Can anyone suggest someone for me please. I'm off for an MRI tomorrow as my current doctor says I have rotator/cuff problems and an impingement. He thinks that there could also be a spurr of bone catching the tendon!!! my colleague has a Slap Tear and rotator cuff problem which impinges on the tendon He had 2 detatched tendons which they cut out and screwed something He had the op with DR Harold and now with the physio Thanks a million, just what I wanted to hear - not :(

The Rocks is lovely, but it's also a very busy casino and in my opinion way overpriced! If the OP wants peace and quiet Bellapais or the panhandle is the place to be. Also I have just found the card for the driver who picks us up in Larnaca, so I can give you his number if you would like it.

Hi Geordie Expat, How did you like Dr Andreas? Hope you're feeling better :) Haven't seen anyone yet, just had the MRI and will get the results on Saturday. To be honest I may try and see Dr Njoomi then too as he is based at the same clinic. I will keep you informed though.

The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding is a great one, totally unique experience to anything else in Dubai! I can highly recommend the Iftar here. It was the first one we ever did during our first Ramadan here.

that bad? Did they give you pain killers? Maybe ask for some stronger ones... I'm taking the strongest ones I can without falling asleep, it's only certain movements that hurt or when I've slept for a while. I've got a list of exercises from the physio along with using an ice pack as often as I can. edited by Geordie expat on 03/07/2014

Worst case scenario will be surgery, which to be honest, right at this very moment I would let them carry out without any anaesthetic. Either that or I cut my arm off myself !!!

You definitely can't cross the border in a hire car now. We had to either walk or go with friends in their car.

If you want to stay in Bellapais try either of these two places www.bellapaisgardens.com. and www.bellaview.net Bear in mind if you want to get around you will need to hire a car, but it's reasonably cheap to do so and they drive on the left, same as the UK. If you want beaches, you're better off at the Famagusta area as they have gorgeous beaches and very quiet. The harbour in Girne (Kyrenia) is lovely to spend a few hours, just sitting people watching and relaxing. And of course, trying some Effes, if you are drinkers. Anything else fire away.

If you search on here, there are a number of threads on this topic, explaining why you can't use your UK licence once you are resident here and have a current driving licence. We use our UAE ones wherever we hire cars now.

No. If you're resident here you must use your UAE licence, or any insurance will be invalid.

Firstly, don't hold your breath! In all seriousness, a lot of it depends on what you do, or want to do. Get your LinkedIn profile up to date, contact as many recruitment agents and websites as you can. There are other on her who will be able to help you further, once you let us know what it is you're looking for.

I honestly don't think they could have taken Only Fools and Horses any further even if John Sullivan hadn't died. Mind I did like him in the one off episode of Open All Hours and love his Inspector Frost :)

We go twice a year, it's gorgeous and the locals are so friendly. We fly with Emirates direct to Larnaca and then arrange for a car company to pick us up and drive us over the border. You can't drive a hire car over the border. The drive takes about 40-45 mins but is easier than going via Turkey, directly into Ercan, as you have to spend around one hour on the ground there! Where you stay very much depends on what type of holiday you're looking for. If you have a look at what's available, or let me know what you'd like, I'll be more than happy to answer any questions.

The reason I asked is that the only time I have my phone in the bedroom is when DH is away and I always end up sleeping very badly then. I'm sure there is something in this.

I see Dr Andreas at Mediclinic Dubai Mall and I highly recommend him, he has a very nice manner about him and was spot on with his diagnosis of my flat foot, shoulder pain and minor scoliosis. He also did a chiropractic adjustment for me and was fantastic. That's where I'm off to in the morning for the MRI. Thanks.

who does your Dr recommend? Dr Nojoomi at Meadows Mediclinic. Quote from their website - Dr. Nojoomi is an Iranian board certified orthopaedic surgeon who graduated from the Iran University of Medical Sciences in 1998. He has worked in Dubai since 2004. He specialises in treating shoulder problems and prior to joining Mediclinic Middle East, he built up the shoulder unit within the orthopaedic department of Dubai Hospital. He trained in shoulder surgery under the eminent shoulder surgeon Dr. Dominique Gazielly in Dubai, Paris and Geneva. He regularly presents findings of shoulder studies in his patients at national and international medical conferences. It would just be nice to speak to someone who has dealt with a specific surgeon, as if I'm going to have to have surgery I'd prefer it to be done by a doctor someone else has used. edited by Geordie expat on 01/07/2014

But when you have guests coming for dinner, do you not cook them food you love? Why would you cook someone something to eat that you wont eat? Why would i cook you tripe when i wont eat it? I wouldn't expect you to and same goes for here. I wouldn't offer you h*m and pease pudding stotties ;)

It can depend on your guests I think. I had a friend who was a very strict vegan, no leather that sort of thing and she wouldn't cook anything else on principal, which I totally agreed with. It did sometimes make her unpopular when, if she invited friends of her friends, they couldn't/wouldn't eat what she had prepared. I think some people will just cook what they eat and sometimes keep something else on standby. I suppose there are people in this world who aren't even prepared to give veggie food a try.

if you're near The Green Community, Park n Shop there isn't too bad on price and the quality is fab. Also there is a small C4 which has good fruit and veg, but the meat selection isn't that big, although the guy there will do what he can to help.

To get someone like that you'd have to go through an agency, that's if they do those hours. And AED35 an hour is the going rate.
