre-dinner nap but I make sure his lunchtime nap is always in his cot too. Apparently once you establish a routine and baby knows when he or she goes to sleep each day, you should be able to take them out and about more and they'll just nap when they normally do, but I haven't been brave enough to try it beyond going round to a friend's with a travel cot! Too many months of sleep deprivation have made me a bit of a routine freak :D.

Yes, I've had that too. I've tried to order something online and have it delivered to my mum's in the UK, and because the billing address is different to the delivery address they won't do it. I've also had transactions refused because my billing address is in the UAE, and not the UK or the US where I've been trying to order from. It has worked sometimes, though. I guess each retailer has their own policy, maybe?

My card was cloned a few years back and to give them their dues, Mashreq were on the phone to me at 4am checking if it was me using the card in NYC. I was tucked up in bed in Dubai so they stopped the card straight away and refunded the amounts the guy managed to charge.

One of those homeopathic remedies (I think that's what you call them). Dr Smylie recommended it for PND and it seemed to stabilise the PMS as well. You can get it in those stores that sell supplements - I can't remember the name of them right now though. My GP at home said my hormones would still be all over the place while I was still BF and that would contribute to both the PND and PMS.

Glitzi: Will do and post. DC: they do surpise us with random acts of thoughtfulness every now and then eh? When they forget to sterilise bottles/wash LO's dishes/boil and cool water/remember what time DS woke up, yes, it is a whopping great big surprise! It was probably because he got a rollicking for forgetting the bottles the other day :D.

We had a nightmare with DS's sleep both at night and in the daytime. We saw Cecile and she said to work on his night-time sleep first, then move onto daytime naps. I'm not sure if your LO is too small for sleep training, though. How does he sleep at night? If he's exhausted daytime sleep is that much harder to achieve :(.

Oh, I know that feeling. It's catch 22 - do you give in and buy bigger bits so at least you have something to wear and don't feel so bad about yourself, or do you hold out in the hope that your pre-bump clothes fit you soon and feel bad because you have nothing to wear? I bought some bits to keep me going and am in the middle of revamping my wardrobe, because although lots of my pre-pregnancy clothes 'fit' me now, most don't look good any more. I've changed shape. A prime example is my favourite, favourite dress - a silk maxi dress I absolutely adored. I've been working my butt off for the last three weeks and have lost weight, but it still doesn't look good. Grrrr.

We called the police when someone stole a mobile phone and camera from my car on the driveway and again on Friday when I realised jewellery was missing from the house. Both times they came very quickly and were very thorough. On Friday a guy came to take things away for fingerprints, so it may be worth calling them. Your security guys on the gate should have number plates for all cars coming in and out that don't live there, so they'll have something to go on. Sorry this has ruined your first day :(.

There is another study that was conducted here differentiating between type 1 and type 2. Offhand I can't remember what it said or where I can find it, but I do remember being shocked that type 2 was becoming more common in children.

I find frozen meals need a good few minutes on defrost before I blitz them. Last night I was starving and chucked a bowl of frozen chicken stir fry into the microwave on full blast, and when I got it out five minutes later there was a puddle of sauce bubbling away around a frozen lump of stir fry in the middle. Yes need to stir and re zap. Inability to get fork into middle of lump made stirring somewhat difficult! Back into the microwave on defrost while I gnashed my teeth :D.

Mine was frozen a few years ago when I left a job and it worked one day then not the next. Helpfully I was in the UK when I discovered it didn't work.

Day 2 level 3 done. It felt a bit harder today - some of the moves that look so easy are actually bl00dy hard! I seriously need to get a non-slip thing for under the rug. When I did mountain climbers I nearly ended up under the dining room table. Sharpie, I have my sister and her three kids arriving next Tuesday. They can sit and watch me if they like but I'm not missing my Shred!

The Children's Oasis Nursery at the Jumeirah Palm does proper day care, i.e. you can drop off by the hour all day long. Don't know what the age limits are but I am positive that they do take babies under one year of age. A friend takes her DD here and loves it - apparently they do playgroup-style afternoons where you can take them to see how they like it. I'm going to give it a go soon.

Miss A, hope you are doing ok???xxxx They had a few kid-sized tables down one side then one of those play kitchen things, and a rug on the floor with some toys. Not that impressed, to be honest, but then my experience of nurseries is extremely limited give that DS is only 9 months and hasn't been to one!

Thanks again for your super-kind offer but DH did something rather amazing last night.... he stopped off at a Life Pharmacy on the way home for himself (I'm not sure which one but I'll check and post) and - wait for it - voluntarily, off his own back, without being given written instructions, bought six big tins of Aptamil 2! Because 'he knew it was the one DS normally has and he saw it was on offer'. Speechless. But thanks again for your offer :).

Hi everyone! I'd been away for at least 18 days...And I'm not shredding right now :( I have a problem with my right knee for a while now and even thought it was ok for more than a year, something happened on the 18 of February and i cannot move it properly...I'm even wearing bandages to walk around... Not to talk more about my knee wich i hope will get well soon to keep working out...I just want to let you all know that i've lost 4.5 K during the 18 days i did work out...I feel amazed that i could fit in 3 of my pre-pregnancy jeans, the sad part is I already put on 1 K since I stopped shredding... So anyways I hope to join this thread soon...Gos Bless you all. Wow - Jillian would be proud! So sorry to hear about your knee and I hope you're on the mend soon.

Shucks, I was just about to ask for the number :(. I really thought we'd found a good one with this agency because the maid who came every week was really good at her job. Back to the drawing board. I had to pop back to the police station this morning as my phone rang at 10am and it was the maid agency. The police had told me not to talk to them, so I tried calling the station to ask their advice but got nowhere and ended up going in there to ask what was happening. I'm none the wiser now :\:. I really wish I spoke Arabic and aside from kicking myself that I didn't take better care of my things, I'm now also kicking myself that I haven't got off my backside enough to learn the language. I think the policeman said this morning that CID would have gone to the agency by now and that was probably why they were calling me. I have no idea if they searched the accommodation, though. What makes you say they might not, A Rancher? I guess if they don't I have even less than Buckley's chance of ever seeing my bracelet again :(. The policeman taking my statement asked me what I wanted when I was there on Friday night - did I just want my things back? And I said yes; I'm not sure if he meant did I want her flogged and deported?! Right, I popped over this afternoon. It's 35dhs per hour for the drop-off service in the afternoons after 1pm and they take toddlers from 2 years old. Nursery is for 18 months plus.

Not in Healthcare City. Drive as if you're going to Healthcare City, but don't turn right down the road to Healthcare City and City Hospital. You'll come to a set of traffic lights with the Canadian Specialist Hospital on the right, and the left takes you to American Hospital. Go straight over. You'll go past KM Trading shopping centre on the right - an old-looking building - and on the left is the new Metro line. Keep going straight, past the church (I think St Mary's?) on the right, and a little bit further up will be a signpost for Rashid Hospital. It's just before the turning for the floating bridge, I think.

After the disappearance of my jewellery the other day I have started to think I'm unappreciative of the nice things I have and need to take more care of them. Does that make me materialistic? I loathe obvious labels, though, so I guess I'm not. I'd go for subtle quality over a blaring logo any day.

We were told at American that if you need any kind of police report for an injury - we went because DH tried to break up a fight and was injured in the process - then you have to go to Rashid as it's a government hospital and the one that deals with trauma. JUst FYI in case you're involved in an RTA or other accident needing a police report.

So anyone can go to Rashid in an emergency (where is it, please, for future reference?). Reminder to self, must go get Emirates ID card.. Take the Wafi turnoff from Sheikh Zayed and go straight down as if you're going to Bur Dubai. It's a little way along the road past the KM Trading shopping centre and the church. Does that make sense? I'm rubbish at directions! It is signposted though. I think the road might be Oud Metha Road.
