Hello, I'm looking to use aramex shop n ship service. Does anyone have any experience with it please ? Thanks I use it far too much :-( I don't buy any clothes in Dubai only online ( UK) and use S n S to ship it In 2 years no problems at all and I love the fact that you can track it and have it delivered to your workplace within a week. I have saved a fortune in clothes shopping And got some of us into so much trouble ;) But, yes it works really well Don't blame me GE haha I got a dress last week for 8 quid in the sale. Its 300 here. Best bargain so far ;-) I'm barred, till the New Yaar, although I did cheat and got a lovely pair of trousers from the UK and our friends are bringing them out at the weekend. He did only say I couldn't use shop n ship ;)

I recently went home and in the shops, restaurants, pubs etc they were all happy as larry and couldn't be more helpful. More than 2 people queuing a new till opens up, cant find something on the shelves they ring around for you , bar staff serving people in order, doors being held open for you, people helping my Sister and I carry a pram down steps the list was endless. It was joy to be there. omg - where is this parallel universe of which you speak ?? lol Chester Liverpool Manchester :-) Guess I need to move north then !! lol Definitely, and it gets better the further North you go ;)

That is of my main gripes here, women are supposed to be respected, but how many men and most of them young, ever give up their seats for you on the Metro. As for the driving, been back from two weeks hols and it seems so much worse than I remember :( I only got the bus twice and the old men waiting at the bus stop said "After you" it was so sweer. Thankfully our buses aren't busy in the morning however I am more likely to give up my seat Did you have a good time? We had a fab time thanks, just went over far too quickly. Hope you did too? :)

Hey, Geordie, polly, sarahlou, would you mind posting the names of your hairdressers? My fave one just returned to Australia so would appreciate a heads up - no pun intended! Essentials on Al Wasl. Meghan for cutting and Holly for colouring. Sorry, I'm not sure what colouring products they use, but I have no complaints.

I too have a couple of brilliant hairdressers here and the same back home. It has always taken me a while to settle with a new hairdresser though. What one person may hate about a hairdresser, another person may love, so if you're looking for a new hairdresser, it can be trial and error for the first few times.

If you can get to The Green Community, there is a lovely little picture framers next to Park n Shop. I think it's called Picasso. We've had a number of pictures framed there and been very pleased with them and the price :)

DCC and MoE has always been packed with obvious tourists, even before they were connected to the Metro. Not sure what these two malls offer that is not available in others, so I cant understand what makes them especially popular with tourists. Dubai Mall has lot of must-see attractions so that's understandable. Not sure about what DCC has to offer, but I would think for some, tourists espeically, the indoor ski slope in MoE would be a draw.

It was mainly confidentiality when it was explained to me, pretty much the same as you get in all PA roles. To be honest it didn't seem a lot different.

I had one a couple of years ago and it was pretty much the same as any PA interview. They had all my details and just asked the usual questions along with other specific to the role and the school policies on confidentially etc. They also asked if I would be prepared to muck in and help with others roles if necessary, such as reception.

Unfortunately not. If you have any friends going you could always ask if they would give you their wristband, if they don't want to see the concert. Highly illegal of course, but I've seen numerous people do this over the last few years.

If I was you I would turn your water off asap, as you will be liable for all that runs out. You will have to call a maintenance company yourself unless your LL has a contract with anyone. If he doesn't you could always try this guy http://musthavemaintenance.com/

[b'>Asado at The Palace [/b'>- is amazing, you sit so close to the fountains, you can actually get wet! Fab views and great steaks! For desert view, not 100% but you could head out to Al Maha Sorry to hijack, but I don't suppose Asado is in the Fine Diner book is it? It was last year, not 100% sure this year as we didn't get one :) Cheers, I'll have a look tonight before I book for DH and me.

I called this company today for my balconies. Rates were really reasonable, and hoping to get an appointment this week. Don't have feedback yet, but they seem very professional. http://www.thecleanteam.ae/window-cleaning/residential-services/ That's them. A few of us in JVT arranged for them to come and do a number of villas on the same day and they gave us a discount. Very professional and an excellent job :)

Same happened to my Mum only she was 60 at the time. One month nightmare the next nothing and I mean nothing, no hot sweats, nothing. They do say that it could very well happen to you at the same age as your mother. I only hope I'm the same, although feeling like I do now I very much doubt it :( edited by Geordie expat on 28/09/2014

Very true Beebers. Red is difficult to get to stick anywhere. If the OP lets us know what she is trying to achieve, perhaps we could help her a bit more. I am naturally red, but after being here for over two years, am almost blonde. I now have no choice but to go to a salon as I could not manage this colour on my own.
