Big congratulations...... I am sure that for most people they will love their child regardless. But I can't really explain the feeling I had having a little girl. My chest hurt so much with the love for her, and her very tiny hands captured our hearts for an eternity. She was really easy and undemanding as a baby, and at that time all my friends had boys, and they were all a handful. We did and still do feel very blessed. Originally we were hoping for a boy, as my dh is the last male in his family, so it would have been another to continue the family name, but we wouldn't swap her for the world! Hope you have an easy blissful pregnancy.... X

I get about 4.5 to 5 light sleep and then very on and off for another 4 or so. Always wake up feeling exhausted, never refreshed :-( Thank god I am not alone. No you are not alone, it is horrible... Almost every night I wake around 02:30am, and then I just doze on and off. It is my excuse for being such a miserable git! At home I would get so tired that I woukd take a little Night Nurse just to try and get one night of good sleep. Not something I would recommend doing but every so often I just needed a decent nights sleep. :(

He is 6ft 3 but for some reason his head was hitting the top in the passenger seat lol! Maybe some adjustments needed done to the seat if your husband is taller! To be honest, he had his heart set on an Armada, I would have been happy with either but he is so excited as it's the car he really wanted. Enjoy it... :)

You couldn't go wrong with either, and am sure you will be fine driving it. Out of interest just how tall is your dh..... I thought mine was tall as 6ft 7"!

I really wanted the Armada, but when I got in it, it was too big for me. So we went for a top of the range Pathfinder and had parking sensors fitted as an extra, wasn't that expensive. We are a family of 3, so unless we have visitors very rarely need the 3rd row. And to be fair, it is only suitable for kids or a small adult if a short trip. A/C is fab all over the vehicle, has been really reliable, never had a problem. We brought new as were cautious of second hand 4x4's and didn't want any hassle. Saying that at the time it was impossible to find a newish second hand one. I understand resale values are very good. I will look again at the Armada in another year or so when replacing the pathfinder, but I would be happy with either, just a bit more in my comfort zone with the PF due to the size.

Poochie is is a bit of a soft boy, if we have to leave him in his own we'll put the cone of shame back on, he seems to have had a lovely sleep this morning - was very unsettled last night bless him x Wish I could put one on my hound, he has been in the flower pot for a week now, and we're all suffering for it :-(

I made a Victoria Sponge, Jam Tarts, cakes with swirly red,white and blue icing on, scones with Devon cream and jam, coronation chicken, cheese and egg mayonnaise sandwiches.... Invited over some lovely friends who added to the tea. All washed down with jugs of Pimms! Happy Days and God Bless dear old Liz!!

I had a spinal block due to an emergency c section. Immediately dd was delivered I had a reaction to the block. My whole body couldn't stop shaking, they put heat blankets over me and from what I can remember it stopped after a few hours. It was quite frightening, no pins and needles I couldn't feel a thing anywhere. Don't they normally give some kind of injection to prevent clotting, maybe given her circumstance they didn't because of the blood loss and maybe this is why she is havng an MRI to make sure that a clot hasn't developed. Whatever, has caused it the whole experience must have been very traumatic for them, I am sure the medical team will make sure she is safe, and hopefully they will be able to enjoy their new bundle very soon. I think the implied expectation from schools is just not realistic, and makes alot of parents feel that they have to keep up. Recently we were sent home 70 page revision packs for Maths and English for year 2. Whilst we are happy to do 10 mins a day what we will not buy into is this whole teach the test. If you do this it is unrealistic result, at primary age it is just an assessment to guage potential learning ability, and these PIPS tests are more for me about tracking teaching performance. Yet I have heard of many parents paying for private tutoring everyday leading upto these assessments. Largely this will lead to a false result and benefits nobody other than the school, they are more than happy for our kids to be drilled and stressed and tired so long as at the end they can advertise how well the school did in these tests. Sorry, just don't buy into the whole charade at this age.

I don't care about % at this stage, it really isn't worth all the stress on the kids for me. They have years to study for exams that count. Mist of these assessments now don't benefit the child, they are just for the school to advertise how great they did! I use the word They lightly as most of the work seems to be done by the parents...

Hi I don't knkw where it states it online, but when we needed RERA they told us that if the LL wanted to make any changes to contract we had to be guven 90 days notice.

Sure glad to be reading all the reassurance about automatic contract renewal - I'm in a similar boat at the mo and landlord wants to up rent and claims he wants to move in as a second alternative - it's less than 90 days before our lease expiry. If you are coming on Emirates Road from Ranches I just come off at Falcon City and through as we live in the Ponderosa. But if I am coming from Mirdif, I loop at the DSO/Al Ain bit to join Al Ain Road heading to Al Ain. You miss the first exit which takes you to Academic City, keep on Al Ain Road for probably a mile, you will see Skycourt Towers (parallel towers) on your right, just before them is The Villa exit. Take the slip, you go across the lights, stay right but don't take any of the turns, the road just natually bends at the end to the right. Staright down that road to a roundabout, turn left and the road takes you to the Centro security gate.

Driving to and from the villa is an absolute pain. If you want to go towards the ranches or Abu dhabi / jabel Ali, you have to drive all the way down to silicon oasis's exit to take the abu dhabi exit and get on the opposite direction of emirates road. Not to mention getting to the villa, going through the global village exit. Never the less the villas and the finishings are lovely. Not used the Glibal Village exit for almost a year, the Al Ain exit is open so much easier access if heading from Mirdif on Emirates Road.

We are not at DSO, but do quite a few afterschool activities there. As a result get to speak to many of the parents with children at the school. Haven't met one yet who isn't happy with it. Walking through the school, the displayed work is lovely and lots of noticeboards with what's happening, fixtures, results etc. If it wasn't for the class sizes I would definitely consider it.

We looked at DSO, but ended up at The Villa. About to sign our third year here. Silicon has the advantage of communal pool and tennis, and of course spinneys. The Mazaya properties at The Villa all have pools, but majority are not problem free. Dubai Properties villas do not have pools. There are no communal facilities here, or shops. However, the drive is only 5 mins to the supermarket at Skycourts for the odd thing, and DSO is only 10 mins for Spinneys. We prefer the space at The Villa, feels more open and you are not so on top of each other. I prefer the finishing of DSO villas, but £ for £ The Villa won for us....

Have done the brunch at Al Muna MAS, and it wasn't a great experience. The food was good, but they crammed people in, so it was very uncomfortable, couldn't get out of chairs without the people behind moving. Very stuffy in there, no airflow.. Maybe just a one off but have not been back to find out. Anise at Intercon at Festival City looks a good one...

I am not sure Skycourts is really for family living. The Villa is great for families, spacious villas, green areas and space for the kids to run around. Have a friend at Skycourts, in a 2 bed apartment with huge terrace. In my opinion ok for a couple but not a family.

When we had some friends over we saved approx 3000 aed, they used vouchers for Safari, Atlantis, Waterpark, varying places for dinners. We saved just over 700 at the weekend, on dinner at Seafire, as others say you only need to use the book at one or two restaurants and you have paid for the book.

Poor little thing. Definitely try and keep open lines of calm discussions with them. Try speaking to another vets surgery and see what they suggest. One of my boys had been sick and the vet xrayed and told us he required surgery to remove what looked like a ball. This was on a NY Eve.... So away they went, then they called us after the op to say they hadn't found anything! Nearly £500 it cost us for squat..... Apparently just one of those things... It looked like something but actually wasn't. Your case is different as it happened whilst in their care. Did you sign paperwork prior to the surgery etc, you normally have to. If you did ask to see if if you don't have a copy to see what the disclaimer says.... It sounds like an unfortunate accident and could have happened anywhere, but I would at least expect them to shoulder some of the cost. Good luck... <em>edited by emlsnre on 16/05/2012</em>

Ours was only 22%, as sandfly says I think alot of parents dont bother because what they write on survey isnt representative of what actually gets reported. Alot of people take the reports with a pinch of salt.

Whilst you are on your wall page, you should see Friends listed on the left hand side menu. Click Friends and it will list them. On the right of each friend will be a box that says Friend, click on this and it will give you options. The last one being Unfriend.

Dont know about brunch, but breakfast prices vary from 20 for pancakes, 24 for waffles, the variety is quite diverse, I have a menu in pdf format that I can email if you leave a contact. But would say for breakfast and coffee I guess the average cost would be between 50 - 70...

I would enjoy your little one while you can, it's time you will never get back. Obviously if you had to work due to circumstance then that is different. I was determined not to stop working once DD arrived, but when it came to it there was no way I felt able to leave her at a nursery with a nanny or my mother. She is 7 now and I am so glad I have been able to shared those years with her. Go and look at some nurseries and see how you feel once you have done that. I bet you will know in your heart then what you can and cant do. Very best of luck :)

Found it, and must have driven past it so many times but never actually noticed it! Had a lovely breakfast of waffles and coffee :) Very convenient stop off for the Repton folks judging by todays intake... Yeah I went there with some mums - pretty nice place - I liked it because it's different. glad you found it - handy for you! Certainly is, weekend breakfast taken care of :)
