GE you (and i) may still feel like a teenager but let's face it we aren't - we cannot function on 3 hours sleep, can't eat the contents of the fridge and pantry and still fit into our size 10 jeans, can't party until 5 am, have a shower and go to work, cant' pull all nighters to cram for a test, cant run up and down 10 flights of stairs etc .... Yes, all well and good that we feel great in our grey haired heads but the fact is we are middle aged. It is what it is. **********YOU Can't do these things??**************** i went out for thai last night and [b'>put on a kilo[/b'> ankles hurt if i run up and down stairs (arthritis a middle aged disease) lucky if i can stay awake past 10 pm haven't drunk for years but last time i got drunk i mearged with the sofa for days I can however run half marathons which i couldn't when i was a teenager....... edited by IzzyOnTheSeat on 16/04/2014 So that's where the kilo I've lost since our visitors left, has gone ;) Please - come take it back. Sorry not a chance. Got about one and half more to go, then I need to stick at that weight - somehow !!!!!

OK then, age is very relevant in certain situations, and you know I've been through that here Izzy. I just hate being compartmentalised because I'm over a certain age. In other ways I don't think I've changed that much and majority of the time I'm still up for a night out with the best of them, only don't expect to see me for a couple of days after ;) Yes age IS a number, but I still think it's how you feel and act that counts. Leson over for the day :)

I know it's an old saying but "age IS just a number". Most of the time I still don't feel even middle aged, never mind old. Unless you lot remind me of it ;)

She rejects the idea that her parenting style is lazy. I think her parenting is lazy and here is a great place to witness the results of parents who never say no. Of course she does, she reckons it's the right way to go so they can make their own minds up. If that's not the lazy way I don't know what it, apart from seeing it in practice out here.

I completely agree with you on this Redrec Tangle.... Old is 40 is 40 not middle aged? 55+ old? Can some one please thumb this down for me at least 55 times :)

logically it would be posters with more stars, but does anyone really care, it's all quite farcical anyway. I'm now thumbing everyone, well nearly lol So you're on a mission to give everyone five stars? Then they will need to zero it out and start again to make it have any purpose :) And what exactly does 5 stars mean? Really one has to be careful not to take this all too seriously. What on earth do you mean? It is the reason to get up in the morning..... Today i will achieve myfifth star!!! Then no one will speak to you, you'll most probably get barred and have to start all over again ;) ;)

An upside down pineapple in your trolley either means you're a swinger laying an invite or an EW poster… Or both... Well I never knew that. I'll be more careful with my pineapples from now on. Any other grocery items that I need to be aware of? I thought it was Tide Washing powder outside the front door? Was that not an old Army thing and I thought it was Tide or Daz in the kitchen window :) OMO on the window sill (Old Man Out) lol Thanks I knew it was some sort of washing powder :)

I agree with this too. Sorry, but why should you expect to get something for nothing when you haven't paid into the system, for any length of time. We told our GP when we left what we were doing and he said he would keep us on his books as we still have a house in the local area, although we would only be able to use him for minor problems if needed when we are back. Anything major would have to be paid for as we are now classed as non resident. And it doesn't matter how much or how long you've paid into the system. edited by Geordie expat on 15/04/2014

So who is still on their first username and for how long? I am. About 5 years I think, it's testament to my utter boringness. I am too, about 2,5 years. Am guilty of participating in "nonsense threads" every now and then, but apparently not bitchy or provocative enough. Changed from my first one, as I caused my first or second thread to be deleted !!! I had only asked about the best place to buy furniture and when I came back a day later poof it had all gone ;)

Yes our Bengal is very gorgeous, but not very bright at times. The other two are just rescue mogs we've had since '06 and typical cats, eat, sleep and have the odd scrap. We don't really allow any of them out when we're not at home so it's evenings and weekend only. Although I am getting a little better about going away for a while and leaving them on a weekend.

We had one of those Sure Flap ones back in the UK which read their microchips. Saved us having the neighbours cats come and visit. I don't think I'd like the cats to have the freedom here that they had back there, especially the Bengal, who's gorgeous but........ edited by Geordie expat on 15/04/2014

Spoilt cats :) One of ours wouldn't come in last night, turned up at the door this morning and gave me a look as if to say "I've been sitting here for ages, why didn't you come and let me in" Yes well he had his chance before bed so tough !!!

All I would suggest is have a drive around. You'll get a good idea of the number of planes and where they pass over. Also you'll probably see a number of 'for rent' signs hanging outside villas and it's often easier to ring the LLs directly.
