I know its beggars belief how anyone could do that to a child full stop! If anything being a parent makes you protective of them, not the opposite surely!!! I have a beautiful baby boy (he is 10 but still my baby boy Lol, which drives him insane always will be my baby 

I think there is probably a lot more to it than anyone could guess to, unless someone opens up and tells the truth about what happened, even if the mother is covering up an accident, she has only made matters worse for herself by making up stories, i am not saying either way what happened as no one other than those who were there will ever know So sad, poor little thing

Can't understand how people can kill children, my nephew died in my arms when he was six months old and it took me about 6 months before i could close my eyes without seeing him die..... really don't know how people can either do this or live with themselves afterwards. I see my daughter die in my arms everyday and its been 14 years, still wakes me at night sometimes :( If she did do it, i have no idea what type of a person could kill their own child its beyond belief.

No, i just said i lost my license, i had it in January, but cant find it, it will get reissued and sent to my parents, Yeah i too use my UAE one when i go back to the UK and its always ok, But yes if you look at the site it states if you surrender your license and then return to the UK (think there is an time limitfor residence, then you have to retake test again :(, panic stations, although i am a safe driver, not sure i would remember to drive how i was taught back in the day to pass a test LOL Just checked and you may actually be correct and i may be wrong LOL, looks like you can just apply for a new one, i read somewhere you have to redo test if you have been out of the country for x amount of years??? SORRY :) x Moving to another country If you move to another country, you should check with the driving licence authorities there for information about driving and exchange of licences. You don't need to notify DVLA of a change of address when moving to live abroad. Returning to GB If you return to GB from a non-EC/EEA country and are not in possession of a GB licence, you may: •drive for up to 12 months on your foreign licence •apply for a duplicate of your GB licence on payment of a fee

Egg, you really need to research well prior to purchasing a parrot. You must make sure it comes with a valid CITES certificate and is fully tested via blood works for disease. It would be worth going to Nad Al Sheba vets and talking with some experts there for advice and where to source. A good seller will allow you to take the parrot for a full medical check at Nad prior to purchase. The pet shop at Al quoz often has imports that are fully pappered and tested but very expensive. Parrots can be purchased from 2000 dhs to 7000 dhs, the cheaper ones will often drop dead within a week of purchase and not be legal or tested. You also need to assess temperament and know how to distinguish a 5 month old bird from an older one. Knowing a birds history is also very important, especialy diet previous and present. If you are looking long term to keep and travel around the world as a family member than i would be looking at getting a younger bird 5 month + and making sure it is fully pappered, ringed, CITES and tested for diseases/calcium/etc. Really do your research well and study hard. This link has health advice etc. http://www.theparrotsocietyuk.org/ Thanks for the advice, we have already read up on parrots and have decided that an African Grey would be the better option for us, we have been out to take a look at them at different locations and we have found one that is 4 months old that we really like, i have a friend in my own country who is a breeder and has given some good advice on what to look out for and some trainig advice too to ensure that he / she is not a single person bird and interacts withthe whole family. We are definitely getting one, i just wanted everyones opinion on where to buy one from not am i sure i want one? I know about CITES and also PBFD and willobviously make sure that we get him checked out, i wo9uldnt blindy buy an animal just because. Thanks

we had one when i was a child - lovely thing but g0d did it squawk !!! Had to get rid of him in the end because my mum had got a job and we were told he didn't like being on his own all day :( Aw how sad, he / she wont be alone as there is always someone in the house pretty much all day, we are quite secluded so dont think he / she will get any arguments from neighbours if he is a bit noisy.

Egg, you have all the right to wish for a parrot as a pet, please just make sure to take one that has been bred in captivity, not a wild bird captured and smuggled in worse conditions than the one you have seen at the PetZone. Have you seen the movie RIO, for a very light characterization of it? Thanks, thats why i asked does anyone know any reputable place / breeder here. Yes have seen Rio. Egg

Dont do it, it will make them weaker, for what they would cost you around 300 AED Go for a weekly manicure, this will help strengthen and grow your nails, trust me i have been down the acrylic, Gelish route and wish i didnt bother, after a month of going for a manicure once a week i have nice length strong nails and they look good. I go to N Style at MOE for mine.

It does not usually make sense but it does sometimes 1. you get charged for withdrawing money from ATM's abroad 2. Exchange rates here are sometimes no good for certain exchanges such as AED - Baht, i am not joking i changed aed 1000 to baht and aed 1000 - us dollars, i came back with both i changed them back and for the dollars i got back aed 960 for the baht only 840 aed??? So it does sometimes make sense, Any Cyprus specialists??

Hi Anise, Close, but no, Im a physio. Good guessing tho! :) What about Rashid Therapy Centre, working with children? They have some jobs advertised, sorry not sure what but maybe worth a look? I dont have any formal qualifications except high school and i have a managers job for a large company, so you dont need a degree its just finding the opportunities that are hard to come by :) I worked my way up form the bottom :) edited by egg on 30/05/2011

Really does depend but if you are wanting someone to give up lots to come here for that i would say unless it was a single person there is no way its about 135,000 per year take off about 40,000 for a decent 1 bed apartment leaves them just short of 8,000 per month for a car, bills, food, entertainment, i wouldn't do that when i first moved here DH was already here so he gets housing and all the rest i took a job for 8,000 simply because i could 2 years later i get 14,000 per month which i am more than happy with, FYI i am 32 and with no degree or formal qualifications as such. edited by egg on 23/05/2011
