Sadly it's a bit of a battle to get married in U.A.E but it's a little easier if you are Muslim. A lot of factors come into play, your nationality and his nationality etc. The letter from your embassy should have shown that your not married in your country and legally deemed as single because your not married in your country of birth.Let me know how your situation goes. I am also doing my marriage court procedures, been rejected 2 times for different reasons. I'm from new zealand and Muslim also and I'm also divorced with attested documentation InshaAllah everything will work out fine for you.Keep me updated:)) Hi, thanks for your advice. My embassy say that because they cannot know if I married again (outside of uk) after my divorce they cannot give this confirmation. They did advise my statutory declaration should have been accepted. I have now been advised that I can get Divorce Status Declaration from the court if I go with two male muslim witnesses and pay AED100. Do you know if there is another court in Abu Dhabi (besides the main one behind Carrefour) that performs marriages? Thanks G

Hi, I just went through this process. We went to Al Maqta Medical Centre. You don't need appointment. They do blood tests for things like HIV, Chlamidya, Etc. Pick up results and certificates after 3 days (both of you need to go to collect). cost us about AED800 for both of us. Hope this helps G

Hi, I really need some advice. I am trying to marry in Abu Dhabi Court. We are both Muslim. I was previously married but now divorced and have my Decree Absolute (correctly attested). I also have a statutory declaration which states I am single which was prepared, signed and witnessed by the Pro Consul at the UK Embassy in Abu Dhabi. But the Judge said no .... He said I need a certificate to prove I am single. My statutory declaration states "I am single ...." but the judge requires it to say "We confirm she is single ...." (or something along those lines). My question is ... does such a certificate exist? If so, where can I get one? I would appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks Gaynor
