I just went to the Ejari website and it says this: Who can register with Ejari? Anyone who belongs to the following category can register for Ejari Accounts. 1. Landlords 2. Property management company and its employees 3. Landlord representative I am none of those so I don't think I can access the website to register the lease contract. Or am I missing something? Try the site Sarahlou suggested. Much easier :)

Slightly off thread but where does it say in the real estate laws about the 48 hours notice? Thanks I don't know if there is anything in the laws about this. But I know of a couple of people who have agreed to this. It may just have been to keep their LLs sweet. Or as someone else said I believe some have it written into their contracts. edited by Geordie expat on 17/02/2014

I believe you just need the Ejari for sponsorship purposes. Another question on this. How long must the contract have left to run when registering it? In other words can you do it with only 3 months left to go?

Moi I had a chat with someone I know in Dubai who is the GM of a developer He said it is a very grey area with regards to inspections There is a lady who comments on the real estate laws here and maybe she can help His understanding is that a LL can only ask to enter a property with very good reasons ( I know that doesn't help you at all) Try emailing [email protected] TIA I had read some information on bouncing cheques which isn't what you are going through however it clearly states on this link that a LL cannot enter premises without a police or court order! I have a feeling that this is one of those situations where the law is totally on the tenants side. If they don't agree to a 48 hour notice visit, you need to get police help. That said, if a tenant has nothing to hide, why say no. Which unfortunately for the OP doesn't appear to be the case

try and taste the food as you go and adjust seasoning / spices as you think. And remember, we have all had disastors. And some still do. Don't be too hard on yourself and keep it simple to start with.

There's one in DIFC, but for the life of me can't remember the name. Sorry I've heard of two in DIFC... one is Bespoke and the other is Ascots & Chapels... my DH got 5 shirts custom made for him at Ascots & Chapels and they've turned out lovely... and if I remember correctly cost him just 1000dhs... not sure about the quality/prices at the other place (Bespoke) but they were recently featured in the Friday magazine Thanks. Just rememebred Bespoke and had totally forgotten about Ascots and Chapels. Must be because I keep on dragging DH away from them both ;)

The RC have told a few people I know that if you sign a non-renewable then it is legally binding. The onus is on the tenant to refuse to sign one.

Sorry can't help with the name of anyone, but the IT guy in DH company suggested that the best bet would be to replace the router with a Wireless-N, making sure it's compatible with whichever service you have. Or, buying another router for downstairs and running the two together.

Never had any issues with the H*** bank at all, apart from the usual ones out here with local staff, but that said we try not to go into a branch unless desperate. Great Premier service with all three sets of accounts online, no problems transferring money anywhere.

We recently moved in Jumeirah village triangle, can someone suggest on the following topics: 1.Economical and good quality garage door installing companies, 2.Good and efficient intercom for the gate and home, 3.Contractors (reliable, not extremely expensive, and time efficient) for villa extension, Have you joined the JVT facebook page? There's loads of advice and names of contractors on there. Just ignore the bickering ;)

Hi gordie expat. The notice was served via registered Australian post to his work place. This was his only address with a PO box. Because I am not in Dubai I was unable to serve the notice via the notary. I would check this carefully with the RC. Fingers crossed it's ok, but you definitely need to check.

How was the notice served? Was it done legally and not just by email? As he can use that against you unfortunately. I also thought it would run at the same time of the lease too I am being given 12 months when my current lease expires in May 2013 The OP says his lease is up in July and yet he is due to move out in October? I thought that too, but I have heard of people having different dates. Don't see how that actually works though, unless the OP has done it for a reason. Someone did tell me though that this can't happen, so I'll pass on the correct answer. edited by Geordie expat on 16/02/2014 RC told me from end of lease and that is what my LL is going by I have had people viewing for the last 2 weeks and 5 people through the apartment yesterday! That was what I had heard too, which was why I queried the way the notice had been served?

Cats can be really awkward when they're not well. Is she eating anything at all, 'cause if she is try and persuade her to have wet cat food as she will get some liquid from that. Did the vet say anything about her being dehydrated? Apart from that all I can suggest is to watch her carefully and if you're at all concerned straight back to the vets.

Tickets to the dolphin show, which we didn't use and about 20 free cups of Costa. I have never won a competition ever! the vouchers are for books and I have Kindle however I am sure I will be able to spend them :-) Thanks for the call yesterday it was very kind of you I won tickets on here once to see Allessandro somebody or other, he was actually quite good and the audience were much better behaved than I was expecting, in terms of phones etc!! No problem, just glad you found what you wanted :) How did the baking go? edited by Geordie expat on 16/02/2014

Both my DDs clothes were just washed in the same product I had always used and nearly 30 years later they're both fine. Never had a problem. Unless your new born has a skin problem, majority of the stuff you see and read is marketing hype on behalf of the manufacturers. It's not that I disagree with your statement Geordie expat, to each their own I suppose, but I always find similar type statements misplaced; it's like my mom saying "we didn't have car seats when you were babies and you survived". This is an extreme example but I do believe it's a bit misleading to raise the "30 years ago" card to new mums; though several products exist today that may not be necessary and could be attributed to good marketing, there are many that do respond to a need and they probably do help keep our young kids safer and healthier:-) I can see where you're coming from, but do you not think that some of the newer generations have more wrong with them because they are so wrapped up in cotton wool. And yes I know a lot of you will shout me down on that one. I worked for a large soap powder manufacturer a number of years ago and even they admitted that the enzyme free products were made purely as advertising to get young mums to buy it and then it continued on into the next generation. This was just my experience and I have passed it on to both my DDs

Carrefour has just opened in Motor City, in one of the buildings between MC and Sports City. It isn't large and also not cheap either. It seems C4 change their prices according to their location within the UAE. The price match Spinneys on most of their lines. Given the choice, I'd shop at Spinneys any day of the week. If you want a C4 hypermarket, then your nearest would be MoE or Mirdiff. There's also a half decent one in MCC

I am just saying that that SL knows everyone snd everyone it seems - not a mean post but something incredibly annoying to read every five minutes. edited by SJ1968 on 12/02/2014 what is being discussed on this forum are every day things all women go through. So not a surprise SarahLou has been through them or knows people that have been through similar experiences. So basically your annoyance is basically that she has a good network of friends and therefore can share a lot more information. Interesting. **LIKE** SJ1968, your comment was smacked of jealousy rather than anything else. edited by mrsb. on 13/02/2014 I agree and know SarahLou will not take offence when I say the older you get the wiser you become and the more you have lived through things.
