Marina, do you mind telling us what dr you saw at welcare? I have very bad pigmentation on my forehead and it's been helped somewhat by a chemical peel I had at cosmesurge, but I'd like more treatment and this sounds much more affordable

Hi Ginnee, thanks for bumping although it looks like i might end up buying them but wont know what to do with them after the dinner! i am so excited too!, i got the feathers at 20AED each from satwa, medium size, i was after the really big ones but couldnt find any, the size of the ones i got is maybe 40cm. I also got other smaller feather they were cheap, feather fans and black & white pearls. i am going to get black and white pearly balloons and have the party supplier make me towers. as for food, its all finger food, I will get few platters from the lime tree, make oy own platters and get the mini sandwiches etc from the union co. and i will decorate the table with feathers n pears etc :) sounds wonderful fullymine!! you got the feathers for a good price, I paid $20 each for mine when I bought them in Australia!! This is actually the decor I'm doing in my apartment, silver, white, black and lots of mirrors. Although it's at a stalemate at the moment as hubby just got made redundant. Praying he gets another job soon. I hope you take photos of your party and share them as I'd love to see how it turns out!!

So today I ran. 1st time in many years. I managed 1 min then walked 5 min then ran another min. It is seriously pathetic, but should I be pleased that I managed a solid minute, or is this not worth counting? It was very HARD and I thought my heart would fail......:( a solid minute is great!!! it will increase day by day - I should be inspired myself, but still, here I sit on my ever-increasing a$$

If you buy a big fish you can stuff it with coriander fried in butter with garlic and roasted (or just boiled) diced sweet potato and carrots, some capsicum maybe. Then make tarator sauce to go with it, which is 1/2 cup Tahini mixed in a food processor with 1 large clove of garlic, 1/4 cup lemon juice and about 1/4 cup water. Add the water slowly till you get a sauce-like consistency - add salt to taste. As a grand finale you can roast some mixed nuts in a frying pan and top your fish with this - yummmmmmmmmm!!

you can get fabric bands in different colours that you can wear over your unzipped jeans - if indeed you want to save them for after pregnancy. i remember in australia Bond used to do them, very handy also for hiding your bare belly if your tops are too short. Not sure if you can get them here but I suppose you could always get them made.

this is a vegetarian recipe and is decepttively DIVINE and very filling: Fetteh with Tahini and Eggplant This version of Fetteh is truly on the decadent side! Remember, as always, the measurements are not precise, but depend on your personal taste. Keep tasting as you go. 2 cups raw chick peas ¼ teaspoon baking soda 500g yoghurt ¼ cup of tahini 1 large eggplant, diced, deep fried and drained very well on absorbent paper (you can grill them if you want to be healthy) 1 large loaf Lebanese bread, cut into squares and deep fried, or baked dry in the oven as a healthier alternative 2 cloves garlic, crushed 1 teaspoon cumin Salt to taste 3 tablespoons of butter 1/3 cup pine nuts Soak the chick peas overnight (about 2 cups) with a teaspoon of baking soda. Change the water in the morning, add baking soda, NO SALT as this toughens them, and cook. It only takes about 20-30 minutes, it will get foamy on top as it cooks, just remove with a spoon. When they're quite soft, they're ready. (Alternatively, you can used canned chick peas, just empty the brine and cook them for about ten minutes in a little water.) Empty most of the water out, except for a cup’s worth. Mix in the cumin, the garlic, salt to taste. In a bowl, place the chick peas, the Lebanese bread, followed by the eggplant. Top this with two-thirds of the salted yoghurt which has been warmed slightly in the microwave and had the tahini stirred in well. Give it a stir. Pour this mixture into a dish. Spoon on top the rest of the yoghurt. Heat the butter in a frying pan, add the pine nuts and brown them - watch carefully as they can burn quickly. Pour this browned butter-pine nut sauce over the dish in front of your guests, as it sizzles when you do it, a nice effect. This recipe is really, really yummy, the butter and pine nuts are to die for. alternatively, omit the tahini and eggplant, and crush the chick peas with the back of a spoon, then layer the bread on top and top off with the yoghurt, butter and pine nuts - quicker and still very yummy!

Try registering with a firm that specialises in Legal positions. Taylor Root etc.... It's pretty tricky for a good lawyer to stay out of work long here. If he's good, he'll find something. Derien, thanks for this, I actually mentioned Taylor Root to my husband and he hadn't registered with them yet. He found a job there which he's applied for, fingers crossed edited by Ginnee on 08/01/2012

Anon pointed out something quite wise, if the man is traditional enough to go through an arranged marriage, he will be too eager for the physical act to really notice your body the way you see it, for at least the first year of marriage. Learn to see yourself the way he sees you, as a hot chick who is his alone, and DON'T ever complain about your body to him. Puts the guy in a very awkward spot and can even teach him to find flaws in you. I totally agree with this, he will be tooooo excited to do the physical, he wont notice any flaws. And do not, not, not complain about your body to him. You will teach him to see the flaws you see. Be confident and he will be confident!!

Help! Is this something I didn't know about? My parents just commented over Christmas on how easily DD goes to bed and they must have jinxed us as the last few nights have been a nightmare! :\: The usual routine is that we all have a cuddle and then I leave to start dinner while DH and DD have some special time together and a bit of a catch up after their day. They brush teeth, read a book or watch stars on the ceiling etc and bedtime is 7pm. She's not a good sleeper and only has 1.5 to 2 hrs in the day and never after 2pm so we feel 7pm is a must. She's tried every stall tactic in the book this week though. She wants us both at bedtime, she wants to go downstairs and the big one is that she's still hungry. I thought I took care of that last night as I gave her yoghurt and some cereal with her night-time milk. Is she just testing us or does she feel like she's missing out on something and are we supposed to just let her cry it out? That would break my heart as bedtime has always been a special time for our family and I'd hate for her to be so worked up before going to sleep. I can't imagine dropping her daytime nap already. What is going on?? how old is she Clair?

@Ginnee my friend told me she had the same prob as you and it's face book's sneaky way of making you convert to Timeline. You can only request her once you convert :( Actually my friend did something to her timeline and I was then able to see and click on 'request friendship' or something like that. Dont know what she did, but Im so glad I havent been forced to convert yet!! I hate the look of it!

ohhhh Zeynab, i'm so sorry to hear this. It's never happened to me, although I think I had two miscarriages when I was first trying to get pregnant, but never went to a dr - it was so early in the piece. I'm sure some other ladies will come on soon and offer you better advice. Hugs and prayers for you. xxx

OP, I hope things improve for you. I can fully understand you being reluctant to go back home. I wouldn't want to go back to my home country, knowing the difficulties there, and I know Canada is in a much worse state. Like some others suggested, it would be good for you and hubby to sit down together to work things out, even if he has to pull a sickie to do it, so you can think with clear, rested minds. clare1976, how did you manage to get work at your sons school? did you have qualifications? I'd love to get this type of work but am not qualified.

I was on opiate pain killers for many years due to chronic pain (thank god its a thing of the past now) and suffered severe constipation. I was given magnesium powder, to mix in water with citric acid (as this activates the magnesium) to use in conjunction with metamucil. it did work (was prescribed to me by a physiotherapist who specialises in bowel dysfunction). You can find her book through google "constipation, lets get things moving" by Sue Markwell. it's a little book costing about $6, you could probably get it delivered here. She also has exericises for it.

If you're looking for a really quick and easy recipe, here's one I've made before, best for busy mums! Banana bread 2 bananas mashed 1 cup Mayonnaise ½ cup sugar 2 cups Self raising flour mix. pour into loaf pan bake for 40 mins in 180 degree oven Yes it has mayo in it to replace the eggs and the oil, has a slight tang to it but quite nice!
