we were recommended basel from this site and he did up and down stairs for us and has a wide choice of colours. you need to tell him what you want, big windows wont take one whole blind too heavy in wood. but ours look lovely and we are very pleased. we did bargain as we were having 10 made for us. so dont be afraid to say too expensive. 050 7876671 good luck.

we were recently at the taj exotica and can say thats it not well maintained and is quite run down. everyone of all nationalities and from lots of different countries complained about the accomodation and hotel generally as it was tatty/ poor. its more a poor 3 star than the 5 it advertises. yes the views are lovely for sure ( depending on which room you have of course ) you are up on a slight hill but i wouldnt swim in the sea and you do get hassled loads if you try to walk on the beach ( they just dont take no for an answer ), the food was good especially the egg hoppers with sambals for breakfast, but repetetive after a few days at the buffet restaurant and the stand alone restaurants were very expensive, but i would recommend the outside seafood restaurant for lovely fish and shell fish. its about 3 half hours - 4 hours drive from airport depending on traffic and weather. we went for a week and for us it was far tooooo long, there was nothing to do there especially if it rains, so boring and dismal in the rain. we even considered going back to colombo and staying at the cinnamon grand for the remainder of our hols.( now thats a lovely hotel.) i do appreciate and recognise that sri lanka has had a bad time .of things over the last few years with the war, tsunami and now the dreadful floods. i still wouldnt go back even tho so many people tell us they love it. for me i would choose thailand ( not pattaya ) over sri lanka.

hi there i dont think jordan would be suitable for kids. its great for sightseeing but really for adults in my opinion. the coast isnt that nice the sea can be quite brown. what about the coast in egypt thats family oriented. sri lanka has lots of undercurrents in the sea and and it can be very rough and quite dangerous. on our recent vacation there an adult guest from our hotel drowned in the sea. good luck in your search, i know how it feels to be undecided, we are the same for march hols.! where ever you go have a wonderful time. :)

went once wouldnt go back. hotels might advertise themselves as 5 star but they are substandard. we did a tour which was good - the sights were lovely but still wouldnt make me want to go back. there are many hours of travel between sights it was hard work wouldnt recommend with children. we did the coast and it was horrible. thailand is much nicer all round.

only get a big dog if you have a big enough property and are willing to walk a big dog twice a day minimum half hour twice daily and that you are willing to clean up the poop when u are walking the dog. big dogs eat a lot, hard crunchie dog food is best and is expensive if you buy a decent brand. vet fees are expensive. injections yearly every year. plus chipping dog. plus any incidental costs re accidents and emergencies. worming. then there is municipality registering yearly for tag add on cost yes if you have to go home and take with you. plus shampoo to wash dog, or grooming fees. house training will have to be done by yourselves - the trainers only teach you tricks of the trade. you dont mind a big dog digging/pooping etc in your garden. we bought our small dog as the rescue dogs we looked at were all too big for our house at the time, he was fine and well and vet said perfect no signs of illness or inbreeding. we love him to bits, cant imagine life without him now. good luck if you do get a dog. they give you unconditional love if well looked after. mine always seems to be smiling :) and he makes me smile too.

friends of ours born in uk lived in uk for 20 years, then lived in africa for number of years, kids were born in africa but also did live in uk with parents for over 3 years, twice -now the kids are grown and married, their children can apply for british passports as long as the fathers can prove that they resided in the uk for over 3 years in any one time ( ie school reports/work/ stuff like that.) according to uk passport office the father must have resided for over 3 years in one go, not a week or a month here and there and be able to show proof. this was found out recently by them, as they were in a quandry as to where do they apply for passports for children.
