I would have a salary expectation in mind and then add some on top of that to allow a reduction for negotiations. Say you wanted 200,000 as a salary add a bit on to that and tell them 250,000 i dont really know how to be scientific and working out things like that but this is how i do it in my own simple mind :-) Egg

Oh dear i dont have any solid advice xcept to say sorry you are in this situation. If you cannot pay this back have you looked at Bankruptcy? Not ideal but i really dont know what else to advise. There are companies who will do it all for you even if you are not living in UK you pay them a fee and they sort it all out for you. May be worth looking into.

Never heard of goldfish surviving without food for a year. As a child we always had goldfish and some of them lasted for a few years, although we never overfed them which I think is one of the main reasons for them dying quickly. Once when my mother was cleaning out the fish tank, one of the goldfish escaped down the plug hole and she ran outside with a bowl and lo and behold the fish came out of the drain pipe. Another time we woke up in the morning to find my goldfish lying on it's side and I was upset that it had died, so my mother picked it up and started stroking it gently with her fingers for a few minutes, and it came to life again and lasted for months after that. I really thought my mother was a miracle worker after I witnessed this as a child. Egg: We won a lot of our goldfish from the fair as well :) edited by Alismum on 29/03/2013 Thats a lovely memory (I really thought my mother was a miracle worker after I witnessed this as a child.), the kids won our hercules on hook a duck at the fair and i was thinking oh god no how can i tell the kids they only live for a few days, i was preparing myself to tell them the next day when it died that it had gone to heaven but the little blighter lasted 12 years, he was a tough nut, we attempted to get more fish to join him but he murdered every one of them so we just let him be. He eventually died when we were away on holiday my dad saved his body until we came back so the kids could say farewell, they were gutted, even though they were a teens :-) We won a few of ours on Hook a Duck as well, and throw a ball into a bucket. They would let you choose your goldfish from a row of plastic bags. 12 years is a long time for a fairground goldfish, I think our longest was around 6 years. I know and im not convinced he was a goldfish i think they painted him he lost the gold colour and ended up a silver kind of colour Lol

My goldfish (from the fair in UK) lived for 12 blinkin years, he also survived for 2.5 weeks whilst we moved house without being fed in a sandwich box on the window sill because we forgot about him. Could not believe it, they usually die the next day but not this one. Lol.

Hi Ladies, Looking for some reputable websites any of you lovely ladies may have used when searching for properties in other countries such as Thailand, Cyprus (big difference i know) etc. Not necessarily looking to use them to buy just to get a good idea of prices and areas etc, some of the sites i have looked at seem a little too good to be true kind of sites. I have done google but just have no idea which would be classed as reputable and which to stay away from. TIA Egg

I understand your friend has several medical issues but you state an ongoing condition, you may get a better result if you state what ongoing issue and we may be able to help you in the right direction. Most clinics have good general all round doctors we use Arabian Ranches and Dubai Mall clinic whom she could go to then be referred to a specific doctor for a specific condition? We have had no issues with either clinic and they have been superb treating our family.

I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned either Lie to Me or Person of Interest. I'm not a lover of American TV but these two are very good. I started watching person of interest and then stopped might give it a go again... I love American TV not sure why i stopped watching this.

r u KIDDING me?? i live in an independant villa - and if any of my neighbours do that (any time after 10pm) - even on the weekend - i am straight on the phone to dubai police. it is inconsiderate, unncesssary and down right selfish. the police are very quick in responding. i would not hesitate to call. edited by rhubarb on 21/03/2013 So glad you are not my neighbour! We had a party to 2am on a Friday night. Informed the neighbours in advance, invited a few of them and nobody complained. So long as people don't abuse, noise is a way of life in a compound or appt block. You want peace, go live on a farm To me thats acceptable its fine its weekend and you told people in advance i would have absolutely no problem with that, even weekdays if someone came to my door and said look its the only time we can do this im sorry etc its advance warning and courteous - that i have no issue with. Good on you for telling your neighbours. Egg

I have never seen a rule as such like UK its consider not acceptable after 10pm, you can call the police for noise disturbance. I agree with you though its not acceptable on a weeknight especially when living in a residential area and not considering your neighbours is not ok. I would see what your management company say ask them if there are any rules or if they can put up some notices and what number can you call if it happens again. Egg x

Had a smiliar instance a while ago with neighbours, there should be a 24 hour security phone number, i gave the neighbours options to turn down the music (11pm on a school night, i explained i have no issue at weekend) they ignored my request. I advised them one more time i would call the police if they didnt turn it down. I called security and they came round and spoke to them. Turns out parents were away, they were duly informed on their return :-) COntact office management ask them what you are supposed to do they may have a 24 hour security number or advise to call police?

Hi ladies, I received a few recommendations but just don’t know which to choose. The reason is for an assessment report for my DS which the school requires a new one, previous one was from UK 5 years ago. DS was previously diagnosed with Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. I heard that its almost 6,000 AED for the assessment (its free in the UK ;-( ) Would like to hear of any success stories you have had with any of the following: [u'>Dr Ruba Tabari Dubai Community Health Centre Child Early Intervention Medical Center Kids First Medical Centre Lexicon Reading Centre – Dr Rudolph Stockling[/u'>

I forgot to add. It wasnt the case before but it has started now. each school have a different policy but they charge a very high percentage or even the fuill tution fees for the ' missed terms' Its KHDA approved ive been told. Thats really awful so people are paying for something they have not had?? Welcome to Dubai i suppose!

Yes, that is right, they are starting half way through the semester - schools need payment for each semester or sometimes, annually. The entire semester must be paid for. SO therefore as semester 2 has just started thats what you should pay for surely you cant be expected to pay for semester 1 when its been and gone??

I wouldnt have thought that is correct, why pay for something you have not had? Did you speak to the school, surely as semester 2 has just started semester 2 is what you pay for? They ask for it upfront by semester as far as i know there is no monthly payments for school fees but i may be wrong?

RB is a tad on the chaotic side particualrly on the weekend. Last time i went i couldnt move, couldnt get to the bar, no space to have a dance. I prefer Jam Base in Madinat, theres seating and a good defined dancefloor, food is good and the band (last time i went) played everything fro 70's up to 2012 music. Really like it in there. Crown and Lion is good too and food is fab. Bidi Bondi i dont like, think its overdone and its ok for a beer if you live on the palm, but i wouldnt go out of my way to go there, food was rubbish last time we went. Pub scene you could try the Underground at Habtoor Grand, but stay away on football match days as its really busy.
