I've not tasted the mint flavor but have tried the original and cinnamon. To be honest I don't find it that bad to drink but after the first few days I decided to mix it with about 100ml of water and down the lot, followed by lots of water of the next few hours.

I'm surprised the Touche Eclat (assuming YSL?) made a cakey look. Some concealers can "ball up" over certain eye creams. I do like YSL Touche Eclat a lot, and as long as I don't load it on, it looks really good. I think more concealer or a heavier application makes a tired eye or dark circles look more obvious. My old favorite was the pot concealer from Lorac. I have never seen it here. I agree ie surprised too about YSL. Recently got the Dior Skin Flash which is similar and I think even better. Have the same problem with Touché Éclat, no matter how little I use it always looks flakey. I previously used the Dior Flash and will go back to it.

I just checked it for you and the roll on that I bought is called Driclor solution http://www.boots.com/en/Driclor-Solution-Roll-On-Applicator_22023/ I had the sme problem as the OP. Driclor is the only thing that works for me. I use it at night and then Mitchum in the mornings.

I would definitely go to the police to ensure she not only gets sent home but also gets banned. She should not be allowed to work for anyone else. No matter how desperate her situation is, it doesn't justify her stealing. And who knows how much she has really stolen from you. Have you checked your jewellery and other items in the house? If you only have her sent back to the Philippines, she will be back in no time stealing from someone else. Agree completely, and the other ladies at Howdra also need to be aware that this behavior will not be tolerated. We had a similar incident with Explorer maids. We were the ones insisting on taking it to the police. We did go down to the police station with her and absolute proof of it but as soon as Explorers pro got involved she was let go and is still in Dubai with another family. I think it's admirable that Dave would get involved and take a zero tolerance attitude.

Day 6 thought her fever broke last night as she was sweating but this morning it is 38.8. She is also complaining of painful calf muscles and is refusing to walk. could it be from de-hydration? she has been drinking but perhaps not as much as usual. Nip, my child had same symptoms recently and diagnosis was post viral myositis. Perhaps look it up and see if the symptoms are similar? Gently squeeze your child's calves to see if she reacts that it is painful. If it is myositis It does need to be monitored and blood enzymes checked. Eta some of the info on the net can be a bit scary but just want to reassure you post viral is not at all serious and just needs to be treated with regular anti inflammatories and bed rest. edited by gemm3210 on 09/04/2012 edited by gemm3210 on 09/04/2012

Thanks suze63 for your reply. I was really happy with the initial results on the day after and expected gradual improvement but A week on it's about the same as the day after treatment. Apparently the maximum results are seen 14 days after treatment so we shall see! Eta I also had 12 injections but saw on the invoice 36 units. edited by gemm3210 on 04/04/2012

Suze and sima, Can I ask what areas you had treated and how many units? I had botox with dr Hoshy a week ago and although I can see a difference I am wondering about the number of units I had and the result. Thanks Ps mine was very surprisingly painless! edited by gemm3210 on 04/04/2012

Hi Xiana, I was put on oral antibiotics, sorry I can't recall the name now as it was a while ago. I was also given a few topical creams which I had to mix together and apply. I had rosacea mainly on my chin and Dr Nasir pointed out that it had nothing to do with any products I was using or anything else as other areas of my face which were fine. The exact cause of rosacea is not understood but it can be treated. After this what some would call "agressive treatment" with oral antiobiotics and topical creams, the rosacea has never reoccured. I have used a lot of different products on my face; I currently like the Boots Protect & Perfect range but I'm sure you are younger than me and don't need that yet:) Hi Xiana, I can also recommend Dr Nasir of Dermacare for this. Mine has also not returned although I do still and always will have some redness (not rosacea) and sensitive skin. He will explain as much as you ask or he will diagnose, treat and send you on your way so if you like to have discussions with your doctor be sure to go with questions in mind. For redness I have used Smashbox primer (green one) with average results but have also since found a Dior foundation that does cover the redness, called Dior Totale Capture, but Im sure I'm older than you so may not be ideal for you! Good luck!

Hi egg, Yes I've read a couple of stories about peoples having a bad experience with parrots from the shop on beach road. Sorry it happened to you :( I also called the shop you are talking about off SZ road and was told 4500dhs. Crazy price! Zimbomom, did you do the blood tests after you got your parrot or were the tests done by the owner? Also, I've read about a few of the diseases the vet should check for, do you know exactly what they test for at Nad al Sheba?

I agree with Starsouthern and Chocs01. Really? You think it is ok to deliberately expose people to a disease without telling them? You all are clearly living on a different ethical planet than I am! I have to agree, I really don't understand this idea of deliberately exposing a child or anyone for that matter to an illness.

SueR, just want to add to my original post. I feel that the Pajero is good value for the money you spend. It's only when you compare it to the Prado (or anything else in a similar price range) that the Pajero's shortfalls come to light. At the time we purchased the Pajero we set a budget and stuck to it and it was the best value for money available at the time. Also check out the prices of the new vehicles vs the one or two year old vehicles. It made absolutely no sense to buy a used vehicle as the finance interest rates on used vehicles was double that of a new one. I found that the dealers were not advertising special deals online or through the media. When you get to the showroom ask if they include insurance, maintenance, window tinting or even a discount on the price. I found a lot of they would offer something if you asked.

I've had both, brand new. I recently took delivery of the pajero and I'm sorry to say I am so disappointed. It may have a few more extras/bells and whistles than you get for your money with a Prado but you can feel the quality difference in a number of ways. The drive is bumpier, the road noise is louder, the engine is quite sluggish and don't even get me started on after-sales service (although we do not live in Dubai and did not buy it from Mitsubishi in Dubai). We bought it because it fit the budget and had good safety reviews, all the airbags you can fit in it and leather seats.... But at the end of the day there is a vast price difference between the Pajero and Prado for a reason.

Hi, We've had grass laid (paspalum) about 6 weeks ago and we have the contractor maintaining it but......a section, at 1/3 of it has become quite sparse and dark brown with the roots growing on top of the soil. Another section of it also appears to be dying, very dark brown and become sparse. We have called the contractors back several times and the first time it was worms killing the grass, which they treated about 4 weeks ago. So they are gone. Twice they've put "medicine" on the grass and are now saying my kids playing on it is killing the grass...well it's not my children as they don't pay on that area of the grass. We've held back money from the original installation contract and not paid their monthly maintenance fee. They are still maintaining it but every day I see it getting worse. Can you suggest anything to treat the lawn? Thank you

Same as below, 50 dhs to hairdresser and 10 dhs to hair washer. But I always feel uncomfortable with tipping the hairdresser with the feeling is it the done thing and is it enough?! Back home it was not the norm to tip the hairdresser /owner but definitely tip the assistant.

A friend and I were having this discussion a few days ago. I am all for providing sweets and cakes and treats on occasions of celebration. Friend on the other hand has 2 celiac children. Every time there is a birthday or some sort of celebration in class her very young children have to be told they cannot have any treats / cakes etc. IF she has been informed by a mum that something will be brought to class she can then send something homemade with her child that day. Unfortunately this does not happen all the time. Imagine your young child sitting in class and being the only child who cannot have a treat? I do know that she has emailed each mother in her children's classes and asked if she could be told the day before if they are sending something to school so that she can send something homemade with her children. Some might think that's a big thing to ask but honestly, I cannot get over the fact that some of these mothers couldn't be bothered. If it were my kids and parents couldn't be bothered I too would be in favour of a total ban.

Motilium or Primperan are alternatives to Valoid. The strongest Motilium Ive seen is 60mg (you get them from 10mg for infants upwards). Hope you feel better soon!

Hi, For the first time I've got a cuticle infection after a manicure. At first it was extremely tender, became swollen and then started throbbing with pain. After googling, I soaked finger in vinegar and applied bactroban and covered with a plaster for two days. This morning it's no longer throbbing and the tenderness is receding but I have a lovely pocket of pus between the nail and cuticle. So my question is do I need to see a doctor about the pus or do you think I should continue with the bactroban, will that take care of it? Thanks

I took my nearly 3 year old for a play date this week at her school friends apartment. There were 3 children at the playdate. The little girl who's parents were not at the play date called me to go with her, she wanted to show me something. She took me to the kitchen opened the screen door leading onto the balcony and was up the first two rungs of the balcony railing before I grabbed her down. The balcony has horizontal bars not vertical bars and the kitchen door was left open for fresh air!

My experience with elife is terrible and still on going. Sandy dog did warn before I subscribed but I never imagined it could be this bad! In nearly 3 months I've had 7 set-top boxes replaced (we have 2 television points). The lip-sync is out, there is a delay between the picture and audio, the remote control functions are delayed and often get stuck, on one of our remote controls there is no pause button, when you press play the box turns off and needs to reboot. With the upstairs box the screen-shot of another channel is stuck pasted over the channel we're watching. The downstairs box needs to be rebooted about 3 times a day in about 2 hours. We still can only record around 50% of the programs we set it to record. There is no option to record a series. You can imagine how many technicians have been around in the last 3 months and how much down time we've had in between all the set-top boxes being replaced. Also, not a single technician had been informed of the elife home plug product, which we ordered upon application for elife so of course they were never delivered and I had to go into etisalat myself to buy them but none of the technicians could install them. The list goes on. I would never recommend this product to anyone. We previously had Du and their set-top boxes are far superior with reliability, speed, functions/options and user-friendliness. edited by gemm3210 on 24/11/2011

Hi, Which one would you recommend? Have you experienced both and prefer one over the other? I've previously had vkool on one of our vehicles and was happy with it but we're getting another vehicle and the dealer can install 3m. It would be a lot easier to get the 3m done through them than having vkool done ourselves but we definitely want the better product. Thanks

If you are good friends and she knows how strongly you feel about this she should almost be expecting a comment from you! It's her choice if she continues to put her child in harms way or not, but at least you did raise the point and perhaps she will think twice the next time. It shouldn't ruin your friendship though. Say what you need to say and move on and know that in the future your children shouldn't travel in a vehicle alone with her. I had an incident where my son was going to a new friend's house for a play date and the kids asked if my son could drive with his friend. I followed behind in my car and very quickly realized neither of them were strapped in at all. I phoned the mom and asked her to put their seatbelts on and she replied that their apartment was just around the corner from the school. I said I'd prefer it if my son could drive with me instead, which he did. Today we are still good friends, my kids are strapped in and travel with me only and hers are still not wearing seat belts. No hard feelings either way.
