I'm only 4 ft 10 inches (147 cm) so being in an area with staggered seating is a must!!

I called them and apparently the fee is 90!!! Just for me. Why? I don't know. But I'm glad I have my tickets in my hot little hand. I chose the grand stand, coz I need a seat to sit on. Where did you get?

Thanks sarahlou. im still having problems, have entered the stage where you click continue to go through and pay for tickets, but it's giving the wrong price. mine are 795 each, times 2 = 1590. plus 65 x 2 (130) = 1720, however it's giving me a price of 1790. Whats up, do you have any idea? Never used ticketmaster before

I signed up yesterday, first time ever, to buy my tickets, but it didn't save or actually request the credit card details. I had to just enter those when I went through to pay for the tickets. Thanks pollydxb1, but HOW did you 'go through to pay for the tickets'???? I can't seem to get there. I appreciate if you could help me :D

Can you please, please tell me how to order them from ticket master? I've tried but not been successful. I signed up as a member, but how do you actually purchase the tickets?

The grotto is only AED30 and you get an excellent photo I think its by the people who do the photos at Burj Khalifa) it was perfect quality and a gift-bag which contained a soft toy and a colouring set. The bird-show was only AED50 for me and AED30 for kids and I booked direct at the dolphinarium. We have been to see the dolphin show lots of times before and its great entertainment for kids, they love it! The bird-show is a great addition and its so nice to be outside. Most of the details are on the website. Thanks for the info :)

We don't know the whole story here, of course, but having been in a similar position at one stage of my life, I do think you are being a little thoughtless. Please put yourself in your SD's mother's shoes. More than likely she is struggling financially and for that reason alone, she agreed to her DD living abroad without her. How hard do you think that decision would have been for her? Do the "right thing" and allow your SD to spend her vacations where she wishes. Obviously, the lure of spending Xmas with her mother would not financial but one of love and loss. Be gracious and give your SD the best Xmas gift ever - let her spend the Xmas holiday with her mother. She must miss her mother so much. No one can replace your own mother. Your husband has moved on and maybe his first wife has, as well, but remember that the product of their marriage cannot move on - she remains split between two families and always will ... how sad. Poignant and wise as always, Mrsb

Ginnee there is no way you would get a mansion on Sydney harbour waterfront for 5.7m dirhams, Australian dollars maybe. What is even more crazy is that there are people who will pay that for them. It's really ridiculous. Without buyers, the prices would go down to a more reasonable level. I could buy a mansion on the Sydney harbour for that!! and you can be assured the workmanship and quality of matierials would be second-to-none!! edited by TimTam on 24/11/2013 You're right. I was thinking in dollars....

Thanks ladies for all the advice. Is it a good time now to start planting for these things? Esp the strawberries, blackberris, herbs and tomatoes. I'm keen to get my 5 year old girls involved, they might tend to eat their veggies if they grew and harvested them themselves.

Thanks sue - you've inspired me :) I have a courtyard that is full sun, which gets shade from the house and high fences at different times of the day - I'll have to study the sun's behaviour in our yard to see. I appreciate your extensive advice, thanks a lot.

Ginnee, sounds as if Mrsb. Is referring to the garden souk. Drive past Dragonmart on E44, at the first roundabout turn left, then right at the next roundabout. After 500 mtrs you'll find loads of big nurseries. Thanks Oopsiedaisy. I've tried googling, is it on Manara St? I can't seem to find anything that looks like a nursery on the satelite

We just bought some in Dragon Mart. ended up getting it for 50dhs per square metre. We laid it ourselves, although the sales person told us they can recommend someone to do it for us. We're not fussy so decided to just do it ourselves. It looks great, the girls are so happy, playing outside after school.

I've just realized this may not work out, as I've rescued a baby bird some weeks back. He is doing well, but I'm trying to get him ready for wild life, and putting him in a cage wouldn't be good for that. He's got free reign of my back yard, which is really well fenced. Is the cat the outdoors or indoors type, as I would definately have to keep him inside except for times when I put Heckyl, the bird, in the bathroom (it's an out-of the-house bathroom) at night.

The drains here are not good like we have back home. It's the same in lebanon. If you keep flushing it down the loo, it could block your pipes.

Friend has fractured his wrist, been to hospital expecting manipulation and a cast to be fitted for a few weeks but been advised to have surgery and a plate fitted at a cost of AED 30,000! Been recommended to go to the Russian Hospital where the same surgery will be around AED 7500. Any advice? this happened to me, it turned out cheaper to fly to Lebanon for the surgery! No waiting either. I think it cost me about 3000dhs, not including the airfare. I know an excellent orthopedic surgeon in Beirut!! It's so expensive here!

Try the Nutrition Zone in Ibn Battuta, next to Faces, up the Geant end. They have a very comprehensive collection and the guy there is really helpful.
