Morning Can someone give me directions from JLT? TIA From JLT, get on to Sheikh Zayed and take exit 47 to Jumeirah. It comes just after the Oasis Mall. Once you take the exit, and as you cross into Jumeirah, you will see the park on your right. There's a signal straight ahead, take a right from there and park according to the gate you want to be at. Hi Stovetop The directions you given me seem to be the Big Safa Park. There is a small Safa 2 Park apparently near Kangaroo Nursery??? edited by Sham on 14/02/2011

Hi MB Well, she has been putting her knickers on but then she tends to holds everything in (doesnt want to go on the potty/toilet) Once nappy goes on that it she releases everything! Why I asked about the Pull ups I dont wanting to buy 2 lots of nappies one for day and night (save a bit of money) thought I could use pull ups at nights too. I know that this is not the point of the thread but if your DD can sense the difference between diapers and underwear and waits to pee in her diaper, then you could kind of say that she is potty-trained and you probably need to give up diapers all together (except at night) and see if she will give up and decide to pee on the toilet. Just an update DD is in knickers now she has had numerous accidents which is part of the process. Using pull ups for night time only. Now,we have been invited out to a playdate later this afternoon. (Which am thinking of cancelling) Do I leave DD in her knickers she hasnt pee in the potty/toilet yet?? which is a dilemma, she will most probaly pee when we out or do I put her in those training pants which I have explained to her not to wee or poo in . HELP ...I know it would help if I avoid going out but with the weather being nice we dont want to stay in. HELP :(

http://www.saferdriver.ae/ It's the second time I've recommended them in as many days - I don't work for them, honest! I've only used them with my own car for the drive home service but they also can provide a car and driver. Hi Daza Would you know they would do nursery drop off and pick up. I have the car just want a driver for 2 1/2 weeks. Thanks.

Shams gymnastics don't start till 4 years. I've tried to get a hold of Dubai olympic gymnastics (they have a website) and they never replied to me. I even called but no answer or call back. They are very reasonable in price. The others are quite expensive. Ive booked in for a trial at My Little Gym in Ibn. I was recommeded Dubai olympic gymnastics but its distance is ther problem want something closer to home. Have you had any luck with any other places? The thing is we live 2 minutes drive from Shams and DOGC so it's very convenient. I might even pop over to the DOGC and talk to someone in charge. If that fails, then I'll try the others. Is the trial at Little Gym 95aed? Yes, its 95dhs, expensive isnt it? for a trial.

I am sure they would let you try to see how your daughter likes it - especially with the little ones. I did not do that, bought the 7 week course straight away - about Dhs 450 or so for 7 weeks. And my DD has liked it a lot so we keep on going and renewing after every 7 weeks. One advice, do not buy all the expensive gear - all little girls will need to wear pink ballet outfits, tights, the shoes etc - until you know your DD will continue. Cello sells these outfits but you should be able to find elsewhere aswell. The first couple of weeks, lots of girls were in different outfits. Thanks Mokkapala for the heads up. Might go for Gymnastic instead now DD is shy and very alone. I want her to mix with other toddlers of her age and be more confident. She very shy and does her own thing. Many thanks for your advice about Cello and will definatly sign up in the future.

From Shalespeare and the men's hair salon, you turn to left and Hayaa Club is just there. Cello is there - my daughter does ballet there. Very nice place.[/quote Thanks mokkapala for the directions. I wanted to check out the ballet place out for my DD. How old your DD if you dont mind me asking and how did she find the classes. My DD 3 yrs old so lookign for something for her to do. edited by Sham on 30/01/2011 The ballet place is ok in my opinion, my daughter likes her ballet classes a lot. She started few months ago and has just turned 3 herself. Same as your daughter! It is a nice activity for the little girls. My daughter is now into all the pink, ballet, princess stuff. And she then likes to show us at home what she has learnt. They have classes during afternoons and Saturdays also. Thats sounds positive Def will check it out. Do they give you a trial run before commiting? would you know?

Cello is in the Spinneys Town Centre. You need to go to Hayya Club - from where you see all those ATMs. You go through the entrance to Hayya club reception and Cello is there at your left handside. Thanks mokkapala Is is near Mac D's I did see ATM machine and saw an entrance but wasnt sure whether that was the location.. edited by Sham on 30/01/2011

I see its the norm via book which I dont have a problem with. My point am making is, I normally have a quick general chit chat and all of sudden it just broke down and when I asked something briefly today she just reponded in normal way as if she had just met me for the first time and no smiles and same goes for the assistant. This has been going on for couple of days now. Have no idea if this a new policy at the nursery. My Dh also got the cold shoulder when he drops DD to nursery and they normally chat briefly. Though I have noticed it was the same with the parents today via book no verbal communication. I dont want to over analyse but it was a really strange atmosphere.

Both. She tells me about the day and additional info is in the book to read. I use to get feedback verbally and a general chit chat (few weeks back) and all of sudden via book. Which I thought was strange. edited by Sham on 27/01/2011

Afternoon ladies When you pick your LO's at nursery and get feedback on the day from the teacher. Does your teacher give feedback verbally or does she writes it down in a book for you to take home and make comments and then return the book back? What are you thoughts?

Hi Sarah1 Sorry to hear you feeling down. I was in the same situation when I first arrived. Coming up to my 2nd year here. It does get better and life in Dubai is like a rollercoaster has it ups and downs. I have made some lovely friends on here and they have been great espcially when I was feeling down but as time goes and you feel settled everything falls into place. Now all I moan about is "not having enough time in the day" it flies by...LOL Hope you feel better soon x

@kimball 65 - Thanks for the encouragement. Ive been here nearly 2 yrs! Well done you in taking the plunge to drive! Done some research on the refresher course so hopefully I get the ball rolling. @tkoshy - Phoned emirates driving school they said they can provide me a female driver. Hopefully she be in a good mood. if I decide to go ahead. @KarenBlixen - Im likely to go with Belhasa and will ask for Bina. Big thanks! feel at ease now that you recommend someone which really helps you just dont know what instructor you going to get especially if they arent in a good mood! Don't do it..... Get someone you trust and who has drove here for a while to take you out..... Really the driving instructors here are really not up to much..... have you seen the quality of driving on the roads.... Hi Izzy99 Serious! I heard they were ok. All I want is to get use to driving on the other side of the road and feel confident in doing so. Looking at having 2 lessons max.
