You can order startrite on line. Check with magrudys in jumeirah they might have some school shoes lurking in their cupboards. When they had a warehouse sale I bought clarkes school shoes for 50 dhs a pair!!!! I bought enough for the next 2 years!!!!! They don't sell school shoes any,re but definitely worth asking them especially if they get rid of them for 50 dhs!!! Hi Claire... Yes checked with Magrudys as had got from them before... But there is nothing.. Will call MOE and Deira, but from what I remember Deira had zilch last time I tried.... Just typical...

For those of you coming to the uk for Christmas wrap up warm - we have our first dusting of snow ths morning in the south of England!!!!!! My kids are sooooooooo excited!!!! So it looks good for our first white Christmas with the kids I'm off out today to buy snow shovels and sledges!!!!! Yippee! Jealous xx

Ladies, A friend of mine, an awarded photographer from the US, is interested in documenting the lives of men in labor camps here in the UAE and capturing their stories. Ordered ours yesterday for collection Christams Eve from park and shop in Tecom 54AED a kilo - bone in ham joint we ordered a 6kg joint as there is 8 of us for boxing day gammon was 74AED a kilo - but its too salty for my taste and I will be following the Kirsty and Phil Perfect Christmas Guide to cooking the thing on Boxing day .. Braised in Cider, cinnamon, star anise, cloves , apple juice for 7 hours then roasted for a while with a honey and mustard glaze it looked amazing on the program .. JUST hunting for waitrose mini mince pie selection(maple, crumble & strudel topped) .. bought 4 boxes and gave them away thinking I could get more ... nah ! waitrose completely sold out so if anyone has spotted them in spinneys, please let me know which one edited by bbcb on 15/12/2011 DSO had them 2 days ago... <em>edited by emlsnre on 15/12/2011</em>

I saw Dr Shukar a month a go about a nasal problem. I am a huge baby when it comes to tubes and needles, so when he said he had to put a camera up my nose I was ready to run! But he persuaded me to sit still and let him do it. Anyway, Despite forgetting to breathe I survived. He gave me some steroid sprays to use for a month, which unfortunately haven't helped, so he wants to see me again to discuss alternative options. He didn't try to go straight in with a surgical fix so I would hope if he is suggesting that it is because he feels there is no alternative. But like you I am anxious about having anything surgical done so interested in seeing others responses to this.

A good quality pate and melba toast. I know your Dh doesnt like smoked salmon, how is he about normal salmon. I make a salmon pate to die for! Poach the salmon fillets in white wine or veg stock if you need no alcoholic version. Allow to cool and flake, blend unsalted butter, double cream and the flaked salmon, reduce the wine stock till only about 2 spoonfuls and add to the mix. pour into individual ramakins or one large serving dish and cool in fridge till set. Heart Attack city I know but a once in a while treat it's divine. Liking this alot :)

Hi Loube, I use them. The first lady I had to ask them not to send to me again. But now have a regular lady who is fantastic. She did say the didn't get National Day off and that about 17 of the girls had gone to Ministry so weren't currently working..... But that may have got lost in translation....

Ok, our contract stated we had to give notice of intent and RERA advised us to ensure we notified LL of such with 60 days. Went along with their advice and all worked out OK in the end and our tenancy was not registered with them either.

No he is wrong. He. Cannot increase it until the second year and then only if he not meeting a percentage of the average rent for that area. Just another one trying his luck! Stick to his guns, tell him if he has an issue to go to RERA, the contract will automaticaaly renew so long as it not a non renewable one so long as your son has given him the required notice to renew. <em>edited by emlsnre on 06/12/2011</em>

No idea if we all have the same company, but just one look at ours was enough! Generally our dd comes out quite nice in pictures, but she looked hunched over and awkward with this really awful inane fake "say cheese" grin..... And no idea what they had going on with her hair! Most bizarre... Have plenty of other luvvly pics so doesn't worry us.

I have a Yamaha Clavinova CLP220 for sale, excellent condition, it is the browny/black colour, just put an advert on so maybe if you want to look - or is the real thing you want? these electric pianos give as close a sound to a real piano as you can get, but we now have the real thing, so this one is available Loube On dubizzle or EW? Not seeing it at the moment.

Festival City, top floor opposite Magrudy's, huge choice. Also a lot of small Yamaha music shops opposite the fish round about. I can never find anything there, I have seen a shop with Yamaha in the window, but it always looks closed. Will taker a better look this week.... We were buying it a a Christmas present, do you know if they discount significantly or is it just minimal Helma?

I had been using buttermilk for years in the UK, but only for a chocolate cake recipe. Had tried it with normal milk and it was OK, but the buttermilk version was much moister, just coincidence maybe.

If I don't have buttermilk I use a cup of milk with half a lemon in. Let it rest for 30 mins then remove lemon. But laban should work just fine too..

Hi there.. Just been diagnosed with Bells Paulsy....the give away was dribbling gin, an unheard of practise !!! Does anyone know how long to recover, and if the constant tiredness is part of it......thank you, and a crooked smile. Hope you feel better soon. A friend suffered this years ago, just woke up one morning and one side of his face had dropped. Very alarming, but with 2/3 weeks he was back to normal.

not quite F & M but for her birthday i had a Tesco shop delivered to my mother !!! she was due to go into hospital so i included things for that plus all her favourite groceries/toiletries etc and a pile of magazines... she was thrilled with it...and don't laugh but actually asked me "is there a tescos in Dubai then" ??? lolol (they don't do internet !!) ETA obviously it's not gift wrapped or in a nice basket for an extra tenner, but you can choose every item and the range is much wider than hamper places... edited by Sue62 on 01/12/2011 Do you know what, that is a great idea. The hampers are lovely, but to be honest alot of the items are to fancy for their tastes and I know they would be cross with the waste. So I think I will look at ordering a shop for them, and not too far from them is an Organic meat farm, and I know I can order them a Dinner for Two Box of meats, that will see them OK for a week. Thanks ladies...

There was an article on Red Magazine online (redonline.co.uk) last week and they had the top 10 UK hampers. Dalesford is always a favourite of mine, but having said that the Waitrose 'The Night Before Christmas' one looked fab. I hope you get some inspiration. FFx I love the Night Before Xmas one.... And it has chocolate from Alresford Hampshire which is where we live when not here... Thanx

There are a large number that graze around The Villa, so very close to you. We had visitors last week and I saw them on our way out so just took the track up to them and our guests were over the moon to be able to get so close and got some great pics....

Ours wasn't registered either, but RERA were really helpful. Claire gave us some great advice, and we just kept communication to email so it was documented, kept it very polite, stated the facts and pointed him in RERA's direction should he wish to gain reassurance. If he wants to scream and shout let him, just stay calm and any discussions you have verbally, just drop the detail into an email and send it to him just to confirm anything either of you may say.

Hi. Try not to worry... We live at The Villa and had the same problem earlier in the year. Our contract has the same wording that you mention. He wanted a 25% increase and one cheque! Then he wanted to move in... After speaking to RERA and hearing what other EW's had done, we held our ground and just kept repeating via email that as per UAE Law we wanted to renew for another year. He eventually conceeded and huffed that we had the law on our side. So all ended OK, but he was persistant for nearly 7 weeks.... Don't let it worry you, be polite, state the facts and then if he doesn't agree let him toddle off to RERA.... They will put him on the right path....

Depends what you are looking for, an A1 should not cost more than 130k, the B tpes I have seen from 165 upwards, these are the Mazayas. If you habe researched you may know that almost all of them have expensive issues with the pools. Horror stories of DEWA bills, ranges vary, worst case I have heard of is 8000 a month. Very time consuming to get repaired and all the while the meter is ticking... So if you go for one make sure you have a clause in your contract stating who will be financially responsible for reimbursing for the DEWA, unless you are happy to take it on the chin.

loving him and being in love are very different, so have a think about it. When my ex and I went seperate ways I had absolutely no doubt it was the right thing and have never looked back. We drifted and couldn't pull it back together, and then I just coukdn't imagine growing old with him and although I loved him, I wasn't in love. If you are having cold feet I think it may be wise to have a really good think about your future, but do it for you and not for anyone or anything else.. Good luck...

I know I have seen a thread on it before, but just wanted to give it another shout out. Went with a friend this afternoon, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The birds were stunning and the couple running clearly love and have a passion for the. Really nice to see the way they responded and interacted with them... Definitely worth a visit, and will definitely become part of my visitor places to see. They are located just out past Mushrif Park....
