I dont have that at the bottom of any posts :-( Depends on what you're using as your browser. I don't with the version of ie I use, but I do with google. …Izzy You say you don’t have children, work full time but you are always bored and spend lots of time on the forum,... and you have some mean comments. WHO ARE YOU? lol! how do you get work done?? have you worked full time here? it can be tedious how much time you have free if you are a fast/organised worker... In total agreement with that :)

well i managed a 10 km run yesterday afternoon.... it was a little warm to be honest, actually a complete sweat fest :\: I had the ability on my laptop, you would get a big thumbs up for that. Anyone who is brave enough (or daft enough) to run in this heat has my admiration

oh i do like that place..... outside and Aced... how Dubai.... I indulged in two cans of near beer..... :( Now that was bad. I'm on one coffee a day, then black tea or water, it's the only way I can help keep the calories down

The diet started today.... how's it going? Having a very light lunch and then nothing until tomorrow morning, so putting lunch off until as late as possible before 6pm. We ended up at Khan Murjan last night on the way to the airport. Lovely, but I really shouldn't have.

Not sure but I think they may have to start from scratch with the rabies. Blood tests and so on. We were advised that it isn't too bad if the regular ones are slightly late, but the rabies can't even be a day late! Never understood this as in most other countries a rabies vac lasts for two years. Best bet ring the local vet and check. <em>edited by Geordie expat on 13/04/2014</em>

did i not suggest this a few months ago? turn ac off too - so its like sleeping in a sauna...... Yes and it worked fine, so we'll be starving again. I want to loose weight not suffocate, it's already getting too hot ;)

Mr GE has decided that we'll do salads for lunch starting tomorrow and then nothing at night. Do our usual exercise and that's it, no food at all :(

you can always order salad...... I love running, especailly if i am in a bad mood.... which i am Sick of salad too. I just have to stop eating this week. I don't miss running one little bit now, and with that remark I'll quit if you're in a bad mood ;)

Put on 2 kilos since they arrived, loved having visitors, but can't wait till tomorrow when we can stop eating. Wish I could run, but the knees are shot, walking is all I can manage now.

you just can't get the staff these days!!! Cheek ;) We will at some point in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for the Bateaux Dubai info. It was fantastic and the food was out of this world :) Diet starts again tomorrow :(

i park near Central Bank / HSBC oin bur dubai near the creek and get an abra across. This was by far the best option when we went last week. I wouldn't have liked to try and park anywhere near the souk

Never had a problem with the recruiters I dealt with here. They have all been good with feedback, even if they have had to admit that the client is not very forthcoming. One thing I would suggest to try and get some UAE experience is, if you're after clerical / admin type of work and are on some one else's sponsorship, be available for temp work. I did quite a bit till I managed to get a permanent role and it did take me 18 months to eventually get there.

Kcal do delivery and it's all healthy stuff with all the nutritional info included in their on-line menu. Just had a Kcal lunch today - Mmmmmmmmmmmmm :) I really wanted to like them, but find their meals bland :-( I had their 29dhm special, a wrap and a shake it was fine. Also both DH and I have tried their weekly menus and the only thing we couldn't get on with was the Pasta Free Lasagne. Everything else was great. <em>edited by Geordie expat on 10/04/2014</em>

Depends on how far you're prepared to travel, but there's a great new place opened by Park n Shop at The Green Community. It's called Picasso, their choice of frames is great, fantastic service and the end result is fab. Very reasonable cost too.

GE, does this sound like the same person:- - can you get me the timetable of shuttle buses at Heathrow airport - they are every 3 minutes - yes, I need the time table *snort/guffaw/pick me up off the floor* Very definitely. I bet we could swap some stories :)

i just get it all coming through to BB so its not like i can really have a day off anyway No way will I do that. They get plenty out of me when I'm here. my boss calls me when i am on leave - his excuse is that he doesn't want me to get lonely :D Been there, done that, even to the times when he was in the States and rang me in the middle of the night 'cause he'd missed his train !!!!! i have this ongoing "discussion" with boss on time he needs to be at the airport - Arab v British time..... Mine expected me to get out of bed and either get on line to sort him another train or ring them and arrange it. Errrr you're actually in the station now, just go and ask. He was only getting a train because the previous day when he flew internally he had ignored mine and everyone elses advice to leave his case unlocked and of course it was opened by customs and he wasn't a happy bunny. <em>edited by Geordie expat on 10/04/2014</em>
