DS is two in June and if he's having a bad food day - as in refusing to eat and being a general pain in the butt to feed - he has an EK or two straight from the pouch! She'll get there. Maybe just try giving her a spoon and a little pot of solids to play with while you feed her from the pouch?

How old is your LO? Both my two tend to end up yelling when it's time to get dressed for bed if they're overtired, so maybe if you're starting the whole routine when she's already past the happy awake time she might be getting upset because she's too far gone?

hmm.......have you thoguht about colic? Is she too big for colic? Come to think of it, she was bringing her legs up and arching her back, poor little lady. She's fast asleep now.

She's dribbling for England so I thought maybe teething, but I did try Calpol about 11ish just in case. No joy :(. I think a pre-emptive dose would be a good idea tonight!

Bug? Hmmm... DD has been a champion sleeper since she was born. In the cot, awake, asleep in minutes, no fuss. Sleeps for hours and has been sleeping through the night since about 4 months. She's 5 months now. Last night she went to bed at 7 as normal, woke up at 8.30 and was awake screaming till 1.30am. Then awake again at 5. What's up with that? She felt a bit warm but nothing dramatic :\:.

We finally found someone and she's moving in tomorrow but given that we've been using the maids' room as a study for the past year, we need furniture! Nowt on the usual sites and I've got a million and one other things to do today (not to mention two grumpy children). Any offers much appreciated.

I fell flat on my face, wearing great big wedge heels, at 8 months pregnant, outside Rock Bottom in Tecom of all places. I had friends visiting who desperately wanted a night out and we were in the area, before anyone gasps!

I've bought a few things using Aramex Shop & Ship and so far it's been great, but for the Bee+ shipping is cheaper direct from the site shinynewpony mentioned so I'm just going to go ahead and order now. I called Mothercare DCC this morning and they told me they're out of stock and have no idea when they'll have more :\:. Personally, I think for car seats it depends on the seat itself and of course your own preference. If you can clearly see there's no damage anywhere (or you know the seller personally and trust them), then I'd be OK with secondhand, but for an Isofix seat with parts you may not necessarily be able to see I'd go for new. We bought both DS's stage 0 and stage 1 new, and now DD's in his stage 0 but we're having her second seat from my sister as I know it's never been in an accident. The site snp mentioned is tax-free for UAE residents so it might be quite reasonable for a car seat. Or, if you want me to see how much shipping is for both a car seat and my Bee+, we could share :).

OK, that's made my mind up! Thanks, TD. I called Mothercare DCC this morning and they told me they're out of stock and they have no idea when they'll be back in :(. The usual consistency! Even with duty it'll only work out about 2,700dhs to get one from the site mentioned below.

OK, forget Mothercare. I spoke to them today and they're out of stock and have no idea when they're getting more. I've been on the website mentioned on the P, B & T board and to ship one to Dubai works out about 2,500dhs so I'm going to go with that. I think they ship to Doha too :).

I just looked on the site snp suggested and it works out to be 2,000dhs with shipping costs of 470dhs (or cheaper just for postal system and not UPS), so 400dhs cheaper than here! Take a look and I'll let you know if I manage to place an order :).

How long till baby arrives? I found myself stroller-less when DD arrived as I'd sold DS's iCandy, didn't have the adaptors for his P&T Smart and Dad wasn't due to arrive with the Vibe for another three weeks! Bless her, she didn't get taken out for ages! I think I've found one on eBay and am just finalising shipping options, but I might just pop along to Mothercare and see what colours they have... :D.

If you look on the Pregnancy, Babies and Toddlers board on the Dubai forum a poster was told Mothercare have them in stock and available for delivery within three to four days, but of course what you're told and what actually happens are usually two very different things here! I'm looking at getting one on eBay and using Shop&Ship but there's also another suggestion from someone who suggests a European website that can deliver one for about 99 Euros :).

If you can wait for it to be shipped in have a look at http://www.babycare.nl/prams-strollers-bugaboo-bee-c-34_106.html My friend ordered from there and found it to be a lot cheaper and quicker than waiting for one in DXB. Thanks so much for this. Do you happen to know how much the shipping was?

thanks so much for the info .i also heard that the bugaboo bee is the best. do u know whats the difference between the bugaboo bee and bugaboo bee plus as it seems there is no real difference if u look at features. If you look at the Bugaboo site and read the Bee+ specifications, it lists a few changes between the original Bee and the Bee+. From memory, it's mostly to do with size and adaptability.

I've had a few strollers over the past few years :D. I had a BebeConfort/Maxi Cosi Loola travel system to start with, then an iCandy Apple, then a Phil & Ted's Smart... and an umbrella-fold one or two along the way. While the travel system was great to start with when they were tiny, I soon got fed up with having to faff around taking it apart to fold it up and put it in the car. Out of all of them I liked the iCandy Apple the best but nice as it was, having to remove the seat unit was a real pain in the butt once the novelty value wore off. Having a stroller you can attach a car seat to is super-handy when they're small, as often they'll be asleep in the car and it's great to be able to transfer them straight to the stroller while they stay asleep in the seat. I'm trying to get hold of a Bugaboo Bee at the moment and if it's everything I'm expecting it to be, I'll probably wish I got one to start with.

dubaicat, that's so kind of you - i've only just checked this site again (like i said, me looking on this site....!!) one is 2 and one is 4 but the 4 year old is very petite - they weigh about the same size i think!! would that work for you - and if so, where are you located? thank you so much for your generous offer. No probs at all. They just sit and gather dust otherwise! I'm in Al Waha but often out and about if that's halfway to Al Ain for you :).

DD needed me to carry her in a sling for the first few months of her life. She's five months now, goes to bed awake (for naps and at night) and sleeps through the night with a dream feed so no, I don't think it's possible to spoil a newborn! Of course, they're all different, but when they're so tiny they just need you :).

What colour is it? :) The breezy for the bee+ only comes in silver UV material as far as i know. As I discovered last night! Thanks, I'll see how I get on tomorrow and post on here if we need it. DH might have a small hernia if I go nuts on accessories, although he did complain our Vibe was too hot and stuffy for DD to snooze in the other day...

I'm in the same boat with the double. Bought a Vibe, got Dad to cart it over here, first off DD hated it when she was tiny and now she's finally happy to go in it DS lasts about five minutes. Doesn't it just drive you up the wall, though? "Yes, I have xxx advertised at 500dhs. No, I won't accept 100dhs for it." I'm dreading selling the Vibe in a few months.

I'm trying to find cheaper shipping options, as DH looked into bringing a bike over here and I think regular courier was cheaper than S&S. I found a nine-month old Bee Plus with the seat liner on eBay for GBP300 - around 1600dhs - so even with S&S charges it's still a good deal.

Anyone else want to share...? OK, Extreme Fun at Motor City (although it was rammed this morning). It's got enough going on in the toddler area that DS is occupied while I sit and feed DD, and I don't have to worry about him disappearing or getting out. Having said that, the girl that mans the gate can be pretty unreliable and has left it open a few times recently.

I saw a different surgeon yesterday and was very impressed with him, so now we're just waiting for insurance approval then we can get a date pencilled in. I'm so over it all now, i just want it done so I can get back to exercising. Really annoyingly, my insurance is so far refusing to pay for the abdominoplasty part of the operation because it's technically a cosmetic procedure even though my neurosurgeon says I'll end up having vertebrae fusion in a couple of years if I don't have the abdominoplasty. It sucks.
