More importantly, how do your children answer the cricket question??. My children have dual nationality, although just hold a British passport but they were born in the West Indies.....when cricket is on, the oldest supports England but the youngest definitely is behind the Windies! From what I understand the actual day has been declared on Wednesday, so it will be dry from Tuesday evening to Wednesday evening (usually around 6/7).

Raffles do a traditional roast on Friday. They also have special children's food section, even make your own pizza. Very child friendly with video games and DVD playing, plus ice your own cookies. Under 12s eat free too.

It's on Khawaneej Rd - which is the continuation of Airport Rd. You just go straight up and you will see it on your left hand side - up to roundabout and Uturn back to it. Arabian Centre also has a Matalan, aswell as many top shops..oh and a post offcie too... and apart from weekend evenings it's usually empty!!

Why don't you decorate a piece of card with footprints and hand/fingerprints of your little one and then add a photo. Date it and put the whole lot in a frame. I did this for my DH 's 30 th b'day when DDs were 2 and 2 months and it is still on the wall some 13 Yrs later! Good Luck edited by flyingfinn on 17/06/2011

If you're going to India to primarily see the Taj then it would be worth staying overnight in Agra - seeing it at sunrise is fab.. and will be less busy too (Nov is prime tourist season). The Oberoi Amarvilas has every room facing the Taj, awesome! - expensive, but just adds to the whole experience! (if not, just pop in to the hotel for a drink as the bar has a terrace with a great view too)- A more reasonable hotel is the Trident, the same hotel group as the Oberoi. I agree with manubhadauria that Jaipur is worth a visit (I lived there for 3 years, so am biased!) - fab budget hotel to stay is Umaid Bhavan - old haveli with quirky rooms and pretty central too. (Best hotel would be Oberoi Rajvilas for a complete splurge!!) Reasonable hotel in Delhi, I would recommend Jukaso Inn, 3 star, very central. Delhi hotels are expensive otherwise. Travelling by train is a fun and cheap way - book shatabti trains and food and mineral water is included in trip perfectly fine to eat..did it often with DDs). Delhi, Jaipur, Agra is called the Golden Triangle - a great glimpse at India. If you need any additional info, would be glad to help.

I work in a nursery school here. We are not allowed to mention Easter at all,or do any craft with eggs, bunnies etc in case we offend any Muslims in the school - yet Aswaq, a very local supermarket, has a huge Easter display and promotion, written in English AND Arabic, so as to include everyone. Go figure!!

I let my teenager DD take the metro on her own. First time we did trip together so she knew exactly where to go etc. Now she txts me when she gets on and when she gets off. There are security staff around and she's in the woman's carriage. I would rather she use metro or bus than a taxi.

The service station for the drinks was horrid! Ordered a simple on me u drink and waited 10 minutes while 6 staff just stood huddled together over one other order. The section that sold oatmeal cookies had staff that knew about customer service and progression at least. I asked around now about Boy George's comments , he had said he has one god a blue god. Apparently he is a devout Follower of Buddah so I don't see he meaning to offend Surely if BG's God is blue, then he's a follower of Lord Krishna, and hence a Hindu?... Fab night either way (bar fiasco and Belinda's sound not included) :)

Raffles Hotel are doing a Royal Roast, starting at 11.30 with Pimms in the garden, then the full on roast, with live feed of the wedding and then wedding cake in Crossroads. Street party for the children, under 12 eat free. Decorations, etc, wedding attire optional. Sounds like a lot of fun - the chef is a Brit, so I'm sure it will be done properly!
