Every concert I have been to there is standing and I doubt you could sit on the grass without getting trampled on or even be able to see Everyone will be dancing I imagine And I was going to take my fold up cushions to sit on. You know people of my age can't hack standing all night, never mind dancing ;) I remember going to see Jools Holland in Delamere Forest years ago There were so many people sitting down with picnic blankets eating scotch eggs and full on picnics Needless to say when he started with his boogie woogie playing they were all nearly trampled on. The last time I stood at a concert was in the 80's. So I may get a little squished at this one. Could job it's not on a work night

It was just a thought as although ours sleep all day, I would much rather they were with people most of the time, you never know what can happen. And that was just one out of a number of kennels. Majority are wonderful <em>edited by Geordie expat on 23/01/2014</em>

Hiya would someone be able to help..Wehave to go away for a week urgently and do not want to leave our dog in a kennel .Would someone be able to help with a contact of a private pet sitter we are looking for someone to come home and check on our dog feed him and walk him once. Please give me some idea about the rates for a private pet sitter .Thanks much x Would you not rather your dog was somewhere like Positive Paws for the week and not on his own for a week?

Until weekend.... Anyone have any fun plans... Apart from Marathon and a trip to the central souq in sharjah am chilling out this weekend... I am off to see Texas tonight, maybe some sun tomorrow and cleaning the oven ( Sheer joy) Have a good one :-) Cheers ladies, have fun :) Dragging DH round the shops for a DJ or something suitable :(

Fun....... alternatively put him on the treadmill and a diet... We were starting the 5:2 on Sunday, but this has just come out of the blue and unless I starve him, he won't be ready in a week.

There are some wedding shops in the baby malls in jumierah (Jumieraiah centre, Jumearih plaza etc) that hire out Djs. Thanks I'll drag him around them over the weekend. :(

Sorry need to resurrect a really old thread :( DH and I have been invited to a Black Tie event and of course after being here for two years, his current suit doesn't fit. Can someone please advise where we can go to preferably hire, or if not buy one. Thanks

Lets ban caesareans while we are at it too (facepalm) Well actually, you do need a doctor for a caesarean and all they are saying is you need a doctor to prescribe you formula. I think it's a good idea - I wish a doctor could have advised me when I gave up nursing my first son after just a couple of months. It would get women the help with nursing that they don't get now. I agree that by putting formulas on prescription women who truly cannot bf won't be affected. and those who just choose not to due to vanity will have to. but not sure how it would work here for a working mum. New mums have an hour less in their working days for breastfeeding - ithink it goes up to the child is 18 months This is the point - they'd have to adjust that. I think making nursing a priority of the country is a great step forward. I know in theory this is a lovely idea and something majority of mums would love to be able to do. As a number of you have said though, what will happen to working mums, are companies going to be compensated for the time you would need off for two years?? I very much doubt it. I was very lucky in that I had nine months off with my first DD, three unpaid and the rest a mixture of maternity leave and saved holidays, but that was nearly 30 years ago. I honestly don't know how I would have coped if I'd tried to carry on for two years.

It's like saying that smoking cigarettes is illegal yet still selling cigarettes all over the place. I am just trying to apply logic to the argument. Wet nursing was also more popular in some cultures / societies... Now there is a choice, which every mother should have. Very true on both counts, but....... wouldn't it be better to try and encourage and police child safety, as in car seats and leave the emotive subject of BF up to the individuals concerned.

I found it so much easier to drink on the two fast days and try not to eat at all. I did occasionally have a square of chocolate with my morning coffee/afternoon tea, which seemed to satisfy my craving for something sweet.

Errrr?! No! Just ignore the friend and have no contacts with this two faced so called friend. Perhaps the friend is trying to be a grown up and not get involved in a third party marital drama? It can happen. Well in case of doubt, chuke it out. If the op have her doubts regard the friend, then better to not to in contact with her and stop the kids knowing each other. Better safe than being sorry. Please OP meant your friend NOT you. Sorry but that is really unfair on the kids. Better to explain that talking about the ex is off limits, then it's up to the other person what she wants to do.

I thought renowned companies send regret mails if not selected. Like Emirates did in a week or two. Not always and it can sometimes take weeks if they do bother, so don't sit waiting, keep on looking. <em>edited by Geordie expat on 21/01/2014</em>

The parking is this area is so inadequate it's absurd. I can't count the number of times I've attempted to do my shopping after work only to give up after 45 minutes of circling and go home and order a takeaway. This is why Spinneys have an undercover car park…. The undercover parking is hot, smelly, cramped, and more often than not, hard to find a space in as well. Exactly. I usually can't get anywhere near the undercover car park after work. Hopeless. I didn't even know there was one !

i had to different people contact me about jobs via linkedden - am not actually looking at the moment but you should update your profile. lzzyOnTheSeat, I had a skype interview two weeks back and I reckon they contacted me seeing my Linkedin profile. But since then I have not hear from them. I did write to check in yesterday, No reply still though. :( Writing's no good you've got to call. And yes it is tedious, but if you really want to work that's the way to start. hmmm maybe I'll wait for a week more and make a call. Geordie expat do you have any idea on time period reputed companies take normally to screen applicants for the initial face to face interview after the tele call. I asked the same question to sarahlou123 also. I really want to know this. Hate to say this, but if I've had a telephone interview and haven't heard within a week I've always called them and it's been bad news. Same goes for direct applications I always follow up with a telephone call after a week to 10 days. Sarahlou will know better than me, but if you haven't heard by now they've probably given the job to someone else. Most companies out here tend not to let you know if you've been unsuccessful unless you call them.

Not bad, I looked for the first week in June, still over 4,000. BA are still cheaper for Easter and June! Never flying EK again at this rate! I cant get to Manchester for less than 4k Even if I go to London first and catch another flight Oop North it is still more expensive than EK direct to Manchester :-( One of the reasons we can't go home very often :( It often works out cheaper to meet somewhere in the middle.

It's also a very common side effect when using epilators :( As i said, i dont think its due to epilator, because I have JUST switched. Its just due to ignoring them over a prolonged period of time... Even just short time use of an epilator can make them worse and encourage more.
