I know I am exposing myself as a total moron here but am willing to do so as a warning to others! If you buy a mattress from Karama mattress shops be very careful. They will tell you it is 16, 20, 24 cm etc of memory foam when in fact it is 5 cm of memory foam and the rest is very cheap foam. I did specifically ask the question and was assured it was all memory foam. Open up the zip on the side of the mattress and check for yourself and save yourself the hassle! I didn't do my research into the real costs of memory foam and thought I was getting a reasonable deal. What I ended up with was a very very bad deal for an un-useable mattress. I am going to take it further but I know from recent threads that there are a few people also looking at mattresses at the moment and people had recommended Karama as a good place to go so I thought I would post for information.

Ok so we bought a memory foam mattress that in the shop was just bliss. What we got is like a concrete slab. So, before I go into the shop with all guns blazing, my question is whether this is normal and does it become softer over time? To me, it feels like our mattress has a layer of maybe 5cm of memory foam on a really hard base. The one I tried in the shop felt like the whole thing was made from memory foam because you sort of sank into it. Aarrgghh so desperate for a decent night's sleep. :(

Needed to vent ! Just had the most stupidest conversation with KFC KFC- Hello can i take your order ME - Can I order chicken bla bla KFC - No problem , Whats your mobile number? ME - My mobile is not working can I give office number? KFC - No only mobile nummber allowed ME - So you cant take my order without a mobile number? KFC - No not allowed ME - I will make one up then? KFC - Ok ME - 050 1112222 KFC- Driver will call you on that number if any problem for location ME - But I just made it up to get my food ! Can I give you my office number so he can call that KFC - Only mobile number for the driver ME - Your &#&#*#&*^kidding me BEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP edited by lucky4uitsme on 25/10/2011 I have finally twigged why this is - the driver calls your number and lets it ring once/twice then hangs up. You have missed call and call them back - hey presto, its your credit being used and not theirs. won't necessarily work on a landline unless you have caller id.

It can be a lottery whether Spinneys have them or not. You may have to travel to a few. Personally I find the puff pastry too oily for individual quiches and prefer to use shortcrust. If you can't find the pre-rolled sheets, it is pretty easy to use the bricks! :)

News.com are reporting that the little girl has passed away. I watched the video - wish I hadn't - the truly strange thing is that people didn't even look at her. Its not like they looked at her and decided not to help, it was as if she was invisible or as if they had no curiosity/ interest in what happen around them.

Simpleasabc I would be interested in any updates you have about this - I have been getting calls from a Saudi number asking for s3x and wondered whether I should report to Police or not. I also told him that next time he called I would go to the Police and that seems to have worked but it is very freaky. I blocked his number through my phone rather than Etisalat so instead of ringing it goes straight to voicemail when his number calls. This may be an option for your daughter too.

Yea from a *** tape and being PH BFF blah! Not quite... Robert kardashian (snr) was a brilliant criminal defence lawyer. He successfully defended OJ Simpson and had him acquitted of a double murder charge. Kris Kardashian and Robert divorced not long after this as she was very close friends with Nicole Simpson- OJs former wife. She then started to manage her eldest daughters modelling career, helped the other two develop their fashion design house and chain of stores "Dash" and built the Kardashian empire incorporating reality shows, modelling careers and branding of the Kadashian and Dash names. Kim, Khloe, Robert Jr, Kylie and Kendall are all models in their own right, with Kourtney holding the stakes in the Dash retail chain. I have to agree - even though they can be incredibly annoying (Khloe's baby voice is like nails on a blackboard to me) you have to respect their business sense and their success. I think they are absolutely stunning too. I think their father was OJ's lawyer though, not the defence attorney. OJ made his famous run from their home.

To answer the original question, no. It states part-time which could mean anything from 1 hour. Definitely not worth the hassle I think (or the risk if they're not planning on providing a labour card).

I feel a bit sorry for Desert Rose - her letter reads to me like she's trying to convince herself more than anyone. Who knows, perhaps her kids are growing up and she is staring down the barrel of years trying to build an identity for herself outside of her role as wife and mother? Filling the time until she can become "grandmother" and drive her daughters/ daughters in law crazy with advice and criticism. Most sensible mums know that there is no black and white answer to the work/ stay at home debate, just what works best for you and your family.

If its not properly licensed though, there is a good chance the insurance wouldn't pay out in the event of an accident. To me, thats a pretty good reason to want to know that it isn't licensed!

I have tried and it effected my digestive system alot if that is the correct way to describe it. To be clearer it made me go to the toilet often and after a while of using it I could not going to the toilet without it. Are you talking about the tea? If so, thats good to know, thanks. I haven't experienced the same symptoms but will be wary.

Embo, how much did you pay? I checked at Le Marche today and could only see rice cookers and then one box that looked like some kind of cooker, but a brand I didn't recognise. It was 199.

As an alternative to pills, you could try a tea. I have been drinking Dr Stuart's Slim Plus and it has really reduced my appetite but is supposed to be all natural. I've lost about 6kg since drinking it. I second the call for using in conjunction with healthy eating and exercise though! My problem was that whenever I exercised I would get really hungry which defeated the purpose of exercise! So the appetite suppressant works really well for me.

So weird that this thread came on now! I bought one on the weekend from Spinneys - Kenwood brand. I had been looking for ages at all the hypermarkets (including Carrefour) and electronic shops but could only find rice cookers. Then went down the kitchenware aisle at Spinneys on the off-chance ... and hey presto found one! Just put my first meal on this morning. Haven't burnt down the house yet so so far so good! edited by Embo on 20/09/2011

My DD had them as well just on the inside of her forearm. They didn't seem to bother her at all. The doctor said that the fluid inside the raised bumps is highly contagious and to keep her home from nursery if I noticed that any popped but other than that, just leave them and her be. They disappeared after about 1 year.

I wouldn't think that you would need a tutor. My DD has terrible handwriting and to help her improve, we rule a line 2mm above the printed line and get her to form her letters between the two lines. This was the way I was taught to write many moons ago! It has certainly improved her writing. Unfortunately it does take practice over time to improve.

It kind of depends a bit on the rest of your marriage and how you normally deal with these sorts of things. For example, when we first got married, DH and I set a limit on how much we could spend without consulting each other. At the time it was $250 (it was 10 years ago now!!). Do your normally discuss purchases before you make them? Or is it normal to make decisions that impact on each other without discussing it? My BIL will regularly buy cars without talking to his wife first - thats normal for them but would send me bonkers! If making a big investment without consultation is normal for your relationship then I wouldn't be too worried (but still annoyed) but if it is really abnormal, then maybe you should be a little concerned.

A good hairdresser should be able to guide you with the right colour/ shade. I started lightening my quite dark hair in Australia and then started going to the Formule Hairdressing Academy at knowledge village where they continued to lighten gradually with highlights. The supervisor there was pretty disgusted with the shade the hairdresser in Oz had done and went for more of a beige tone instead of gold and it made an amazing difference to my skin tone. The best thing was that an entire head of foils was only 150 dhs and the haircut free!!

To do all the things the op wants to do then $150k would be the absolute bare minimum. Even then I think you might need to compromise on some things. I think with the carbon tax coming in it is going to be more and more expensive to live in Australia sadly.

Its really tough - there is not much advertised. I have been looking for a legal job for 18 months here, on and off, with no luck - not even an acknowledgement! I think in the legal profession, a lot of the jobs are not advertised and you have to know someone. By the way, I don't have a lot of direct legal experience either but over 14 years experience in a quasi legal field.

Hi Embo, We tried to find Croqui today. We were told it is on 71st street, but can't find it! Would you be able to give me directions please? Thanks! Its on 47th street - there are two "malls" - one is incomplete and it called Mirdif Mall the other is called Al Barajeel Mall and has a Medcare out the front. Its this second one. You have to go through the entrance next to the pharmacy and walk towards the back and it is on your left. They have a facebook page too - its best to call them first to make sure they are accepting new jobs before you make the trip there!

It really depends on the course. If its something that is also offered as a degree by a university then its probably not highly valued. If it is something trade related then yes, it will be helpful in getting you a job in that trade. It also depends on the TAFE - some have excellent reputations in particular areas, others not so much. What course/s are you considering?
