You'd probably be better off hiring an RTA cab for the day, which is about 600 dhs I think. Al Ain zoo is so easy to get to, it's literally 3 roads from Dubai to the zoo. GO on the DXB- Al Ain highway, take exit signed for the zoo, follow the road straight, straight over all the roundabouts and it's the at the end. Well signed. Easy. edited by FairyDust on 22/03/2015

Normally the penalty for breaking a contract and leave early is two months rent. This is why I hate one, or two cheques for rent. Situations like this the LL's can play silly fools and make life really complicated. If you're offering to give him enough to cover the penalty and notice period, he shouldn't have any complaints. edited by FairyDust on 22/03/2015

I'm the same as Beebers. I'm 40 this year and I never knew if I wanted children or not. Hubby has two with his previous wife, but after going through a few things, it's become evident that it's just too hard to conceive naturally and we'd need help, so I've pretty much made peace with that and now I'm just not fussed at all. I like our lives as they are, we do lots of things together and enjoy ourselves and we're happy that way. I don't think I'll regret the decision not to try either.

No *** needed for FT on DU or Etisalat, it's fine. UAE iphones and ipads won't have FT installed, you need a UK or US one. Surprisingly it is on the macbooks though.

Buddha, I think you're being extremely critical and judgemental of other people! Just because something is right for YOU, doesn't make it right for others. I actively compete and have done all my life, I've mostly always calories counted, as do virtually ALL people I know who are competitively active - so don't make sweeping statements. Just the same way the majority of women I know including myself have struggled with weight issues over the years for one reason or another. You impose your lifestyle and what you do onto others and it doesn't work like that, because, gee, gosh people are individuals. If someone wants to try something and has seen results from others great, if not, also no worries.

To add to what Starsouthern has written, the Clean 9 CLEANSE has been revamped in the last couple of months and several ingredients and parts have changed, so many of these blogs are out of date and moot, as they haven't tried the new one.

Never had an issue with Kerastraight, it's always worked wonders on my hair. It really depends how curly/wavy your hair is to start with and how often you wash it. Washing everyday, you won't get long lasting effects from any of those treatments and your best bet is to do actually permanent straightening/rebonding. If you go for the Brazilian Blowout, make sure the salon uses a non-formaldahyde formula, as sadly many still contain it.

Where is the fibre? You have fibre sachets included. CM, actually the Aloe is taken from the middle of the leaf, which doesn't have a laxative effect at all - but this has been happening in products that aren't official and use the outer part of the leaf (known as aloe latex), which is indeed a laxative which is very commonly used, but can be harmful in high doses. This is no different to people doing the Jason Vale juice detoxes - same process. Yet, I don't see people bashing that! There's no question that of course you're going to lose weight on such a restricted calorie diet, that stands to reason. How does it help people kick start healthy eating? The same way ANY cleanse does, by ridding your body of toxins and the reliance and cravings for certain foods, like sugars, processed carbs, caffeine etc, which is why most people get insane withdrawl headaches and other symptoms in the first few days of anything like this. Once you have rid your body of it, you no longer crave it, so why would you eat it? Simple. Much of it is a psychological reset when it comes to food and many people need that. Don't put people down for trying something that many other swear by and have proven to work for them. It doesn't work for everyone, but still, just because YOU don't get it, don't bash others.

Sadly ladies, your first misconception is that this is a 'diet' - it's NOT! It's a cleanse and should be viewed as such. It's a way to detox the body, get rid of all the garbage and purge your system of all the bad stuff, at the same time giving it an effective reboot. It teaches people to start from scratch and eat properly. I tried to do this, sadly I learn I'm allergic to ingesting Aloe Vera and it made me pretty sick, so I stopped it. I'm actually pretty gutted about that.

the devil is in the detail..... So you automatically assume people are doing dodgy things? How wrong you are. Classic example - itunes! There is NOTHING worth having on the UAE site, which is why most people have account in other countries. But to top up your credit, you have to do it using a card from that country, or use top ups, but you have to be connected to servers in the country where your account is held. Nothing dodge about that. People stream tv shows on things like iplayer from the UK - again, perfectly fine. Because let's face it, tv here is rubbish and expensive, which is why many choose to stream and download shows from home. edited by FairyDust on 12/03/2015

Every adoption place will vet any potential adopter, they won't give a living, breathing, feeling creature to just anyone, if they feel the home is not right for them. You asked people not to judge you? Too late, your odd post pretty much said everything it needed to. Don't get a cat or any pet for that matter, as you want it for all the WRONG reasons.

I responded as I did because a similar situation happened to me in a parking lot - as soon as I took out the phone and held it out to take photos of the license plate and record her she could not leave fast enough I know it seems ridiculous but you should not feel like you cannot notify the police in these situations edited by blondie007 on 08/03/2015 And you also shouldn't feel intimidated either - that's what these people bank on. When push comes to shove they're ridiculous.

Against a local I would stand a chance me thinks. What happens if she does call the police and what should I do? People need to stop thinking like this. I bet she would have run a mile if YOU had called the police on her, to report her for dangerous driving. Also whipping out your phone to take a video usually has them disappearing quick smart. You also find many of these 'people' aren't locals at all, but other nationality arabs pretending to be Emirati - seems to make them feel better about themselves.

Most clinics are fine with STD screening. Try the GMC on beach road. It's probably just the 'ac flu' that's been going about - so many people have been ill with this for weeks on end. RE the flu jab - it's hit and miss, as they have to 'guess' the strain that will be about that particular year and there are thousands.

UAE iphones don't have facetime on them, you need to buy a UK or US imported unlocked phone. The 'grey' market shops have these, that's the independent electronics stores. Al Falakawi in Mirdiff CC has them.

I have one running all the time. You should know that filming someone without their knowledge in the UAE is illegal and if you ever presented a video to the police of your footage you could end up in jail. The question arises...why are you filming all of the time?? Here's the grey area, you CAN take footage but may only submit it to the police to report an incident. The sharing of it publicly is illegal. The police app for mobiles allows you to submit pics/videos straight to the police. I know plenty of people running GoPros on their dashboards and they do it so if there's an incident, there's immediate evidence as to who is at fault - none of this wasta BS, or he said/she said etc. And they will frequently send footage of wreckless drivers in so they can be fined etc. edited by FairyDust on 28/02/2015

In our community we have No playing, no pet, signs all over the place and it's usually because people have complained or there's been problems. I 100% agree with no pets in communal areas, especially if children go there - this has been a massive bug bear - with people allowing their dogs to use kiddie play areas as toilets. It is silly to say that children can't play. For the most part management turn a blind eye UNLESS there is an issue or people complain about something, then they use it as an excuse for warnings.

For the indoor range the SSC has stairs going up, so might not be ideal. Plus on the shooting front, not sure all parents would be thrilled about their kids being taken to mess about with fire arms. Most bowling alleys have the metal rigs to assist people who can't stand to bowl and I would have thought most would have wheel chair access.

Some of the animals have enough roaming space? What in a few feet? When these animals are used to 'roaming' hundreds of kilometres a DAY!!! I think you need to look up the definition of what it means to roam. Sorry Apricot, but with your posts you've basically clarified that you don't understand what proper animal welfare is, nor how these animals are meant to be kept and treated. When you've been to somewhere like Kenya and seen these animals in natural habitats - there's simply no comparison to seeing a caged animal. When you look at those animals and you look into their eyes, they're soulless. Their fire, their light has died at being caged, couped up, taunted, it's awful. Pacing is boredom and frustration in an animal. It's like taking you and shoving you in a glass box for the rest of your life. Awful.

I hate to say it, but Apricot's post dismays me! Basically it's convenient for HER and she clearly has little concept or education on animal welfare and what a good zoo environment should be. (wanted to add, that this isn't a reflection on her, as maybe she simply doesn't know any better, which is where education comes in). Go to Al Ain zoo and see the difference. Where the animals have space to roam about and behave naturally - to an extent. They have special areas for children to interact with certain animals, run educational programs and internship programs where people and children can learn about animals, how they should be cared for properly etc. Dubai zoo is NOT a good place to educate children on how animals should be cared for or how they should live. In actual fact it's the perfect example of what NOT to do. Shame. edited by FairyDust on 19/02/2015

Sadly CM, many people don't understand the concept of voting with their feet. The zoo is terrible, cramped inappropriate conditions, animals that are clearly bored and stressed. I can't really blame the curator, as sadly many of the animals in there have been confiscated and given to him or dumped, so they do what they can with what they've got. But people have been campaigning for years to have it shut down and a proper facility built for the animals. I went there once - years ago and I swore never again. edited by FairyDust on 18/02/2015

Susan at Ted Morgan, Motorcity. Bear in mind, depending how dark your hair is, you cannot do it all in one go. You have to do it in stages. I do 'flood and lights' so highlights with another colour running through and each time we lighten it a bit more. It;s far kinder on the hair and gives more depth as you don't just have a block of colour.

OMG - so basically 3 hunting/working breeds all rolled into one! That is going to take some occupying. Have you got any brain training toys? Like the Kongs you put kibble in that they have to roll about to get the biscuits out? My last dog was a GSD X Collie and she need stimulation pretty much all the time or she would wreck everything. You need to keep his brain active and wear him out mentally.

What breed is he? Is he neutered? I have an 8 month old puppy and the only way to stop him being destructive was through some training. He gets walked twice a day up to 5km a time - he's a saluki X so goes on and on. But the exercise isn't always enough, they need their brains stimulating. Neutering them calms them down a lot as well. Dogs aren't naturally nasty or malicious - that's humans imposing their emotions onto animals and it's just not the case. There's always an underlying reason for a dogs behaviour. edited by FairyDust on 17/02/2015
