With all the great advice you've been given, I'm sure you will be fine. The key is to make yourself as comfortable as possible on the flight. Take some nice socks, a jumper or cardigan, a soft scarf and a neck pillow so you can be snug in your seat. Do you have a favorite scent that makes you feel good when you smell it? Perhaps you could treat yourself to a nice temple balm or moisturizer to apply during the flight. The scent will relax and distract you. Load up your iPod with your favourite tunes, take a great book and use the inflight entertainment system to catch up movies or watch an old favorite. If you feel really anxious, don't be afraid to talk to the crew. They are there to help you. As salsB mentioned, request an aisle seat at the bulkhead so you can move around. Ask them when you check-in and if they say they cant, ask at the gate or again on the plane. If you explain your circumstances, the crew will be as accommodating as they can. Most importantly, don't forget to breathe and stay as positive as possible. Everything will be just fine!

We recently took our 1yr old to the Wiggles in Australia and it only cost us $35 per adult ticket and nothing for bubs as she was under 2 so she didn't require her own seat. The show was amazing and the venue was well organized. I can understand the Wiggles needing to increase their ticket prices to an extent due to the long distance (regardless of whether it's a layover or not) and costs involved in bringing the entire stage show but it wouldn't surprise me if the actual venue was the one setting the sky high prices. When I called to enquire about the kids box and the minimum age required to purchase a general ticket, I was told that the venue charges on a per person basis, not by age groups. She even told me an infant requires a ticket! [b'>Now thats ridiculous[/b'>! why ? Paying a minimum of 200dhs for a 6wk old baby who doesn't require a seat and will most likely sleep the entire event seems a little much! Well it does to me anyway! edited by Giggles on 12/04/2011 edited by Giggles on 12/04/2011

Do whatever makes you feel comfortable and I'm sure you will look beautiful. I wore a bikini when pregnant and took all the appropriate measures to protect myself and bubs from sun damage and we are both fine. I also loved that my cute belly bump detracted attention from my not so cute expanding butt!!!

Poor OH! Sounds painful. I'm certainly not an expert but I have suffered from hives before due to a reaction to codeine. I would get them on my arms and legs and my hands and feet would swell terribly. For quick relief I would take an antihistamine to reduce the swelling. Perhaps try some tea tree oil to fight any infection. Good Luck!

Yep that's right. You can add a little more lemongrass if you want a stronger flavour. I also like to add extra fresh chilli to give it a nice kick!!!

Red curry paste contains dried red chilli, lemongrass, shallots, garlic, salt, kaffir lime, spices (coriander seeds, cumin), shrimp paste and galangal. Damn it, now I want one!!!

Grab some red curry paste and coconut milk from the shops (and whatever else you want in it like veggies, rice noodles, meat). Heat oil in a wok, add curry paste and stir till fragrant. Add your meat and sit until almost cooked. Add your coconut milk and let it simmer. In the meantime, cook your noodles. Depending on how crunchy you like your vegies, you can either add them with the coconut milk or blanch them in hot water and add at the end. Enjoy!

I feel your pain! I was a blubbering mess when I was down to one feed a night, knowing that I was soon going to lose such intimate times with my DD. I BF til almost 11mths which I was so happy about that. You have every right to be upset but don't worry, it will soon pass. Stay strong!

I figured that was what you were looking for. My DD quickly became obsessed with the toys that hung from the play gym so I'd take one off for her to play with when I noticed her interest. I also got a great little Organic cotton bear from The Toy Store that is small and doesn't have any buttons or bits that could fall off. She wasn't overly keen on it originally but she now sleeps with it every night! I would steer clear of anything blankie-like until they can roll or at least have the co-ordination/strength to get it away from their face if necessary. Good luck with your search. Sorry I wasn't much help. edited by Giggles on 26/01/2011

I'm not sure about their training. The lovely lady who looked after me was Russian (I think) and knew what she was talking about. As mentioned below, the owner is lovely so feel free to call her and ask any questions. Her name is Leena.

I went to Zen recently for a cut and colour and loved it! They are limited to the number of colours they have but it was so refreshing to sit in a salon that doesn't stink of ammonia. The atmosphere is calming and the staff are so lovely. I usually have my hair done in Oz with normal products but Zen were able to match my colours really well and my hair looked so healthy. They have a facebook book page which also advertises their monthly specials. Give it a try!

Apart from unplugging the box and the cord from the wall, I'm don't think you can. Sometimes they ask if we have access to the other box but it's in our neighbors home so we can't access it at all times. If you have access to it, maybe there is a reset switch in there. BUT PLEASE DONT TRUST ME ON THIS! I've never actually seen the other box! So you have two wall sockets where the network cable hoes in? Is there a chance that someone has unplugged it and put it back in the wrong one. I'm sorry I don't know how to fix it! I should though considering how often it happens!

Ours was out for about 24hrs with the "client initialization notice on the blue screen". Unplugging the cords didn't help. When the technician called, he told me he had to reboot/reset our system. We still experienced a few black screens but it soon sorted itself out. I must say that from the millions of times we've had to call them, this time they were very helpful and quick to respond! A nice change!

There is a product available from supermarkets and chemists to rid of stained nails. It's in the nail section where they sell the Scholls Party Feet products. I can't remember the exact name of it but it works. It's a double ended tube with a 3 step process and is simple to use. The final step is a clear lacquer which gives nails a lovely shine.

My whole system went down for 24hrs. After numerous phone calls it is now fixed although I did notice the kids channels weren't previewing for a while. I'm not game to look again while DD is in the room!

Wow! What a little fighter you have there! It does sound like she's not ready for solids yet. My DD showed interest in solids at 4mths but when we gave it to her, she didn't know what to do with it so we held off for a while then tried again with more success. If you are really keen to get her started in order to gain weight, perhaps try a smoothie type drink that she can take from a bottle. Even it's a little fruit pureed in with her milk, that might get her used to the taste. Often it's the texture of the food that puts them off so perhaps start off with flavoring the milk and if she facts positively to it, make it a little thicker next time. Good luck!

We live in a compound in Dubai and it's fantastic for kids of all ages! They can ride their bikes around, play in the playgrounds and go swimming. There is a 20km speed limit and speed bumps to deter the speedsters (although it doesn't stop all of them!). Our security guards are fantastic. They are friendly, patrol regularly and ensure the kids don't leave the compound without parental supervision. We have a 3bdrm villa with a good sized private yard and we have full access to the clubhouse and pool. Good luck with your search!

So I just received a letter from security saying that some of the residents are trying to have dogs banned from the complex. What a coincidence! I love walking around with my DD everyday (we really are lucky to live here), stopping to chat to the residents and going to the playgrounds so DD can play with other kids. Due to our frequent travelling, we are unable to have a dog so a highlight of DDs day is meeting the residents dogs. She is able to become familiar with them, pat them and learn to associate with them (with caution of course). I totally agree that those who walk the dogs MUST clean up after them as it is gross having to step over or around dog poop. But banning them is not the answer. I despise the cats that pee on my freshly washed car, scratching it as they walk along it. Even worse is when they relieve themselves on my doorstep and just the thought of them using the playgrounds as a litter box makes me want to vomit. But even then, I know that they are someones beloved pet and bring them much joy so I would never want them to be banned. If we all banned everything that drove us nuts, we wouldn't have much, would we? Except maybe a lot of chocolate and some gorgeous shoes!!, Banning dogs from the complex would be devastating to a lot of people, and not just the owners. So can we please all try to work together and live life to the fullest. Dog owners, please clean up after your dogs and if you have someone else walking them (while you are out working hard to provide for your families, running the kids around, etc), please ensure they are aware of their responsibilities. Perhaps a few more bins around the complex would be handy??? And for those trying to push the ban, please reconsider. Thank you for your time.

My little one just turned one and she's also dropped down to one nap most days. Depending on what time she wakes up in the morning, she will take her nap at about 2pm and will sleep for about 2hrs. If she is extra active in the morning (if we take her swimming or to the playground) she will take a late morning nap for about an hour as well as her afternoon nap. Her bedtime doesn't differ (8:30pm) and sleeps through until about 8:30am. I still have to take it day by day with her and watch her body language for signs of tiredness but being a stay-at-home allows me to be flexible and adaptable to her needs.

I had the same problem but through a bit of trial and error, I found a cup that she loves. She will drink through a straw from a bottle but not a cup (I think she prefers the thicker straws that bottles tend to have). I've bought some pricey cups but in the end found that she loves a simple cup, no handles and it has a spout. They are 24dhs for 3 and come with different characters on them (Minnie, Mickey, etc). You can get them from Babyshop and Waitrose. And they are even cheaper at Babyshop at the moment with the sale! Good Luck!
