Are you muslim? I believe pre-marriage medical checks are only for muslims - they don't do this for non-muslims. Certainly we didn't have to do this when we got married in Dubai.

Careem offers customers the ability to book immediate car rides, or later rides for those moments when you need to guarantee a taxi ride to an appointment or to catch a flight! [url=Careem'>www.careem.com[/url'> is particularly useful when requesting a pick up upon arriving into either Abu Dhabi International Airport or Dubai International Airport. Careem Captains wait for you inside the arrival hall, helping you avoid having to wait in long lines when you arrive after a tiring trip. You can also book them to make airport transfers if you’re only transiting in either Emirate. Careem Captains are trained to provide the best service to clients. Careem has developed their own maps and navigation system so that customers don’t need to instruct Captains or give directions at any point; you can pay in cash for your ride or sign up with your credit card to simplify paying for rides. This is amazing - You also get 20% off if you sign up with MasterCard ! Also, I heard that they treat their drivers better. For instance, they call them "Captain" instead of "driver", everyone who works or drives for Careem gets a share in the company, and they Captains get a bigger cut from each ride they take than Uber drivers. Hmm commenting on a 2 year old thread, with something that is blatantly an advert? Not very stealthy now is it.

I wouldn't recommend Dermacare. They are over aggressive and cut 26 freckles/moles out of me. I looked like I had been shot in the back! (And of course each one cost hundreds of dirhams) When I later saw a second dermatologist she told me that at most I may have needed 3 or 4 removed based on my skin type and other marks. Mole mapping and monitoring is key... I would recommend Dr Julianne Reuter but not sure what clinic she is based at these days... So another dematologist gave that recommendation AFTER the moles were removed? Then how would they know whether they require taking off or not? Were they removed AFTER mole mapping? I had about the same and many of the ones removed were already turning when biopsied. I'd rather an aggressive approach and a few scars than the alternative. (Insurance coverage willing obviously.) I think your comment is unfair to be honest and it depends on the situation your in at the time.

Technically Air BnB is illegal in the UAE as all holiday lets have to be run and managed through an agent. Careem are far better than Uber, Uber price surge too much.

I went to Dermacare Skin Centre on Al Wasl road. Don't leave it. Depending what type of abnormality it is, it could spread quite quickly. Best go and see someone asap.

Ted Morgan are very good for colour and they also do Keratine. I'd advise doing the keratine first, as is does change colour in hair and usually lightens it by about a shade or two.

I did the 7lbs in 7 days detox - hated it. I never got the 'energy boost' everyone was raving about. Also felt bad at wasting all the good bits of the fruit and veg - would rather smoothie than juice. The 5:2 plan is dead easy, basically just eat 500 calories 2 days a week. Much easier.

Another reason NOT to believe what you read in the Cyprus Mail. It's beginning to look as though it's not a domestic. Sounds to me that someone jumped to conclusions for a good story. If anyone is flying to Cyprus today, all planes are diverted to Paphos (and flying over our house!) Standard in any hijack situation that other flights are diverted. Anyway turns out his explosive belt is fake (no surprise) everyone is off the plane and he's been arrested. Cyprus Mail? Didn't know that existed - went with, oh what every other single news outlet was reporting. Anyway glad everyone is safe.

My friend went the legal route, they had what we all thought was a water tight case - guess what? Came down on the side of the LL. Sadly laws which profess to be in favour of tenants, very often aren't.

Yes, they do. But not in gyms. It's the places that do self-defence classes that teach it, so you either have to pay for private tuition or arrange a group. Google it and there's a few places that teach it.

I had a French gelish manicure at The Cure, Green community and it's excellent. Looks really natural and they did a great job. Just FYI you should give your nails a break after 2 or 3 applications.

The simple answer is no. Visitors cannot drive a private car, they'll have to rent one. Some insurance companies will tell you it's ok, but should they have an accident, the police will have a very different view.

Please adopt don't shop. There are NO ethical breeders in the UAE. All the dogs in pet shops come from puppy mills, mostly from eastern Europe. So many have fudged paperwork, are brought in too young and aren't vaccinated properly. There's a massive issues with shop bought dogs at the moment. I understand that people have a preference for certain breeds sometimes. But why not pop along to one of the rescue organisations adoption days - they happen virtually every weekend. You never know a pup you never even considered might just steal your heart. Rescue organisations to look at: K9 Friends Scads Animal Action UAE SNIFF Dubai Senior Dogs Project Dubai Animal Welfare To name just a few.

3. Can he ban you from working in Dubai? No - due to recent labour law revisions, a labour ban is no longer enforceable as of 1st January 2016. As AdventureB says not applicable to certain workers. The new rules don't cover everyone.

Well I disagree with your disagreement! I've basically used pretty much every pill going, because it took that long to find one right for me. You need at least 3 months to see if any pill is suitable or not and how it will affect you. You can't just chop and change from one to another, as others have higher risks than others - YES contraceptive pills carry risks - as some leave you prone to DVT and other health issues, whether you're a smoker or not is also a big factor with some. Just because some pills are 'similar' does NOT mean they will work the same way. Shocking advice to be honest. You must ALWAYS consult your doctor when it comes to these meds.

Really your doctor needs to be consulted with regards to any type of medications. Different pills have different effects on different people. If you've been prescribed it by your doctor and they know you were taking microgynon, then I would assume they have picked Yasmin as the best replacement for it.

I had mine done at Dr Michael's. I had ceramics on top and the plain metal brackets on the bottom. Cost about 16,000 dhs in all. Also something bear in mind about having braces as an adult, is that the removable retainers don't work very well. I have permanent retainers cemented behind my front teeth. If you aren't vigilant then you're teeth will just move back and the time, pain and expense will be a waste. I would say very much you get what you pay for here. My current dentist said my orthodontist did an excellent job - he's seen some real mess ups when it comes to braces and retainers.

Tricky one. You can try some of the rescue groups, they do come up sometimes. With these animals you have to bear a few things in mind. Many species require CITES paperwork and you have to get permission and lots of paperwork to take it anywhere. It WILL outlive you! Some have a lifespan of 150 years. So there needs to be provision for that. Not always the easiest of animals to keep. You have to let them hibernate in the cooler months etc.

The Al Maha Desert resort is truly spectacular and you get to do some activities like a sunset camel ride into the desert for bubbles, early morning falconry etc. The individual rooms with private pools are just incredible. It really is something special. Pricey though, but well worth it for something a bit extra special.

I just love the way everyone comes down on the maid, without ANY info of what happened. Maybe it was something the children did that made her lose it? Anyone thought of that? Given the behaviour of many children I've seen, some of them well and truly deserve a clip round the ear. Point is, always two sides to every story. We're only getting one. So don't pass judgement.

I assume you mean bejewelled cuffs, that attach through a piercing then have embellishments that go up the ear and not the old 80's thick silver band type that just clips to the top of the ear. Swarovski have some - I have a small pair from them. Most jewellers are carrying them now.

Well our family lived in Saudi for a few years when my brother and I were small. It was great then, but when we got a bit older, we moved back to the UK and our father stayed working there and he came home every couple of months. I'd say Saudi is good for small children, but for older ones and especially girls, I wouldn't say it's a great society to bring them up in - too many restrictions. Plus sorry to say, but with all the unrest in the region, the UAE is far safer than Saudi right now.

But then it prides itself on extra strong security, so I'm sure they've already got a seamless workaround which is why there's been no disruption in my services. Ahhhh no which shows shall I binge watch this weekend:biggrin: Enjoy it while it lasts  Considering what I pay for my service, as I require a secure network, I expect it NEVER to be blocked.

Netflix is only blocking *** use in Australia at the moment. As I said previously it's more likely the UAE TRA that have blocked your *** - easy way to figure this out is check if you are able to access other sites using it, if not then it's the TRA and not Netflix, in which case you'll have to use another one.

Also normally I'm not the person who advocates getting married 'just because', and usually it's fine to cohabit with no issues here. However, you have a child involved and the fact that your BF would also be your employer and sponsor complicates things massively. It really is your only option to avoid hassles.

His response was 'shall I go and talk to the authorities about it?' - erm yeah that's not a smart idea.

Been living in Remraam for 3 years - really like it here. All the pools are finished, waiting on the gym. Basically you have two sides - Al Thamam which has the Geant, Coffee Shop, Barbers, dry cleaners, mosque, 2 pools, tennis and basketball courts as well as the temp sports pitches - they're also building a nursery at the moment. And Al Ramth - which is where all the construction is furiously going on at the moment so apartments there tend to be cheaper for now. Access is a massive issue at the moment, without a connecting road to Motor City. The new Al Yalais (sp) road makes getting to DIP, Green community, 311 and Shk Zayed road much easier. The construction quality is pretty poor. Had issues in the apartments I've lived in. Top floor apartments have noise and vibration issues from the roof AC unites. Corner units seem to have leaking issues from apartments above them. Sadly although it is pretty affordable housing, that means there's been a downside to it, with hotel and other companies bulk renting for their staff and cramming people into apartments. We've had issues with uneducated people 'messing' in the pools. A few 'thug' children causing issues - but you know this can happen everywhere, it's a case of educating your neighbours. I've like living in Remraam. If you're looking to buy - the agents / private owners will try and get as much as they can. Go directly to DPG they had a list of apartments to buy directly from them (the developer) and had 20% off the purchase price.

Get rid of the housing fee? er you pay council tax in most other countries - same thing. As Rawla correctly says, if they were to introduce income tax, then they have to offer benefits to go with people paying it. You can't just take from people like that and not offer anything in return.

Sadly IndieOz, the options you've used are all 100% ILLEGAL and carry fines of all involved if caught. You cannot employ a person on someone else's sponsorship, even IF they give their permission. Fines of upto 50,000 dhs for all involved and deportation for the poor person doing the work - not worth it.
