Morning all My Food processor of 12 years (which was hardly used) has packed up! Used it one weekend and burning smell and smoke was coming out. I first thought it was the fuse but after that I was too scared to touch it and since its still sitting on my kitchen worktop am wondering whether it can be fixed if not where can I dispose it. Thanks.

Morning Anyone else knows the number to Rosgold cleaners? Ive tried Aston, Helping hands and Ultra they are all fully booked. I either want Wed. or Thurs. mornings for a weekly 4 hr cleaning ... Any other good comapanies Im missing that you can share ...Ive had a sri lankan cleaner in the past and now want to try a Philipina .. TIA

Year one is usually just a spelling sheet (the same 10 words per day each week) with a spelling 'test' the following Sunday. A reading book...usually get 2 a week as they master one well. We used Rosgold who were excellent. They cleaned absolutely everything, inside cupboards, got paint spots off floor, bird poo off balcony....literally everything. I would highly recommend them. In fact I'm going to call them to arrange for a weekly maid service. Can't remember the number but they have a website. Hi Can you kind to share the number of the company and how much per hour please?. Really desperate as I need a cleaner this week. The company I usually use has closed down; no idea when they will be up and running again.. TIA

Just recorded this programme and realised its series 1, Ive already seen this way before moving to Dubai (gutted) Ive watched all the series no idea what has happened to series 4. Such a fab programme.. come back Gok Wan I need my fix!! "sob sob"

Well don't forget that all cars over here are automatic so that is soo much easier than a manual. You will take to it like a duck to water, riding a bicycle .. catch my drift :) Maybe get a nice hire car too, and try out in that before buying somehting to really get used to the roads! I know what my DH's comment gonna be: we will get you a bumper car! :) Thanks for your support, my confidence is growing! Your welcome Div.

The new Carrefour has opened and it's quite big! Opposite Cluster Y, at JLT entrance! And the fresh fruit and Veg was......FRESH :) whohoo walking distance from me ..cant wait when the weather cools down so I can go for a afternoon walks:)

Hi Div Im in the same position as you. I have been here two years and just recently converted my UK licence to Dubai one. I also planned to take a refresher but I was told it was a waste of time and money. Dh has been taking me out every friday as its quieter on the roads and I did my first drive to Ibn buttuta last Friday (it was nerve wrecking but am glad I did) I am not a confident driver and I hardly drove in the UK but Im trying to get over my fear and get my confidence back. All my friends drive and its so fustrating I take taxi everywhere and taxi here are hit and miss some are nice some are totally a$$holes. My advice which I was given was get you DH/OH to take you out when its very quiet on the roads. I started off in a carpark then around JLT hopefully will get to do szr on friday eeekk HTH Good Luck..x

I'll join in. I'm doing the Shred anyway and I'm part of a FB group for this. I did Level 1 yesterdat and the day before, and last week. Now I'm ready for Level 2 (or I say I am :-p). ME ME ME ME!!!!! ok I gather you get how keen I am! ;) I did today, and 30 min of treadmil after :) Hi moonbean Question, do you run on the treadmill or fast walking with incline..I cant run, I look hideous! lol Hi I run on an incline, I normall have it on 4. Lucky for me the treadmill is in my bedroom, so only my 4 month DD to watch me! she does break out in a laugh every so often so enough said!;) LOL! have you seen results with mixing other excercise with the shred. I will try and do the shred everyday but not sure how this is going to work at the wkends? did you manage to do level 1 and 2 ??? your brave!

Hi everyone, I saw this thread and thought I should give the 30 day shred ago :). I've done my first day today and it went well, I expected I was going to be unfit and ofcourse my expectations were right :P. Fr!zzyBuzY you can do it, just think about the end of the month with exciting results that will motivate you. I'm not sure about doing the shred every other day as I'm not sure if the results will be the same but just remember it's only 20 mins a day:) You can definitely do it! Thanks for the encouragement UAE2012. I was so close in not doing level 1 this morning but I did it in the end! Day 1 Level 1 done and many more to come .... LOL How did you do today?

gok wan is on bbc lifestyle. 9th oct i think 8pm. gok is someone who gets women to love their bodies regardless of shape or size. the programme on here is not the naked one but one that pits him against 4 fashonistas, they do the 4 designer outfits and he does 4 modified high street designs and then they are sent out onto the catwalk for the public to decide if they know which is designer and which is high street and vote on their favs, so far the first two votes have been for highstreet. his road show goes to different cities each week, so far hes been to liverpool and birmingham. Thats Gok's fashion fix. I love that programme Ive watched all the series. Series 3 was the last one. BbC lifestle showing series 4??

Morning all Great to those manage to stick to eat. Im struggling to get back to it and just weigh myself, wish I didnt! arghhh havent lost anything ive gained 2 kilos!! I did so well before I left for the summer to UK. Its time of the month (which is not helping) i guess thats where the xtra kilos came from :( and I feel so bloated and **** So, my question is Do you ladies do other workouts with the shred and do you see results? Im getting bored with the routine everyday and Im thinking of doing the shred every other day and the days am not doing shred thinking of mixing it with either Pilates, Aerobics and Gym..What do you think? Will it work? Am I suppose to do the shred everyday religiously..?? Also what dumbell weights you all using atm im 1kg = 2lbs I need to see quick results so am trying to workout 5 days a week and rest at the wkend.. I need encouragement and right now I feel am back to square one :( TIA

Hi mums out there Need HELP! Digging out my old post..Update on DD. The pooing not happening she freaks out when she approach the potty/toilet and refuses to sit in it.Holds it all in until she screams out for her pullups!! arghhh Whenever we out shopping and sees something she likes I went my way to buy it and kept it when she eventually does the poo in the toilet ....but no lil miss is clever ..she says she doesnt wants her treats blah blah blah arghhhhh Please! am so fustrated I long for the day she totally out of pull ups and not having to wear them at night (thats another thing getting her to be dry at night) Ive explained to her why dont you sit in the potty/toilet with your pull ups (so she actually knows that the smelly thing goes down the loo) but no she refuses... She soon to be 4 yr old!! She wees in the toilet ok also when we out at the malls and sometimes I have to ask her in case she has a accident but she tells me when she has a full bladder and am literally having to drag her quick to the toilet OMG! Am I missing something here am I going about it the wrong way... I dont know what else to do... :(((

Does anyone know if Bridge Cleaning Services are still around? Have seen some good reviews for them but they're from a year or two ago. Yep they are still around. Ive been with them for 2 yrs. 35dhs an hour minimum hours 4.

Thanks ladies.. Everytime DD goes swimming she always picks up a illness whether it is a fever, ear infection or a cough she has a splash pool session once a week and she had a first session last week and guess what she feel ill over the wkend with a fever and a cough ..its always been the case when she enters a pool. I thought maybe her hair was wet and was left still plaited and her hair didnt get air dried ..(at the time I didnt think to tell the teacher to tie her up so it doesnt get wet) so I thought maybe I get her a swimming cap (no idea whether DD going to like the idea) she a fuss pot! Thanks ladies, will pop in malls during the week x

lol:-) had the same experience, MAC lady couldn't accept the fact that i have white skin! she was insisting on the foundation 2 tones darker then mine, it was very frustrating... LOL am the opposite to you am darker skinned and the woman at MAC insists 2 shades lighter:\: and told her ermmm this looks a bit ashy and grey btw !! she gave me a bit of a attitude and the look she gave me with it ...think she wanted to kill me ! for telling her that the colours she chose were simply wrong !

I am aware of Mauritians working in Dubai in Hotels and Spas but wasnt aware they are allowed to work as Nannies/maids certain nationalities like Indians, Sri Lankans and Philopinos are allowed.
