As Izzy says I can't see them coming up with a reaslistic eviction notice. If I was you I would just contact them in writing and tell them you are going to RERA as what they are trying to do is illegal. You are within the 90 days, so should in effect be on exactly the same terms and conditions as your current contract. Definitley don't be badgered into signing a non-renewable. They are illegal but I have heard that some have been recognised by RERA.

Izzy our two cope fine on their own from 8 in the morning till around half six at night, three days a week. The other two they go to day care.

We eventually received our contract last night over a month late. It took weeks of emails to one of the LL employees sent twice a day and eventually when we received the same, wrong contract, for the umpteenth time we just sent an email saying that we would lodge our cheques with RERA. That seemed to do the trick :)

Most people I know have gone either because the LL is trying to put the rent up by too much, even before the 90 day mark. Or they have been given a new contract with different T&Cs well within the 90 days and the wrong increase. You really do need to go and make enquiries with them, but remember your LL may have copies of the email where you accepted the 20% increase, which as you say is in line with the calculator. Added to say some won and unfortunately some lost. <em>edited by Geordie expat on 17/06/2014</em>

so about 300 aed per dog per day? Sorry that was my fault :( I gave you the monthly fee we pay For two days a week it's 640 a month, but if you do a monthly block booking there's normally a freebie with it. i thnk 5 times a week would be a bit expensive ... Our two go to Positive Paws twice a week (the days the cleaner comes) and it costs, I think, AED1280. They also go there for boarding when we're away.

Ours get walked either early morning or late at night. If I can stand on the ground in bare feet, it's fine. When they're in the house all day they have AC on. To be honest the Jack Russell is bothered by the heat (I think), cause when he's let out during the day, he sometimes doesn't even go. He also sleeps a lot more during summer. Haven't a clue how he holds on so long. The Cyprus Terrier on the other hand has to be physically dragged in as she loves laying out in the sun. Must be the fact she was born and brought up in a different climate.

why not get it here? there was a sale on recently..... I think the sales online are cheaper than in Dubai I'm beginning to wonder about that. I think I'll have a look this weekend if the sales still on and do a comparison. I bought a couple of bikinis when I was home and they were cheaper in the sales there than here. The bikini fell apart though which peed me off. They are mainly cheaper back in the UK than here, but VS in the states doesn't seem to have the same offers as previously.

I think you may be held to the increase, but you'll never know for sure unless you try the rent committe. I would try to get away with no change if you can to start with.

If all this happened within the 90 days, I would say that it's worth a trip to RERA, even if just for advice. As you say you're happy to pay the increase, just not the one cheque. Is the increasse in line with the RERA calculator? He's probably just miffed that you're not paying the increase he wanted.

Sorry I've thought about this a lot since I read it and feel that, yes you have to take your family into consideration, but you also need to think of yourself in the long term. Your children will not be at home forever, and what will happen if you stay in what could become a loveless marriage once they've flown the nest. If I was you I would sit down with myself and try and find out exactly what you want. Then yes discuss with your DH what he wants out of the marriage. Would you be able to support yourself and the children if you did separate? Finally you definitely need to talk to the other man and find out what he wants from you and your relationship, if there is going to be one. This is a very hard decision to make, but all I will say is that I made this decision when my girls were 5 and 7. Not for exactly the same reasons, but it was thr best one I ever made. I just couldn't envisgae being in a relationship that didn't mean as much to the other person, once we were on our own. And I do know from some of my friends that it is very hard to leave a relationship like that after a good number of years and you can be quite scared of the consequences of being on your own.

The only thing I can add is that propertyfinder.ae is way better than dubizzle. Don't forget you'll need deposits for the apartment, and DEWA. I really need to start watching more TV ;) You have lots of pets and a DH . There is only me to look after ha :-) Tell me about it. Last week was a breeze. Watched loads of old Greys Anatomy episodes, walked the dogs late and to cap it all I lost over 2lbs :) I love Greys, I am going to start Desperate Housewives again too I enjoyed that, but don't think I could sit through it again

18 k gold today is approx. 114 dhs/gram. Factor around 2 grams for the pendant + the making price, maybe 200 dhs, that leads to no less than 400 dhs, if you don't need the chain. I think it all depends on who you deal with their. I paid AED100 each for two silver ones and it was definitely no more than AED200 for a gold one. Mind it was only 5 letters. <em>edited by Geordie expat on 16/06/2014</em>

Speak to Denise at The Housekeeping Co. I have had their service for a couple of years, my lady is pleasant, well trained & hard working. 800 57827 they also have a Facebook page which has great tips on it for stain removing etc [url=https://www.facebook.com/housekeepingcompany'>link[/url'> I was thoroughly unimpressed with them... for 45 aed an hour i expected a lot more than what i got.... found them slow and rude. I've also heard some stories about the conditions her staff live in.
