Well i'm with AA on this and not going to let two posters with hardly any posts to their name and one with 30 odd posts dictate ow the forum should run. That is the job of the administration. The changes are refreshing and innovative. I'd prefer to be helpful, ad some humour then be a miserable troll. If admin weren't happy, would any of us be here today, using these names ;) edited by Geordie expat on 17/04/2014 Dont give them ideas or you will have splinters in your bum before you can say nuahgty chair Didn't there used to be a member called Geordie expat, whatever happened to her?? ;) :) :) :)

Personally I think the biggest change is the fact you can't discuss current affairs. It makes the board look like a bored housewives playground if you can't discuss what's going on in the world. I agree with this :) Totally agree as there are only so many different questions you can ask and advice that can be given. And yes some is way out of date, but it's easy to bring that back up to date.

l would say you definitely have a case, but suggest you ask the LL to file it. Just say you've taken advice and are not leaving. The notice needs to be via notary public or registered mail and it MUST state one of the four reasons for eveiction. Family use and proof they have nowhere else to live. Selling Demolition and I think the other one is alterations (or something like that) and they must prove that the house will be uninhabitable while it's going on major maintenance is the final one, if the house is unhabitable [b'>An email stating notice will suffice now as several people I know queried this with the RC and they said it is fine as did judges at RC[/b'> That's very interesting as everyone I have spoken to has said that it must be notary public or registered mail. Thanks for the info. edited by Geordie expat on 17/04/2014 If my memory serves me correctly someone on here went to the RC and the judges accepted a email. I am giving mine verbally as 12 months is enough and it is their apartment. I know its expensive moving etc but 12 months is sufficient Yes, I suppose at least you know what's going to happen in 12 months time and hey the bubble may burst by then ;) It's just the LLs who think they can get away with underhand methods that really get my back up.

I think you've got to pay three months rent, but if you check your contract it should tell you. I do believe some LLs will allow you to find another tenant for them, although is these days of higher rents they'll probaly prefer the extra cash they think they'll get by reletting it themselves.

Guilty! Absolutely some threads are inane chatter but they are easy to avoid. If someone is asking for information or help they normally get that. I sometimes indulge in pointless chat but I also give information or advice when it is asked for - as do the other ladies who also chat. If the board was restricted to purely information only, no digressions or friendly asides allowed it would very very slow on here. Me too, but it does lighten the day and yes majority of us do give advice as and when we can.

Yes, but haven't we all got one pair of shoes which are like slippers when you put them on. And for the amount of walking and standing around she does, I bet they come out on top every time.

If we were very cheeky or swore as kids My Mum would say Persil Soap Fairy Liquid Pick your poison. Needless to say we never swore or were cheeky! Me too, and I got the odd whack on the backside! My parents were strict but fair and loving and I wouldn't have dared give my dad any lip! Mine too. Mind I once used the F word in front of my Dad by mistake and got a clip. I was over 18 at the time too. Never used the F word even to this day however called my Sister a stupid moo and was grounded and had my mouth washed out. My Mum wouldn't ever tolerate back chat or swearing. Manners cost nothing was her favourite saying and my Sisters have brought their children up exactly the same. Yep mine was a total accident and have only ever used it once since and that was here. The first time I saw the Burj Khalifa two years ago. DH clipped me then too.

When I got married, the first time, my then MIL wanted some of her closest friends there, who we knew but not very well. Our compromise was that she paid towards the evening reception so she could have them there. Saved on our budget and everyone was happy.

what animals do you have? there are lots of pet sitters who can come twice a day but that would proabbly work out expensive and if you have dogs, they can be a lot more needy than cats... No they have to live in, visiting twice a day is not reliable enough. What you doing in July? lol PS Internet access will be provided! You mean you'd trust her with your internet. She'd never be off it ;)

Hate to say this but we have no problems with HSBC here, mainly because we havn't been into a branch for well over six months. We do everything on line, as it is very secure and any issues we have are dealt with by relationship managers either back in the UK or Jersey. You must be a very lucky lady as i think you must be the only satisfied customer here. Yes and I've probably started something now that will go downhill rapidly you jinxed it If I have I can always blame you ;)
