In what respect? It's all very well trying to find an outsider to teach manners, but children predominantly learn what is taught at home and take on what their parents practice.

Hi Any recommendations for a Phycologist or Marriage counsellor to help move a marriage forward when one partner has been cheating. Some research pointed towards Nicola Beer and Lavina Ahuja at Lifeworks. But if you have any personal recommendations. That would really help Once a cheater, always a cheater. I recommend that you either get over it or move on. Not helpful, or constructive. Who are you to say people can't deal with it and move forward. Sometimes if you have nothing nice to say - don't. Sorry OP, I don't have anyone to recommend for you, but wish you all the best. Stay strong.

I'm a little confused by this as families were put up in hotels or given alternative flats by Ajman government and are getting compensation for their losses - as reportedly in virtually all the news papers.

No idea. I guess you need a multi-entry visa. But the immigration guy was going mental screaming and shouting at people, who had no idea what they'd done wrong and couldn't understand the issue.

They seem to have changed the visa rules without telling anyone. Had a friend who went out during her 30 day visa and came back in, got hauled up at the airport and fined 2,000 dhs for over stay!!! UK passport holder. There was a whole bunch of people in the same situation and the immigration guy was screaming and shouting at everyone. how did she overstay considering she left the country !! Exactly! Seems they're now counting the 'out' days as well, if it's within the 30 day period. She said there was a long queue of people all with the same issue. So basically if you have a 30 day visa, go out for say 5 days during that time, then leave at the end, they count the 5 days out as overstay.

Get divorced. There is absolutely zero point in staying with someone who doesn't want to be with you and has checked out of your marriage. The other woman will start bugging him to do it soon enough anyway, why would you put yourself and your children through that? They'll end up with parents who hate and resent each other and that does no one any good. Get the divorce, make him pay his alimony and monthly child support and move on with your life.

There's only a couple of shelters. All the other rescue groups have their dogs in foster homes and hold regular adoption days. If you go back to my previous post in this thread, I list lots of them and you can find their facebook pages.

They can get the cousin to take what he's bought back. It's not their fault really, as they probably didn't know. But it's a massive inconvenience to you obviously. My only issue would be is if they called the police and make a real fuss, you just don't know what would happen. Give them options, they can either come and take the furniture - seeing as they bought it. If not, you'll be keeping some of the money as compensation for another lost sale.

Your first consideration would be having a child when not married as this is not allowed in Dubai although some people have not had trouble with it. Then if the father's name is on the child's birth certificate you would probably need his consent. I wouldn't say the first piece of your post is true. It's have a child out of wedlock HERE! If the child has been born to unmarried parents elsewhere, it's not their business. I know plenty of single parents living here, who came here with their children, were never married and never had any issues. So long as all the paperwork is done, there shouldn't be an issue.

well if the fine states you're 21-30 kms over the speed limit, then clearly the limit has changed or you're going faster than 120. They've been changing a lot of speed limits and reducing the grace limit on many roads recently. Go slower and see what happens.

I'd get your SIM card on arrival at the airport, it doesn't cost much and they do a travellers option that you can go for. Just be aware that Thursday the 5th is a public holiday, so many people might be away for the long weekend. Also, why the age range? Possibly narrows down the options a little.

Please don't buy a puppy. There simply are no ethical breeders here and they pretty much all come from puppy mills in Eastern Europe - which is a vile and cruel trade - many with fudged paperwork, not vaccinated properly and sick. You could spend thousands on a dog, then end up paying thousands more in vet bills. Interestingly there seems to have been a spate of abandoned Labs at the moment - my friend just adopted one, who's owner couldn't be bothered with it anymore. Sadly, unless people have experience with this breed, many forget that they are actually working dogs and can be highly strung, needing lots of exercise and stimulation. Take a look at the rescue groups on facebook. Animal Action UAE, SNIFFm Dubai Senior Dogs Projects, Sharjah Cats and Dogs Shelter, Dubai Animal Welfare Society, Posh Paws. Please consider a mixed breed dog, there are so many poor pups in desperate need of a loving home and they really do make the best pets - I have two and their breed is AWESOME!

I've had TMJ before, when I had braces which caused me to grind my teeth at night - very painful. All the muscles were tight and stressed, so I had some osteopathy treatments to relax it all. This was a long time a go. I would suspect that most osteopaths will be able to assist, but you probably need someone good at cranial osteopathy. Are you stressed? Teeth grinding? Never heard of TMJ being linked to sleep apnea, but apparently it does happen. You could try the Excellency centre in Downtown, as they're very good with most kinds of osteopathy.

It's not professional or credible, but sadly in the world we live in today, where so many people, especially youngsters strive for internet stardom, thanks to the likes of the Kardashians, it's happening a LOT. Also I've been shocked that companies in some sectors, before they employ you for a job, want to know how many facebook, twitter and instagram follwers you have - it's ridiculous. Whatever happened to being professional and being able to do a good job?

Depends what sort of work sector. Plenty of people have freelance visas these days and work self-employed for others, I do, certainly nothing wrong in that. There are also companies that offer visas, they do it legally and above board and arrange everything for you, have several friends who have done that. The traditional 'sponsor' visa route doesn't always apply these days, as there are many other options.

My mother used to work in admin in an educational institution. The Emiratised many of those roles or will use people from other countries who they don't have to pay as much as someone coming from the UK or another western country. I suspect they'll also see you as very over qualified. 6 months is nothing to be looking for a job here. Sadly many companies are currently laying off in the downturn. You might have to look at other roles and sectors.

Used to go to GMC on beach rd. Just as a heads up, if you haven't had it before, it's worth asking the Dr to give you the pill with the same hormones to see how you get on. The depo isn't for everyone and can have some really bad side effects for some people and once it's in you, you've had it for the next 3 months.

Very odd. Never heard of that. They changed the rules for Shengen passport holders so that they can only be in the UAE for upto 90 days within any 180 day period. Always thought that if you left, you got stamped out then got a new 30 day visa next time you came back in again - otherwise people wouldn't be able to do visa runs.

I was going to say, one assumes you're going to offer money for food, litter, emergency vet treatment if required and some monetary compensation. Sadly if you don't I don't think you'll get any takers, for fear of them being dumped with whoever offers to look after them. Sadly this has happened a LOT in the past and the poor person then ends up with animals, they don't want, can't keep, can't find homes for. ETA: I'd probably also take a deposit off you, the equivalent of the cost of a cattery, just you make sure you are serious about coming back for them.

My best advice to you? Throw away the scales. It's known as the 'sad step' for a reason, in that people get hung up over what the needle or digits are showing them. Go by how your clothes fit, how you look in the mirror and how you feel. Also don't get hung up on calorie counting either - you know your body requires around 1,000 - 1,500 calories a day just to live, before you even start doing anything? So by drastically reducing calories you actually put your body into a starvation mode. Cardio = great. Weights = even better. Muscle burns fat, tones and speeds up the metabolism. If you can do interval training, this really fires up the body and you'll be burning calories hours after any of those workouts. I have friends who put on several kilos, but got thinner, because although 1 pound of fat weighs exactly the same as 1 pound of muscle. Muscle is leaner and denser and takes up less space. Also reassess your diet. Smaller portions, while it's good, still isn't great if you haven't changed your eating habits and are still making poor unhealthy choices. People think losing weight is easy, it's not. It's a lifestyle change and it's a long, hard slog.

The standard contract has the rule applied that I wrote. There is no classification of days. If a public holiday happens to fall within your leave you do not get t as an extra day later. IE the lawentitledis: minimum 30 days leave per years maximum 40 days (additional 10 as there are 10 LL leave days afforded by the law), not guaranteed 40 days. It is really clear in the Labour Law. Have a look at it. Everyone should know the LL. I think I've only ever had one company here give 30 calendar days, all the others, including the company I last worked for gave 22 working days. What the LL says and what companies actually do, can be two completely different things. And actually according to the Labour Law, the 30 calendar days leave is only once a person exceeds one years service. Under a year, after the 6 months probation an employee accrues 2 leave days per month, so in a year that would be the 22 days. So if you have a year rolling renewable contract it's 22 days. If you have an unlimited contract then it's 30 days. Our contracts were always renewable yearly, hence the 22 days.

Sorry to be brutally honest, but NO machine will reduce cellulite. It's fat under the skin and the only sure fire way to reduce it is through diet, exercise and drinking tonnes of water. Basically all these 'costly' machine procedures do is massage the areas and increase blood flow which reduce the look of it - this you can do at home, with daily body brushing and massaging the areas. Many people use coffee as well, as it's stimulant that increases the blood flow to the area. Anything that increases the circulation i.e. exercise will reduce it. Even skinny people have cellulite, because it can be hereditary and due to a sedentary lifestyle. All these machines do is reduce the 'look' and it's temporary. There is no quick fix to it. That's the reality.

Sorry I disagree that antibiotics aren't damaging - constantly using them weakens the immune system. I constantly had tonsillitis as a child and the docs gave us antibiotics 'just because' where we were living. My immune system is now shot to pieces, I have high resistance to antibiotics and some don't even work. They destroy all the good bacteria in the body and then you can have side effects alongside, so you need to be giving him probiotics as well, to boost the good bacteria in the gut and also in the rest of the body. If it's Strep throat, I assume they swabbed and diagnosed it? It's VERY contagious and is passed from one person to another. Given his age, is he in kindergarten or nursery school? If so, he could well be picking it up from other infected children. Might be worth keeping him away until it's all cleared up. Use Manuka honey - the highest UMF you can find, anything around 20+ - it's excellent at killing bacteria and soothing the throat, as a natural alternative. You need to keep him hydrated with lots of fluids. To help the throat, lots of warm liquids, hot honey with lemon and ginger - this is also an amazing remedy that's helps. If it IS Strep, then you need to disinfect EVERYTHING! Everything you all share, plates, cups, utensils. Because it keeps recurring, the bacteria is hanging around somewhere, so either in your home or places where he's coming into contact with it. Hope he gets better soon. But in personal experience, lay off the antibiotics, they're not good for long term use and shouldn't be used long term. Trust me on that from personal experience.

Nope, it depends whether you get 30 calendar days holiday or 22 working days as holiday. if it's calendar days, the weekends are counted. if it's working days, then they aren't. This is how I used to get 'extra' holiday days, because I'd book my leave from the Sunday, returning on the Thursday, so I'd get 9 days holiday and only have 5 deducted.

That's all sounds very 'off'. Normally a bank would provide you with documentation of missed payments. I'd raise it with Central Bank - they are the governing body for all banking in the UAE. If they're refusing to provide you with evidence of so-called missed or owing payments, that doesn't sit right at all.
