Car got picked today, my DH went with the guy and there is nobody at the service center which wanted to talk to him, except the head of reception!!!!! He ask him to keep quiet and solve the problem "internal" as its not happening often with them, its the first case in the last 7-8 months. What the #*%# is that? If i will bring the car the next time for service i will get a special price!!!! Does he really think i will give my car again to these idiots ???!!!!!

Today i was in contact with the service advisor and he would like to pick the car by tomorrow to repair his "mistake". So far so good but how i can make me sure that he will bring it really to the car dealer and not to one of his fellows ? The technician and the service advisor are the same nationality and both off tomorrow. He will take my car and will NOT hand over a receipt of the car dealer. The service manager was off today and other manager refused to talk to us. My DH would like to solve it in the easiest way without reporting them to the authorities. I dont agree on that. Feel more and more disappointed about this &%^&

please tell us the brand of the car or give us a clue at least I don't know if I'm allowed to do as I'm afraid the thread might be deleted. Please ladies checked your cars when their are back from service to avoid being in the same situation. edited by Gege_DXB on 27/06/2012

Sod that - call the cops / DED or someone - what they have done is damn right dangerous. Actually i was discussing that with my DH but we weren't sure whom to call or to solve it first with the car dealer itself. The most disappointing thing is that the European Service Manager of the company promise me to make a final check because as he thought there might me other things faulty from the wheel issue. I love that car brand, i even worked for them in the past (in my home country) and i wasn't expecting that anything like that would ever happen as this brand is a very well know for high quality standards.

sorry to hear that. I was 1000% sure that the Spinneys in City Stars will have a few products for you, as its the most "classy" supermarket in Cairo. I will try to talk to my MIL if she knew where to find some bread for you. I lived in Cairo before but i cant recall if there is any organic shop where you will get these products.

depends where you are in Cairo but you will find soya milk at Spinneys City Stars (Nasr City), Carrefour (Maadi) or Hyper One (6th October). Just try to find a place near to your flat where the most of the foreigners living/shopping there is the change bigger to find such "exotic things"

They are the yellow slips you get when you pay the 5000 dhs deposit for your first residence visa. These are receipts and you will not be refunded the deposit without them. edited by Di@DXB on 18/06/2012 I'm under husband sponsorship and can't remember to pay any deposit for my visa. IMO Zuma isnt a romantic place. Maybe Jumeirah Zabeel Saray or the new Rixos would be an option. I like to go to the Al Hambra, setting is nice and there is live music.

I I think non competition clauses are difficult to actually have imposed but I could be wrong. In my company all employees in senior or manager level must sign a non competition clause, to do not work for the competition or customer for the next 2 years after leaving our company.

We married 2 years ago at the court. Your finance must be Muslim. If you will visit the Dubai Court, the ladies at the reception are very helpful and will guide you will all the paperwork. If you aren't legalize your marriage in your home country, you are legally single there. Anyhow in my home country I'm able to legalize it any time after the marriage, due to horrible paperworks we will do it later on when we are settling down again in Europe.

The wife of a friend of us had TB while her childhood. She didnt pass the medical and is undergoing more test if she is still infected etc. As long as the investigations are not completed she is allowed to stay in the country. After that she will get a up to 1 year ban (for tourist and resident) or a life time ban, depends on the report of the ministry.

You have no rights other than end of service payment and notice period as per contract/law there must not be a reason that I am sure off ... worst case they make up a reason like a language skill etc edited by Nyranee on 10/05/2012 A friend of mine worked in HR. He advised that i would get 3 months compensation as i didn't got any warning. Labour law advise to give 3 warnings and after that you could get kick out. Does anybody if that is true ? Tried to call MOL Hotline but nobody is answering

sorry my first languages isn't english and i might be so confused to express myself in the right way. I received a call from a recruitment agency, which offered a job position in ABC company with titel xy. Lady advised i would fulfill that job description perfectly. The problem is that I'm working in ABC and have the titel xy. They offered me the job I'm working in at the moment. So I will be the person who will get terminated after their found a replacement for me. I'm wondering what are my rights? According to the labour law there must be a proper reason for a termination but there isn't. No warnings, not complains - nothing.

Unfortunatelly there is no way around as to get your husband to cancel the visa. He only needs to go with you to the immigration, fill up some forms and khalas. After that your company will be able to apply for your new residentvisa. My friend got recently divorce and changed her Visa from Husband sponsorship to her employer visa. Her Ex did a run because of his debits and her company fighted 2 weeks to sort out the visa issue as he refused to cancel her visa in person.

If a cheque is bounced your bank will give you more details - why its bounced (Signature, no money etc.) Its happend with us 2 years ago one cheque was bounced because of signature. Our LL got an report (signature not match - no balance problem) of his bank, their didn't charge him any fees as its was "only" signature. We got the hind the "signature issue" is mainly with banks like Mashreq or HSBC. I never faced problems like that with Emirates NBD

Same happend to me with 2 girls (around 20-22 years old) in an Arabic Restaurant, Parents (Mom and all other female family members) fully covered and the girls were almost naked with their pinkish dress. I was able to see the colour of their bra's. Yesterday we came back from a weekend in RAK, on the hotel beach was an european lady, lying on the beach topless. Employees of the hotel ask her kindly to wear the top but the refused. edited by Gege_DXB on 22/04/2012

My husband is suffering from pain in his in both knees since 10 years, doc's in Germany and Europe advice the only option to recover will be a surgery. If you will go the same way as to regular big RTA building, just follow the road (100m) and you will come to a petrol station with a lot of other small buildings around. There you will be able to do all paperwork which are needed to sell a car. I went there for getting a new car registration card (lost mine) and renew my registration of the car.

We were thinking to go to Tanzania in Juni but i could only flights to Dar el Salam and from there you need to take a domestic flight to Arusa. I'm scared about smaller airplanes to we canceled the idea. Same scenario for Zanziba. I would prefer to go to Cyprus rather than Tanzania. IMO easier to handle if you only have one week.
