And then having a happy evening ;) Yep - the willpower to use the bottle as a rolling pin and not open it yet! Yeh - I suppose an empty, or half empty bottle wouldn't work as well

I just read about a great new centre opening in Al Quoz next Wednesday. It is a huge indoor trampolining/bounce park. they have a website www.bounce.ae. and a Facebook page. The concept has been brought here from Australia. They have different sessions for different age groups. You need to book on-line. 70-80 dhs an hour. A great way for kids to have fun and get fit! I met with the owner last year. It looks like a fab place to go and I will pop down there at some point :-) Sarahlou she said kids ;) He said it is for all ages including purple rinses! ;-) This could be fun then :)

I wish I could say just give a stupid answer back, but it would depend on the person asking the question. What I normally do is give a very slow and very explained answer. Then go away and scream somewhere ;)

Definitely yes. I'm happier being in control than sitting in a car with someone else driving. Also, although the Metro is clean it is sooooo slow.

Can I just add from the bikini wearing side, that I wore one on holiday for the first time in I don't know how many years last week. I felt amazing :) Just go and do it, to be honest most people will be so absorbed in what they are doing that you won't even get a second glance. Enjoy the time with your family.

Assuming it will be mostly brits there - otherwise it would be us vs them! Any non-brits who've wandered in by mistake will be so bemused! Especially when they can't understand a word he says ;)

And on top of all this I actually saw someone post a photo of their female dog on a facebook group asking for a male dog to mate with her because she wants to make "cute" puppies ... I now DT, it's never ending! It seems to be worse than ever, streams of puppies in pet shops, puppies every where! Responsible pet ownership seems to be very rare these days. But they got very indignant when met with a negative response and can you believe she said she works as a foster volunteer at one of the dog charities !! One who breeds because they want to make *cute* anything perhaps needs something? Yes a shrink!!!

Answer from John Bishop's Office via his fb page. Doors open 7pm, show starts at 9pm, finishes approx 11pm. Sorry we were awaiting confirmation from the venue. I got a mail on FB from Done who also said 9pm Yep 9pm start. Makes life much easier :) It does, let's see how many people will be saving seats for their mates who are allegedly at the bar lol That'll make life fun. Is there any parking down there?

Don't know if this is the answer you want, but I normally go to Geant at Ibn Battuta and see what looks the nicest and the best value. Often pay more for a lovely piece of fish, but then make up for it when there are offers on :)

Never felt a thing on the Metro, but it was going verrrrrrrrry slow and they kept trying to make announcements, which no one could hear.

I'm not getting involved, as I know what I would do. But why post in the first place then, as you always knew it was a very sensitive subject, especially since there are so many dogs looking for homes right now. Personally I would have just sat on my hands. edited by Geordie expat on 27/05/2014

Why not get a tandem and go out on the cycle track near Nad al sheba.... Bikram bikes anyone? Too much like hard work. I'd rather do it in my own home where no one else can see me and I can fall off in peace, when I've had enough :)

I never like using the CC at the petrol station because you have to give your PIN number to the attendant, at least at the one I use they don't let you work the machine yourself. No way am I going to do that. Are you using a debit card instead of a cc? Sorry, not sure if some special cc are required to use PIN for transaction, but all the ccs we have (from 3 different countries), we never have to have PINs for them, only swipe and sign. I use cc at Adnoc all the time, and never have to give them PIN though. Our new cc out here now has a PIN

I wonder if this means DEWA will stop charging 2% on bill payments made by credit card too. Not holding my breath on that one! Do they? Yes, They did the last time I used a credit card to pay my bill. I've just always paid by CC via my phone and never been charged extra. Strange!! I paid in person and it was written on the wall over the payment counter that there is a 2% fee for CC payments, maybe over the phone is different. Thanks for the warning. Think I'll stick with phone or online then :)

With the first company DH worked for they paid his rent allowance directly to the LL and we paid the difference ourselves. One word of warning, when he was "let go" after six months, we got no salary for his final month and a bill for what they had already paid. Just be aware incase this happens. Much prefer it now as his alllowance, for what it is, is paid with his salary.
