For diet shakes. The only ones I've seen are in massive tins. Anyone seen small tins - I want to try this out before investing in a year's supply and risk wasting my money There is a little shop opposite C4 that sell different sizes plus a small kiosk by waitrose in marina mall. The shops are all over the place. I have only seen whey but not egg Slimfast do diet shakes and they sell that in most big supermarkets. Tins are small edited by sarahlou123 on 13/01/2015 Thanks SL do u mean C4 in moe? Hi there dont despair !! there is a great Doctor at Dubai Community Health his name is Dr Amer he is amazing and I cannot recommend him enough http://www.dubaicommunityhealthcentre.org/infopages.php?page=16 Birchy do you know of his costs? It's between 4 and 600 - depending on your circumstances - he's not particularly in it for the money and is willing to accommodate cases of people in genuine financial hardship

The German Neuroscience Center in Healthcare City offers a Support Group once a month. Maybe you check there. http://www.gncdubai.com/ I know that they have the best counselors. Best wishes I didn't like the physician there - he spent all of my insurance doing useless MRI scans, liver scans etc - all in his own clinic which were totally un-needed. I'd rather go to Amer Saaeddin who is lovely, genuine, accommodating and affordable.

I need to exercise but it needs to be fun for me to stick with it. Never been an active person. What to do? Where? Salsa? Pole dancing? Any suggestions?

Hi, I think I know what it is, because it happened to me a couple of weeks ago. If the thread in your bobbin spool is in the wrong direction, this happens. Look for a tutorial on how to place the bobbin into it's little stainless steel holder (before you put it in it's place under the machine). It is supposed to be either over or under (think of the gtreat toilet roll debate - should the paper be over or under? - same concept). I had mine the wrong way and ended up with lots of thread around the bobbin.

This is a bit late but I have a recipe that i came up with myself. Throw into a big frying pan about a cup of white sugar and spread it evenly. Turn the heat on - don't stir - wait for it all to melt, you may have to move the frying pan over the heat so the heat gets to sections it's not getting to. As soon as it's all melted, (it will be brown) and before it burns, pour in some cream, maybe 200 mls (I've never used measurements with this) and stir until the toffee is all disolved. The cream will thicken and turn into a lovely caramel. Drooooool. I'm now drooling.

Izzy, now that I'm not teaching regularly, I usually ask people what they want to learn and get a general concensus going. For a first class I'd probably teach hommus, Moutabel, fattoush and shish tawook. I'm thinking of using my sister in law's apartment in Deira if people dont want to travel half way to Abu Dhabi.

I'm so sorry ladies, I've been on vacation and busy since I got back. I was holding Lebanese cooking classes in my home in JLT but have since moved halfway from JLT to Abu Dhabi (40 minute drive). I've also aquired a full time job. I'm thinking of holding a class or two over Eid next weekend. Pls email me if you have any questions. ginnee ginnee 36 at hotm ail dot com.

CCG, I've found the nigella seeds I bought to be really very hard. Don't you? do you grind them or anything before you use them? #2 is probably Nigella seed (black onion/black cumin seed - it's all the same thing). I use them on salads and to put on chicken and fish, especially if I'm panfrying. I also put them on omelettes. I make a mix of sesame, black sesame, nigella, flax, hemp if I can find them and cumin (I think, or fennel....but I think it's cumin). Anyway if you've ever eaten at Baker & Spice, it's basically the same mix that they put on their crackers edited by celticcavegirl on 10/09/2014

Thanks so much for the replies and ideas. Will definitely try all with the dried mint. oooo oooo ooo, I forgot a yummy recipe. Lebanese potato salad. Dice some potatoes and boil with salt. When cooked, drain the water, add some crushed garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, salt to taste and lots of dried mint. Its really delicious and I prefer it over western potato salad.

Thanks for the replies ladies. The one in MOE is one row of shops back from C4. I always enter MOE from the C4 carpark (when youenter the mall the food court is on the right and a pharmacy is on you left. So I take the first left after entering the mall and walk down, you will see a very small photo print shop on your right, the books in there are AED 249 minimum, but what put me off was they told me it would take 3 weeks. I'm hoping to get one faster than that, so if anyone knows of anywhere (in Satwa maybe?) please let me know. :)

Spice 2 could be Nigella seeds. I'm not sure how to use them, I know they put it in Halloumi cheese, but they seem quite hard. (if they're hard they're definately Nigella seeds) Spice 3 - I use dried mint on lebneh, spread the lebneh in a dish with a hole in the middle and a trough around the edges then pour olive oil onto it and sprinkle with dried mint. You can also put dried mint in you Laban Up (yoghurt drink). I like to add crushed garlic and salt as well, but that's for the brave!! I also sprinkle mint into my stuffed Kousa - into the sauce I cook it in to be exact. I'm sure there are other ways to use dried mint, it would be interesting to get ideas.

Another one? The police foiled three attempts last week and had knowledge of another potential car bomb floating around somewhere. It's not very stable at the moment there, but you know the Lebanese, life goes on. They're used to it after almost 40 years

[b'>Beetroot with garlic[/b'> roast them in their skin - i usually do 3 - 4 med sized ones peel (earing golves) and slice. Mix red wine vinegar and olive oil (S&P) approx 4 tablespoons of each and put half over the beetroot. Take a cup of greek yogurt mix in the rest of the vinegar and 2-3 smushed garlic (too taste) - leave in fridge for two hours After beetroot has marinated for a while - smother yogurt mix over the top and sprinke with chopped walnuts. [b'>Beetroot salad[/b'> Grate raw beetroot in the food processor, add grated carrot, mix with vinegrate, toss through parsley and roasted pine nuts. I have a recipe with almost the exact same ingredients, only it's a dip. Roast them, peel, blitz with a food processor or bamix, add the garlic, salt, tahini to taste and the yoghurt (to taste) it becomes a delightful maroon colour and is really delicious.

The isolation of living in a place where distance and climate have such a profound effect on social life and friendships... Compare women who rely on coffee mornings and women's groups with those who work full-time and therefore have to rely on work colleagues for friendships... Why many women spend so much time online and what effect that has on their state of mind... Thanks DT, very thought provoking!

Then someone who works in my office came in, gave me a blank look when I said hello, then proceeded to be very rude because her laptop wasn't working - it wasn't plugged in to the wall. quote'> How dare you allow her laptop to be unplugged!!! some people are just so self righteous, try not to let them get to you. This was about half an hour before she implied my diet wasn't working (lost almost a kilo this last week)! how rude!!! She's jealous, that's what it is. You're madly in love and getting married and she's not! :)

Thanks ladies, no it's not strictly limited to Dubai, but it has been specified that it needs to be able to be applied in dubai. All of the subjects I listed are applicable here, however the population sample has to be Dubai/UAE based

You could try Survey Monkey, they offer audiences globally who can give you feedback on your survey questions. No idea on the pricing but you could contact them for a free quote. https://www.surveymonkey.com/mp/audience/international/ Thanks Di, I'll give this option a try
