Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! Took me back way to many years than I wish to admit but they were great. Was thinking of you Reds up front.... Was the guy from Eastbourne helping out with the singing near you....? Old school, you just can't beat it....:) That Guy was my husband!! He was so excited to sing with Simon, he has been a fan for 30 years! It was a great concert wasn't it! Still smling, I think I have him on vid if you didn't catch it..

Back in the 80's we moved from UK to Oz, they were learning stuff then that I had already Covered 2 years earlier. But we are talking 30 odd years ago so no current knowledge I'm afraid. They were well ahead sports wise though....

If you're coming from AD I would book something near the Burj Khalifa (can recommend the Al Manzil or the Qamardeen which are both withing walking distance of Dubai Mall). It's only another 10 mins added to the journey to the sevens stadium vs the Silicon Oasis Premier Inn. There will be a lot of taxis going to and from - plus they normally run a bus to and from the event back to several locations in town. Check out the organisers website or someone on here will be able to give more detail. In my opinion, the Premier Inn at Silicon Oasis is a bit on its own and if you're here for the weekend that would be a bit of a pain. I live at The Villa which is the other side of the Al Ain Road to Silicon Oasis, we are going to the concert and it will take us about 15 mins to get there from here. No worries, booked cab for 7 too... Now off to get some xtra large shoulder pads out.... See you there! Hi We are heading there too from The Villa. Trying to decide what time to leave, do you know whereabouts the buses are running too and from? Apologies emlsnre just seen your post, we're getting a lift and leaving The Villa about 7ish, not sure about the buses, they normally run from Marina/Downtown but I have no details of them, so sorry for the delay ... just trying to decide what to wear!

Has she been unwell, is there a temperature, any cold etc. Our dd did something like this but went rigid with it, and was a small convulsion due to a fever. It may well just be that she has discovered a new sensation by doing this and is having fun with it. If you are concerned I would just pop her along to see a GP for reassurance, at that age it is tricky sometimes to tell.

Take the next exit for fruit and veg market, the exit merges into 2, both signed Fruit and Veg so stay in the left lane. This loops up and over Emirates Road, when crossing over bridge part just stay right and you will rejoin Emirates Road. Once over bridge and coming down you just need to change lane to get back onto the Emirates Road slip. You see Repton on your right now and take the next exit literally a few hundred yards. Stay right and follow road down, you can either go tl roundabout and turn right or you will see a filter road before roundabout which you can take. These roads will run you down straight alongside Repton. Before you pass the school there is a large sand area, which is the senior school car park. HTH's and good luck to your DD in the tournament.

I got thelasttwo pots of countrywide I think, double cream in DSO spinneys on Friday. When they don't have it i usethe bulla cream, that seems to be a good likeness. HTHs

Hi Ladies, We've just paid deposit on a villa up at the Villa so have finally decided to take the plunge. Thanks for all your advice. Will be moving in end March. Garden needs landscaping so any recommendations there would be appreciated. Thanks Am sure you will love it, once settled in..... :)

Yes, it's all very age appropriate. The 2 ladies that run it are both mums of 5/6 year olds so are very aware of parents' concerns. You discuss with them exactly what u want, right down to the music. My daughter chose 2 outfits, jeans and party dress so half the pics are of them all casual and fun in their denims and the rest are all hair and make up and party frocks. It was lovely really. They provide, hair, make up, accessories, welcome fizzy ' pamchagne' and of course their expertise. Lights, camera, action as they say ;) Great, thankyou..

From what I can see, the kids bring two of their favourite outfits to wear, the ladies then accessorise with little tiaras etc and do their hair. Not really in for the beauty pageant thing so no make up, just a bit of lp gloss. They learn a routine, do a little show for the parents, and then they have a mini disco. The age group love dressing up and striking a pose, but just wanted feedback to make sure it was all very light hearted and fun.

Thanks again. I like the sound of the supermodel party too however 2,000 AED is over my budget. I think I might contact them and see if they do the Supermodel party for smaller numbers and what the cost may be. It sounds really nice and the photos look great. I like the fact that you can take your own food too. I don't think I read on the website the duration of the party though. Anyway, it would be good to get some feedback. When I contact them tomorrow I will post and let you know if they give me any additional information.... x That would be much appreciated, and totally agree expensive for a small group.

Thanks for your feedback emlsnre. I have only a very small number - five in total. What was the food like that was provided and were you allowed to take your own snacks (ie. cake, chips and dip etc?) Also, did Mirdif only give one lane and one game? Thanks again.... Five is perfect. We had two lanes, girls v boys. There were biscuits and water on one of the tables for the kids to help themselves, nobody said anything. After the game they went upto the party room, where they had a McDonalds and did some party games. But if you only have 5 then this may possibly be OTT. One game for them was enough, probably due to the numbers. Very interested in the Supermodel parties, I have talked DD into having a girls only party but want it to be fun and not all serious, so hoping for some feedback....

DD went to one at Mirdiff CC which was a good quiet location, was after school. The only thing I would say is that the more you have the longer the wait for their turn, and after a while they got restless waiting and started chasing around. But if it wasn't a huge group they are good fun....

Hi Have been a migraine sufferer since the age of 8... have tried all sorts, powders, sprays, beta blockers, needles.... thankfully I am saved by Maxalt Rizatriptan the 10mg ones. They are only on prescription in UK but you can buy over the counter here, but may not suit you and maybe a DR should recommend before taking. Hope you get some relief... I feel your pain :(

I think it will only let you check upto a month in advance. So if you enter your expiry as 31st April it won't help. And then they do update it alot during which time it doesn't function.... So very hit and miss..

We went thru jt last year too, he wanted 25% increase, but RERA told us he had to renew on same terms as it was our first renewal. As Eli1979 says I believe this to have changed now, and they have to use the calculator. Good luck.

I went last Nov. The actual stable tour was good, especially if you are a horse lover. They really are beautiful. The setting for the breakfast is nice too, you can watch them doing the morning training. But have to say the breakfast wasn't the best I've had here, probably the most disappointing. But location and seeing the horses made up for it.

We have been living at the Villa for one year and we love it. We were in an A2 but we are moving out and went for a Cordoba this time. We love the community and everything about it. Just make sure you choose a good landlord as there are nightmare ones out there. And definitely stay away from mine which is up for rent now :) Glad you are sorted out with another place at The Villa. My firned is looking at an A2 hope its not your old one! Out of interest what are Cordoba's renting for now?

Thanks 1972nessie As our DD is in the middle of year 3, I presume she will have to get an in year admission, and was wondering if anyone has moved back in the middle of the academic year and what is the procedure. Like you said with the 4 year old I need to do a late admission by mid March and cross everything!! I told the council that we would be arriving back at the beginning of July and they even said that we could take the places then as school doesn't finish until 25th July, thought it would be a bit cruel to send them to school for 3 weeks!!! I have seen a few start last few weeks of the year. Not much goes on, so it is a great time for them to make new friends and have familiar faces to meet up with over the summer.

I would just find the admissions department email or phone number as 1972nessie says and make contact. Mid year admissions are normal and so long as there are spaces is easy to sort out. Check out the county website to get the details and become their new best friend. Good luck :)

Does anyone know when he has to give you the one year notice if he wants to move in himself? I rented my place in September. LL says he wants to move back in this September. I do understand that he has to give me a year notice. But when does the notice start? If he sends it to me NOW, will it count till Feb 2013? Or can he only send me the one year notice once my one year lease is up? If he can send it now, than I would have only stayed in this apartment for 1 1/2 years and not two! Sorry to jump into this thread!! We were advised that the notice would only take affect at the end of the lease, so you get a full year from the expiration of your current lease. This was last Feb time so may have changed since then, maybe somebody else with more recent experience can confirm.

Hi Tigerlily, we went thru the same thing last year, LL wanted to sell, then he wanted to move in, then we could stay but only if we paid 25% more, and not in 4 but 1 cheque. It was stomach churning, but I took the advice of the mighty EW's and alot from Clairehdp.... And we stood our ground and just kept saying No, in line with UAE law and RERA we have the rightto remain on the same terms. Ittook six weeks of retorts but he eventually gave up and we renewed. Our contract wasnt a formal RERA blue one, but RERA were great and read the contract and told us our rivhts, it wasnt logged with them either. Good luck...
