Have you tried calling Creative Minds? They might have it in their baking section. Just mentioning it as it's not always obvious they stock baking equipment.

I ordered some Solgar Vitamin E Softgels from the US that my sister brought across to Dubai. Unfortunately, they turned out to be the non-vegetarian ones and so I will not be consuming them. If anyone is interested in buying them at cost price (and not exorbitant local pharmacy prices), please look up my ad in the classifieds section. Thanks! http://www.expatwoman.com/dubai/classified_detail.aspx?pid=30&cid=classifieds&clid=237727

I have this problem with a baking sheet and a low-sided baking pan (both different brands). Each time I'm baking something at a temperature of 200C or over, the corners bend upwards while in the oven so one side of the food being baked starts browning/cooking faster than the other side. Any suggestions for brands of baking sheets that don't suffer from this issue? Probably best to get something used in commercial kitchens so if anyone knows of a restaurant equipment supply store, that would be great! Thanks.

Arab food is generally healthy - lots of grilled meat and different salad options. You can pick and choose depending on how 'healthy' you want dinner to be. There are so many delivery options based on your budget. Similarly, Persian grilled food or Greek Gyros are alternative options. Fuschia in Tecom has really good authentic Thai food and it's hot when delivered. ETA - Bateel do really good light pastas and fit within your budget. For pizzas, healthiest option is Freedom or NKD. Rosso Vivo are excellent as well. Zaatar w zeit do pizzas as well.

Hi bubble_trubble I have never heard of WFS Plus but I have been prescribed and have used Ovacure which contains both Myo-inositol and D chiro inositol as well as Folic Acid. I can't seem to find WFS Plus as a PCOS treatment using a Google search either so better to double-check or just opt for a different supplement brand as the supplements themselves are what are needed and not the specific brand. I can't comment on their effectiveness as I never stuck to it long enough (for unrelated reasons) but I would be interested to know how you fare after regular use. Good luck!

You could also check the Hemani herbal stall in Oasis Center (if it's still located there). http://shop.hemaniherbal.us/Cinnamon-Oil-30ml_p_250.html

I've bought clove oil from the pharmacy at Lulu (Al Barsha) - it's used for toothaches. Maybe you could call and check if they have cinnamon oil?

You can get folding foam mattresses from any of the big hypermarkets (Carrefour, Lulu, Union Coop). They're more comfortable than toppers but not as comfortable as a normal bed mattress. They fold up so easy to store. You can also get regular single mattresses from the hypermarkets but you'll have to store them by sliding them under a bed or standing them up against a wall as they're not fold-able.

Yes - I realised that. I was hoping there would be a way around it that didn't involve a v_n. If I do access the site, does anyone know if they would accept non-UK credit cards for online orders and UK delivery?

Thanks sarahlou! I've used US and UK delivery options with no problem as well - just didn't want to make a relatively pricey purchase and risk not getting it delivered. I'll wait and see if anyone else responds with any personal reviews.

Actually, recycling is sorted after collection (glass/paper/metal) in the US as well. They must have some sort of mechanical systems in place at the recycling plants. The difference is that here we have to pay to recycle by contacting this company or sort through the material ourselves and then haul it to the free recycling bins set up in very limited areas as opposed to be some sort of incentives to encourage it. People do collect recyclable materials from the trash and sell it to recyclers as a way of earning extra income (I've seen it in both developed and not-so-developed countries) but have not seen it here at all.

I've been looking into this myself recently. A quick google search came up with this company's website - http://www.enviroserve.ae/services/green-truck/ They charge AED100 a month and are responsible for collection and sorting of the recyclable materials. I have to check if they offer this service in the area where I live. The only reason I haven't called them yet is I don't know where to store the recycling bin for an entire week inside my small apartment.

The Taj Mahal is located in Agra, near New Delhi, and nowhere near Mumbai. It shouldn't take up more than a day out of your week. I have no idea about resort holidays in India. If you're looking for a relaxing resort holiday in a green environment, you'd probably get more options in Sri Lanka.

Thanks for the suggestions. I wouldn't know the first thing about buying an authentic persian rug! I'd probably get seriously ripped off. My sister's lived in Turkey for a bit as well, so the bowls and lanterns would have to be of a different style - where should I looks for these? I was thinking something like painted camel figurines or a small silver dhow model or some unique art-work that isn't just a picture of the burj al arab.

Any idea if the stylists at Maria Dowling are comfortable with thick hair? I've noticed that western stylists often get intimidated/overawed by thick hair. On my last visit to Salon Ink, the stylist told me to book an extended time appointment next time I came in as it would take her about 45 minutes to an hour to blow-dry my hair. I never went back again as I know it doesn't take that long. I've had it blow-dried beautifully by lebanese/arab male stylists in 20 to 25 minutes at various salons (Jet Set Grosvenor House, Juan's Salon, En Vogue - some that I remember). So please do update if anyone with thick hair has had a good experience at Maria Dowling - for cut and blow-dry. Thanks! Sorry for hijacking!
