Hello Ladies, I would like to understand the possibility of availing a mortgage. I have no idea on the current bank regulations. This is the situation wrt the property It is a freehold property in Dubai It is under construction (Expected delivery Oct 2015) I am willing to fund 50% of the property value and looking for 50% as mortgage. I can confirm that i meet the other criteria for availing a mortgage I would like to know if mortgage is provided for under-construction projects Please advise.

Its available in Al Adil Trading (the one I go to is Barsha). I have also seen it in the stores in Karama (indian ones). What purpose do you need this for ? There is a medicinal grade also available in Lulu Barsha (but its on an off) Hope this helps.

Thank you ladies mrsb. My current car is a Suzuki Grand Vitara :) I have had it since 2008 and really need a change now. LC would be too big is what I thought and i am not sure if i can handle it. Maybe I should look at it as well. BubblingCreek: Yea i loved the interiors and the fact that it was so easy to drive :) kitten67. Audi Q5 was also a choice - but its expensive :( If i had the $ i would get a Q5 ! .. looking for more thoughts from the others...

I think there is a cancellation charge http://www.du.ae/en/athome/Tariff-guide My suggestion is that you visit a du Store and get this sorted - that way you can take the decoder and give it back as well. Otherwise on the phone they might not take your request as they wont cancel until you give back the decoder

I've tried shopping and it asks for a US Credit card for shipping to my SnS address - how do you ladies handle this ? And yes Shivi is right - the USD prices are much cheaper than the AED ones. I use my UAE one and this was the one that was registered with SnS Phone their customer services they are really helpful and good :-) Sorry sarahlou - do you mean you use the UAE credit card registered with SnS and give the billing address as the SnS address ??

Dear OP, I complety understand where you come from and what i am describing here is out of my own personal experience. I did have my lil one in one of the nurseries which charge high fees and who also have a good reputation here on EW . During the nursery days I noticed that DS was not happy there as he was too small and did crave/ seek constant attention which wasnt there in the nursery (which is a fair thing as the staff there manage 10 babies) . When he saw me at the end of the he would be very very clingy. Adding to this he got sick so very often that i was taking days off from work week after week a very clear indication that his immune system was not yet ready. Finally the ped advised us to keep him away from nursery for sometime. I am thankful to have helpful relatives and inlaws who took turns over to come and look after him when i was at work and this proved a very convenient setup for me as I had the peace of mind that he was home and amongst family. Now he is 18 mo and goes to nursery for 3 days a week for a short while and we are in the process of hiring a nanny to take care of him after school. Had i known. i would have started my nanny search while i was in my first trimester and wouldnt have put my darling DS through so many visits to the hospital. Please keep in mind nursery might seem a good option to start with as you start worrying about leaving a stranger taking care of your baby, but the innumerable times i had to take time off to take care of the little one was not very well received at work. If you dont trust the nanny you are hiring please think of the option of getting someone over to supervise so that you have the peace of mind and the baby gets the deserved attention and care. Anyday, I would not recommend leaving an infant at the nursery (not that those little ones dont thrive - my sister left hers in the nursery since 2 months) but you will need to weigh pros and cons. Good luck with everything

We are in the process and yes they do need to do a medical in SL and only with that can you apply for their entry permit here. After she does the medical in SL she needs to get it attested from the UAE embassy there. Where in SL ? I can give you the address where mine did hers in Colombo.

I am not on role any more but can give you directions - voting is in the Queensland Government Office which is next to the Australian Embassy on the 8th floor of the Muhairy Centre in Khalidiya - their number is 02635 0013. If you get onto Airport Road, follow it until you get to 7th street, then do a left onto 7th street, the Muhairy Centre will be on your left hand side, you will need dirham coins as it is all paid parking around there. hope that helps a bit! Thanks a lot DesertBoot

Maybe you can ask a friend who has a Aramex Shop n ship account to help? You can post them locally to the UK PO Box and will be forwarded here by Aramex. I have used SnS all the time and they are much cheaper than DHL imho. Better still - get one for yourself ! edited by ellaar on 14/12/2011

Hello there, I can relate to what you and your DS are going through. My DS (now a year old) had reflux as well and though we could relate all symptoms to GERD the doc said we wont start any medication until 6 weeks as for some infants GERD goes away at 6 weeks. DS didnt outgrow GERD and we went to Dr. Ahmed (am a huge fan of him) and DS was on Motilium. The meds just help to do away with the irritation in the oesophagus and are not a solution for GER. What helped me was that i was breastfeeding - I stopped taking any milk/ yoghurt etc / no spicy food and that seemed to help his reflux. Also I used to feed him more often - that way he took lesser quantities at shorter intervals. I used to keep him upright atleast for 30 minutes after every feed - seems like a long time but you will definitely notice DS is happier after this and sleeps better. As the earlier poster said leave him on a wedge (I got mine from premamaman in Dubai Mall). I also used a tucker sling (www.tuckersling.com) for a while and that helped him as well. If you can please stay away from forumula - its because BM is easy on the stomach and gets digested faster whereas forumla takes a while longer. Dont worry - DS outgrew it a 5 months and am sure your little one will. Good luck !

THank you very much ladies. We managed to find the russell hobbs one in C4 and was 89Dhs. When I suggested we get a travel kettle DH was like 'oh Duh - I don't want to go to all the stores here to check as it isint C4' and I said my gals in EW will help. He brushed it off thinking no one would ever respond. Now he got to see the response and was like 'your mates in EW do really know a lot of stuff' :)
